"You may now kiss the bride", the priest said, and when he lifted the veil, and moved his lips to kiss the bride and was so shocked that he almost dropped her. Never did he think that this would happen.
The person in front of him was certainly not Lily. But she looked exactly like Lily. Was he hallucinating? Absolutely not. But how did this happen? That woman was like a glue, sticking to him. But this woman in front of him was naturally charming. She smiled at him to encourage him. He composed himself and dipped his head and lifted her veil again to kiss her. No one noticed the momentary surprise on his face. She smiled at him, and whispered some words in his ears.
After the wedding ceremony was complete, they went to their family to receive their blessings. No one noticed that when the bride stood in front of her father, hatred flashed in her eyes, but she masked it with a smile. They then, mingled with other family members, and various guests. The bride and the groom was smiling all throughout the way.
Everyone was busy with speaking to each other, and making connections. At night, the wedding reception would be held. Tomorrow the husband and the wife would go for their honeymoon. Meanwhile, Robert pulled his wife to the bridal chamber. He pulled her up, and carried her bridal style into the room and then gently made her sit on the bed. The lady was slightly shocked, but smiled, and said, "You did not need to do this."
"I know. But I have vowed to carry out the duties of a husband, so, I must do this."
She smiled but said nothing.
"I have a request."
She raised her head a little, looking at him confusingly.
"Can you tell me...", he paused, not knowing what to say.
The lady's laughter was like tinkling bells. She then said, "Tell you what? How I am here instead of her?"
"Yes."
"Miss Lisa asked me to."
"And?"
"And nothing."
"I mean, she said that she would solve my problem, but never did I think that she would pull this stunt. If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me who are you?"
"That woman's twin."
"That's why you look like Lily, but you are so different from her. Beautiful too."
She laughed again, and then said, "Let's go. People will notice our absence."
"Doesn't matter."
"Huh?"
"We are married today. We ought to be in the bridal chamber. So, I think that even if they notice our absence, it wouldn't matter."
She blushed furiously and thought, 'How can a man be so shameless?' She playfully hit him on his shoulders.
"I have a request.", she suddenly said in all seriousness.
"Tell me your request."
"I don't want to come in front of your brother Oliver."
"Why?"
"I can't tell you right now, but I will tell you soon. Can you agree to my request?"
"Okay that can be arranged. But promise me that you won't harm him."
"Promise."
They smiled at each other, trust visible in their eyes.
