I was sitting on my bed cross legged, looking down at a folded piece of paper, no bigger then my palm. I was fiddling with it, reluctant to read it but at the same time curious to see what it would have to say.
"Stop staring at it and open the damn thing already,"
Dominic said as he reached my back and laid a hand on my shoulder.
"Go on, just open it,"
"If you keep fiddling with it like that you going to give me anxiety,"
The twins then added.
"Don't listen to them, take time with the things you care about,"
Eleanor said as she looked at me from her bed. Anastasia came out from the bathroom.
"You people are so whiny, it has nothing to do with you so leave the stallion alone,"
Anastasia being nice for once, though that didn't stop her from crossing her arms and staring at everyone.
I mentally just groaned at the decision making. Well screw this!
I hastily unfolded the piece of paper, it wrote two things. The first one was an address paired with a date, the second one was a message.
"Don't be afraid of death, embrace it like a second family,"
Then at the bottom.
-EX
It was a message, a reply to the answer that I gave. The date that was written on it was a week after the return home. It not like I'll be going to school anyways, my parents are going to get a complaint, then they're going to pull me out and then I'm going to complain. It was a simple cycle of that. I bet when I leave for Ameria their going to be be so happy but acting furious at the same time.
I folded the paper and shoved it back in my pocket then opened my bag and started packing my stuff preparing to leave this heaven. One of the funnest times of my life. Actually it was the funnest time, and it was at school, my prediction was correct. School is fun.
Everyone was waiting for me with their bags all packed and zipped, it only took us a matter of minutes because the amount of things we actually brought was not much at all. I stood and slung my bag over my shoulder.
"All good,"
We walked out to door and to the front of the castle which is where we were told to go after we packed.
As we approached the front of the castle we could see the parents mingling and Althgar nowhere to be seen. Gods, where is he just when we're about to leave!
A butler came over and bowed to me, I recognised him as one of the family butlers from the mansion.
"I'll take your bag for you young master,"
He said that but as he was saying it he forcefully pulled my bag from my shoulder, probably not wanting to be embarrassed by the other butlers who with close inspection were doing the same thing.
"I didn't know butlers were so forceful these days,"
Anastasia told us as we grouped together.
"You mean you didn't know they had this much pride,"
I said to Anastasia who was glaring daggers at the butler.
"Don't hate on the butler,"
"And don't kill him,"
The twins said, trying to warn their sister. Don't think it worked, actually I don't think she was even paying attention.
"Anna, it's the day, let's try keep it positive, for the sake of bittersweet,"
She purses her lips, I could practically hear her thinking about Eleanor's words.
"Bittersweet huh?"
She said as she stopped glaring at the butler and instead focused her eyes on each and everyone of us. Then she did something unexpected and not in character for a person like her, but we can let it off considering the circumstances.
"Come in you guy,"
Anastasia said as she opened her arms and came in to hug us all. We all did the same to reciprocate that action. We all won't be seeing each other again, except the tiger twins. Anastasia is going to be off on her own again and she's only 14. Eleanor's going to go on more business trips to build reputation and experience while Dominic is probably going to go back to school and work his ass of to become head. While I, I am going to deal which some family problems.
In that moment, it was a dry moment, no tears were shed because none were needed, we all understood that, but I could feel my chest tightening and the need to cry was strong, my will, however was stronger, and I kept it in. It was just slow breathing and closed eyes to intake that moment, the last moment we'd have together as now what I acknowledge as a second family. The arms provided warmth to the heart and soul and this was proof that we were all connected, it was not by ability, not by family but by this special relationship we have developed over this short time period people named a year. They are my real friends, smart, shy, funny, confident, loud, quiet, understanding they are all that, a package deal that come for the price of being myself. I'd say it's worth it, even in my present moment as I'm telling this story because now I will continue this, this is a story of how I became the head, head of what? Well you'll have to see later when the time comes.
A/N : Ameria is a made up country of the story.
