Chapter 18 - Your Lunacy May Rub off on Me

The travel was exhausting for Ariya. She needs to be patient especially with the King's childish attitude. She can't understand why so many people dote for this man and yet he's just another idiot! She sighed and followed the King as they enter the gates of the palace.

"Do not hold back. Think of this as your home. Just feel free to ask me if you need anything." King Lance smiled at her, that kind of smile that sweep every woman's feet.

"Mn." was the only thing he heard from her. King Lance matched her steps, he closed their gap so that he could look at his beloved more.

"Stop being so close." Ariya muttered.

"Why not? Are you afraid that you might actually fall for me?" King Lance said smugly.

"I'm afraid your lunacy may rub off on me." She stated as a-matter-of-fact.

Silence...

The King was at lost of words. He just stared at his beloved beside her. He chuckled enough to be heard by the woman beside him.

"What's funny?" She inquired.

"Nothing, it's just that..." King Lance said in between chuckles.

"I..uh..ok you're amusing." He walked past Ariya. The black haired girl stared at the King's back with a confused look. The King noticed that the girl wasn't following her so he turned around and saw the woman's scrunched face filled with confusion. The guards present around blushed at the Queen's reaction, they too found it cute. Lance didn't like it. His face clouded and his stare cold. 'How I wish I could just lock her up never to be seen by anyone, only me' he thought to himself. He went to Ariya and lifted her chin with his long, slender fingers.

"What's wrong my Queen?" He warmly smiled at her. Ariya swatted his hand away and glared at him.

"Don't you dare touch me again." She emphasized every words she said. The King only nodded and smiled. They continued to walk hallway. Lance took the longest route to get into the discussion hall to spend more time with his Queen, however the King Emeritus is impatiently pacing back and forth and wondering for the first time, his son is late for almost an hour.
