Chapter 4 - Comeback (2)

"Marriage?! Father, what are you talking about?" His usual calm demeanor vanished as this topic was brought up. King Conrad knew this was coming, he knows his son very well and this reaction was what he expected of him.

"Son, I know that you are not ready but, the we need an heir for the future of our kingdom!" explained the King.

"But Father," Before he could finish, his father slammed the table.

"Enough! I've talked to the council about this one, and everyone approved of this." The Prince was taken aback by what he heard. His father, whom he trusts the most, would decide something big without any regards to what he would feel about this marriage. His disapproving look was etched on his face before he took a deep breath and calmed himself down. He knows that this is not the time to argue with his father, not in his state of mind. The Prince decided to walk away, bowing before the King and taking his leave.

"Favian, get my medicine. I'll be needing it." The King ordered crunching his heart. The King sat back and took a deep breath. He need to calm down or else, the curse will get worst. Yes, after Ariya died, a curse was cast on the King.

'Ariya, why would you do this?' The king thought to himself. After a while Favian came back holding a tray of medicinal herb coming from a newborn kingdom. The king sighed as he took the herb and ordered Favian to let him be alone in his study. He was curious as to how this newborn little kingdom have a powerful medicinal herbs with them. 'Maybe for a future alliance?' What else could it be aside from alliance?' The King reminisce as to how he got this herbs. Someone from this newborn kingdom, Kingdom Layla, has sent them this herbs. What the king was very curious about is, how does this kingdom knows about his curse? How can that man be so sure that this herb will slow down the effect of the curse? The King was freed from his thoughts when he heard a knock.

"Yes come in." He answered. The door slowly opened and the Kingdom's messenger appeared.

"Your humble servant wants to deliver a message." He bowed down before the King waiting for King Conrad to reply.

"Speak." Replied the King.

"Your Highness, this is a message from the other kingdoms, they want to have a royal meeting tomorrow after the sun will set. You will gather at the Dark City for an important meeting. Here's the completed details." The messenger handed the letter and the king gestured him to go out of the room.

"Impossible! The General of the Alzian army was killed by a rogue?" The King's complexion turned pale as he read the letter. The Alzian army is known for their strong and highly skilled army. 'Theirs would even rival ours. They have the best training but, a rogue was able to take down one of the 7 mythical Generals just like that?' The king said to himself. As he was holding the letter, something inside the enveloped shocked him. "This is....No, impossible she's gone! Why would there be..." The King wasn't able to move and his eyes were locked at a certain something.
