Chapter 58 - COURSE OF ACTION: PART V

"Lady Tina, I brought you your snacks." Greyford placed the silver tray on the table by the window as they have rearranged the girl's study lately. Since Fuji was growing quite big as the passing day, he need a large space for himself to rest in the same room as the girl. Plus, they had to add loads of bookshelves to arrange all the necessary documents.

"Thank you, Greyford if you weren't around I won't even think of having a break." Athena got up from her desk as she went to the table.

"You're welcome my Lady, I've sent some food to Master Lirius's study as well. He and Jocey is quite busy with what they are doing." He explained as he assisted the girl to her seat as he then poured some tea into her cup.

"Anyway, how's your stay here?" She asked whilst taking a sip of her tea that was freshly brewed by the old man.

"Thanks to you for helping us, my Lady, we have a better life here. It's been over a fortnight since our stay and I can proudly say that our life here is much better than before. My son is able to be with Esme at the same time, he is training to be a better knight than I am. Whilst Jocey, she is smiling like a normal child and everyone treats her like one. They don't even ask why her ears are like that nor wonder where we came from. For them, she is just but a child."

"I'm glad to hear that."

"It's all thanks to your generosity my Lady. Jocey is too able to control her power thanks to Master Lirius' guidance."

"Hmm, Lirius does see a great potential in Jocey." She added as she took a sip of her tea and took a bite on some pastry.

Whilst Greyford was pouring tea on her cup, he noticed the girl rubbing her eyes. "Is something wrong my Lady?"

The girl removed her glasses which she has been wearing since she arrived in this world. But, lately, she noticed her vision seems to have improved. "It seems my vision is much better without my glasses."

Greyford placed the teapot down and greeted the girl, "If you don't need anything else, I'll be on my way. Call me if you need my help."

"Ah, before you leave, can you please bring the documents in my desk to Lirirus, and please return the books to him as well." She pointed at the documents which were stacked on the pile of books.

"Ah shall," He said as he grabbed everything, and as he left the room, he bid the girl farewell, "Then, I shall excuse myself."

Athena was relaxing and rejoining her tea when Fuji woke up from his nap. "It must be Lirius coming."

It was only a few minutes since Greyford left, and in no time, Lirius came storming in the girl's study slamming the door open whilst waving the paper in the air. "What is this? When did you…"

"Lirius, come sit down."

"My word, when did you figure it out?"

Athena glanced at Lirius whilst she was sipping her tea, the man continued to ramble on as she was deep into her own world.

… Technically, I figured it out a long time ago. But, I can't tell him that. Since I realize the plants from my modern world and here are quite similar. I somehow thought, medicine in the modern world will also work here. This world relies too much on magic and those who don't possess such ability are left with no means to survive. Having a priest heal you would cost money, and for those who don't have such an amount will then seek help from Alchemist, however, they are not as generous as priests since they'll charge quite a price for a potion. Cold potions can even cost a few silver coins.

I've almost forgotten, the money here is quite old fashion as well. I sometimes wish I could go back to my world and introduce notes. I mean, not just notes, online banking and credit card as well. But, no worries, I've already planned for that as well. Ten copper is equivalent to one silver, a hundred silver is equivalent to one gold. For now, gold is the biggest currency and hopefully, I'll be able to change it soon.

"Hey, are you even listening to me." Lirius slammed the paper onto the table, annoyed to see the girl not listening to him.

"You were saying?" Athena smiled innocently for she has indeed not heard a single word of what he just said.

"This!" He presented the piece of paper right at her face so she may recall what caused him to be so frantic. "I'm talking about this!"

"Ah-"

... How did I forget.

"This is impressive, with this, we can easily cure all common illnesses without relying on a healer, at the same time, some poison can even be cured as well." He said full of delight as he felt they have just discovered a new revolution of magic.

'Well, that's what I hope for anyways. However, I am still not sure if the plant's effects are the same with the modern world.' She thought as she explained herself to the man. "I'm not sure yet, that's why I want you to test it… The fact that most villages don't even have any healer or alchemist. I want our village to invest in making herbal medicine. At the same time, I'm hoping it can cure the poison within me as well. As you know, we have tried all sorts of potions, yet it seems nothing is working."

"Herbal medicine, that sounds good."

Lirius looked at the girl who was deep in thought of what she just said, he too couldn't help but be amazed by her. 'She is just a little girl yet she already thought about all of this. It's been a couple of months already, yet it seems we haven't fully cleansed the poison within her. Who would have thought what I did fail. I mean, at least it saves her life and day by day she's doing much better than before. But still, it would have been better if it fully healed her."

"But you know," He paused as he sat down and pointed out some things that the girl wrote which caught his attention, "Some of these herbs you need aren't found here."

Athena sips of her tea as she already expected it. She glanced at him and said, "I know."

"Then, what should we do? They are locally found here in the Northern Region, but they aren't found anywhere near this area."

"I know that as well."

Lirius looked troubled as he couldn't think of a solution at all to such a simple matter. He dwelled on the matter, as he grabbed the girl's cup, and took a sip of her tea.

"Which is why, I'm planning to leave for a couple of days." She answered right at the moment when the man was taking a sip of her tea.

Lirius choked on what he just drank as he coughed and yelled.

"YOU'LL WHAT?!"
