Chapter 16 - Lucky Girl

Her face scrunched, brows arch and a 'tsk' escaped from her lip. Although Ariya would hate having the troublesome guy around, she has to endure it. Her meeting with the King is the most important step in achieving their goals. She just wrote a letter for King Lance, hoping she would get a favorable reply. While waiting, she propped her hands and leaned forward reading antics and books about the history of witches, particularly her kind. Ariya is an elemental witch, her specialty is the water element. Though she already mastered all the elements, being with the water makes her more...alive. After reading, she closed the book and put it down with a small thud.

"YM! The reply is here!" Raymond barged in without even knocking or even saying in pleasantries. Which made Ariya startled and frowned but she never cared anyway. She received the letter and dismissed Raymond out of her room. The other seemed reluctant to leave but after seeing his Queen's murderous glare, he stride fast closing the door with a loud bang. Ariya opened the letter and read the contents to herself.

"This guy...What does he take me for?" Ariya couldn't take it anymore. Her head already hurts and the King seemed to add into it. She then wrote another letter as a reply to the King.

"Good Heavens! Why are you doing this to me?" Ariya sighed heavily while pinching her nose bridge. Once again, she went through the letter the King sent him and read it again, but this time a vein popped in her forehead noticing on the last part which Ariya failed to notice a while back. The King once again called her "My Queen..." and mentioned "Our future..." She can't handle this shameless bastard anymore! Why would he think they shared the same future?

"Randall!" A man within his 20s went inside the room. His poker face is the only thing you'll ever see in his expression. Though he doesn't show too much of his feelings, Ariya knew too well that he is a good and warm hearted boy.

"Send this letter to the King and prepare the chariot for me," She ordered.

"And one more thing, tighten the barrier around the Kingdom, I may not be around for a while." She added. Though his face doesn't show it, Ariya could read his aura and feelings too well.

"I will be away for a while. I will visit another kingdom. So I want all of you to be careful while I was out got it?" The young man only nodded.

"King Lance has arrived!" The herald gleefully announced and blew the trumpet as hard as he could manage. King Lance gracefully climbed up the stairs taking his time. His smile melted the hearts of the maiden present outside the palace. The palace doors went wide open. Princess Tatiana giggled and went to King Lance, bowing before him then looking at him with her beautiful eyes and flirtatious smile. King Lance returned the gesture. He knew too well what the maiden is thinking, he smiled at her and walked past through the princess to greet the King and Queen.

"Let's go to the dinning hall, I'm so delighted to see you here, King Lance." The Queen of Alzian said. Princess Tatiana, though shocked at the King's nonchalant expression towards her, gained composure and went to the dinning hall with a smile. As they sat on the long rectangular table with red silk fabric that covers it. Golden candle light as their center piece together with the white roses arranged on the table. King Lance glanced at the roses and thought of only one girl 'his queen' he suddenly smiled at this unaware of the stares bore at him.

"Seems like that look and smile came from the man in love." Said the Queen as she took the food to her mouth. Princess Tatiana bit her lower lip and giggled.

"So who's the lucky girl?" Princess Tatiana smiled from ear to ear. well of course, she knows it would be her. It should be her.

"You're overthinking Your Highnesses." King Lance chuckled lightly.

"I presumed whoever that lucky girl is, we'll be invited for the grand wedding?" The king of Alzian smiled at him.

"Of course, I'll take note of that."
