Chapter 85 - A Last day to Remember (4)

We all sat at the stands watching the couples' dance. In the middle of it all, twirling in a white ballroom dress held by a ochre brown sleeve were our own fox and jackal.

Wearing their masks on only their eyes and mouth were visible. It fit in with the rest because the untold topic of this event is masquerade ball. Everyone wore ball gowns and standard colour suits meaning us guys all stood out because of our unusually coloured suits. Mine stood out the most being red in colour. I looked more like the fox then Eleanor did because of her white dress.

The couple dances' ended and then the talks began, we walked down the gallery stairs and started to mingle. It was quite obvious who the nobles were but it wasn't as obvious which one was which. I was dress in a vermillion suit with a white dress shirt, Dominic was in the light ochre brown suite and dark ochre brown dress shirt. One of the tigers had a light blue suit with a white dress shirt and the other was in a white suit and a light blue dress shirt. Anastasia was in a flowing deep blue ballroom dress, sleeveless with simple but elegant patterns on her chest. Her hair was let out shining in its raven black beauty and was pin straight down all the way to the tips. Eleanor was in a white ballroom dress which had darker spots on her chest and fading out where it started to become the dress which looked silkily and was shining because of the light from the chandelier. Her hair was wavy, contrasting to Anastasia and it came down over her shoulder to the front to frame her petite face.

The tiger twins had there side spilt with the larger half brushed diagonally forwards and the other half brushed back. My hair was somewhere staying brushed back because apparently it covers my face too much? I don't know what Yuki was thinking. I was mingling with other high class members. I said my farewells to them as I made for another one but just then I made eye contact with someone, a man with a black mask with dark red swirls coming from the sides. That person then smiled at me. It felt so familiar that it hurt. So bad. I heard a small grunt from nearby and looked around to see Dominic. He was looking around as well to see the the rest were doing the se. All except me. They all moved to they could be in eyes contact with each other but far away enough so people wouldn't notice. They all looked up and I sighed and started heading to where they were pointing at. I walked up to the gallery.

"What's wrong, why are you hurting?"

Eleanor asked.

"What is this?"

Dominic then said.

"This is an unknown ability that we all have for some reason, we can feel the emotional pain is it's strong enough. Same thing happened with you,"

Anastasia explain to Dominic, he nodded.

I then started explaining myself because I just remembered something.

"I made eye contact with him, he's here and he wants an answer,"

I said to them.

"Stay up here,"

"No one will notice."

"It's safer"

"And he won't try anything risky in public,"

The tiger twins said as a suggestion.

"No Im going down,"

I said to them.

"We will give you information,"

"Information on the shared pain,"

Anastasia was glaring at the twins for keeping information to the unknown to themselves and not sharing it earlier.

"I agree with the twins, just stay up here, risky moves will only create more factors to be weary of,"

Eleanor tried to reason with me but it wasn't working.

"It's also a risk, hello! I'm in a vermillion suit."

I said back at them.

"Fine, go down but stay away from him,"

Anastasia then walked away in a hurry and I got up. We all then went downstairs at different times so that there would be no suspicion from the crowd. As soon as I went down the stairs I got pulled. With a strong tug that I was not prepared for and my reflexes could not react because of the sheer strength.

I was staring straight at the black masked man, his green eyes were clear at this distance. I could see the happiness in his eyes but I wasn't sure what he was happy about.

"Michy, it's so good to see you again."

He said as he took off his mask to reveal the person that I've dreaded all this time. My brother.

"Elijah, this is a mess, you got to clean it up yourself,"

I told him with a sad smile.

"Give me an answer, I will clean up the mess after,"

He told me, and with hopeful eyes he waited.

"I have some questions first,"

I told him.

"Go on,"

He said with a smile, what was behind it, I don't know.

"Can I have the freedom to go where I want?"

His eyes widened.

"Yes,"

I asked another.

"Can I have the freedom of speech

"Yes,"

"Can I have the freedom,"

I paused in my words as I gulped down my saliva and held back some tears.

"To go to school?"

I heard him breath out. Then he just came in and hugged me.

"Of course, I told you remember? Your going to school."

I hugged him back, I relished the warmth of my brothers embrace for the first time in years.

"So I'm taking it as a yes,"

I nodded and tried to keep back a sob so I ended up just sniffing.

"Can I go back to the mansion though? I promise to provide inside information it's just that if I disappear right after the guys will get worried about me,"

He smiled with warmth, a warmth that was familiar one that I had missed. He nodded and then walked behind me. He put his hands on my eyes making me temporarily blind and then shoved I note in my pocket.

"Seeya around little bro,"

He said from behind as he took his hands off and walked off. I saw his back, then the nothingness that he disappeared off into. One of my hands subconsciously went to feel the piece of paper in my pocket. That really happened.
