The rest of the classes went by without a hustle and it was basically all revision. We were given some written work but all of it wasn't too hard, combat was just sparring with some theory beforehand and potential was target and dummy practice.
By the end I was barely sweating but a bit red. My hair was white tipped red still, my eyes were beginning to turn back and it would be a few hours before my skin turned back to its original colour.
Out history test went right to the middle of the year after the mid year test, it was about our ancestor that we received out potentials from. For Dominic and I, it was Poseidon's ride, the Hippocampus, for the Hu's it was the chinese guardian of the west, the White Tiger, for Eleanor, it was god's throne, the cherubim angel. After the tests Althgar then went up to the front of the classroom after the short 5 minute break and announced the end of the tests and with that, the year.
"I congratulate you all for graduating the school, I will give you your test papers but you will have to hand them back after a few minutes, there will be a graduation ceremony at the social so you will have an audience. Tomorrow there will be no classes, all there is will be the last social, all the top ranking high classes will attend so best be prepared."
He organised the sheets of paper and tapped them on the desk to make them neater.
"Michael Malligane Coltus,"
He called out, I got out of my seat and went to collect my sheet of paper then turning it upside down, deciding not to look at it until everyone else got theirs. Turns out we just get a results sheet.
"Anastasia Hu,"
She got up and did the same thing.
Once the sheets were all handed out in alphabetical order Althgar went off to the side to sit with the heads.
We all got up and went to the empty space in the back of the room making eye contact with each other. None of us saw our results yet but being as competitive as people can get we all had smirks on our faces, everyone except Eleanor, not sure if she can smirk. No, too innocent.
I counted down.
"3, "
Everyone got their hands on their sheets ready to turn them around.
"2,"
I heard heartbeats getting faster in excitement and smirks getting bigger.
"1!"
Papers flipped and eyes scanned hastily it was all a huddle. I looked at the different results and then my eyes spirit dropped a bit when I realised that all the sheets I looked at all had the same score added up. In the end, it all rounded nicely to 99.57%.
I then flipped my own paper around and got the same thing after doing the maths. Everyone else seemed to realise this as well as we all turned to the heads and Althgar asking them with our eyes, is this some kind of trick?
"You all have ups and downs that you make up for each other, be proud of the generation you are in because that's a new high score for the rankings. "
Althgar didn't sit down again, instead he left the room with the heads tailing his as if they were obedient butlers.
I got everyone's score sheets and placed it on a desk to see what we all had as ups and downs.
"Anastasia excels in Manipulation, theory. Kong, excels in Manipulation, practical. Keung excels in Combat, practical. Eleanor, excels in History and Potential. I excel in nothing."
Everyone was crowded around me, analysing as I was going.
"You have high scores all across the board but no perfect or bad scores. "
Dominic said as he stared at the sheets.
"We have an all rounder on our team guys!"
"Seems like our team is one make for business,"
The tigers both said, they then high fives each other and looked up.
"Let's go back, we have today and tomorrow to spend until we are seperate,"
Anastasia said seriously, looks like she's also not wanting to part with the group of friends she's made. Me neither really, these are people who are able to challenge my opinion and are all on the same level as me. Mixing with different personalities is interesting and resulting in never a bland moment, it'll be a shame to part with them tomorrow night.
We went back and along the way chatted like old friends everyone was involved and there wasn't a third wheeler in sight, this was rare in big groups were the conversations were usually one sided, but in this one, everyone butted in and there was just a line, no crowding in and excluding no ignoring on purpose. It truly felt like friendship. Friendship, what a precious thing to have, now that I have experienced it for my self I never want to let it go. It's by far the best feeling. It encompasses all the great feelings into one.
When we arrived back at the room in a big chatty blob we all took off our shoes and I ran ahead to the centre of the room and held up the cards as to show that I wanted to finish the game.
"Sure,"
"Whatever you want,"
"I'm going to win!"
"Let's finish this,"
A series of agreements sounded and they all joined me on the floor just as I finished handing out the four cards to each of us. I got myself the big pile and hand the first card in hand ready to flip. I eyes them all they eyed me back. Ready, go!
High speed of card flipping commenced and it all only last 10 seconds before I had to pick up a pen because of Lioness.
"S,"
Announced Dominic who once again lost. No excuses this time. We kept going until later in the night when we went to a different routine where one person would shower while the others played. We had a lot of draws so there were quite a lot of rounds. By the end the person who lost was Dominic. I guess he's just that bad at the game. We all called it quits when Dominic lost and threw is cards on the floor. We just laughed. I wish everyday could just be like this. Doesn't have to be cards but the feeling. I want the feeling to stay, the feeling of nothing else in the world matters because I've forgotten it all.
I don't want to loose the feeling of friendship, ever, because it's the closest thing I have to the love that my brother gave me.
