Chapter 13 - Chapter 13. Rune

The moon had taken over giving little light to the tiny critters that roamed the night in hunt of shelter or something to satisfy their hungry bellies.

The stars shimmered giving the moon comfort knowing it was not alone. A soft groan came from my mouth as I finally started to wake from my unwanted nap.

It was cold making my tail wrap around me to keep my body warm. My whole body hurt along with a throbbing head ache knocking at my skull. My ocean blue eyes slowly fluttered open as I started to hear laughter from afar.

I felt my hurt body shiver softly from the cold but I did not let it effect me as I looked up at the wood ceiling. Where am I? All.... all I remember is falling from a tree and pain...

so much pain.

Wait the arrow!

And Where am I!?

I sat up quickly but let out a pained gasp when shearing pain that spread through out my body. My eyes watered but I was more focused on the cloth that was now wrapped around where the arrow was.

I could see my blood seeping through the cloth making me a little dizzy so I looked away. But before I did I realized I had some better clothes then I did before.

I only had shorts but that's better than what I had before... At least I think that's what they are, they are softly but they

weren't made of silk but something else... Nevermind, I shook my head and glanced at the wound before looking away again.

I never liked seeing my own blood... I sighed looking around the foreign room. It was a round shape room with a door and a window, I could hear laughter coming from outside it.

I was laying on a wooded bed that stuck out from the nicely carved wall. It had some very weird symbols carved into it making me lift my hand and trace the symbols. Must be some sort of language, I directed

my eyes to the other things in the room. Beside the bed was a wooden night stand with a wooden cup on it filled with water. Beside nightstand There was a tall book self with maybe five books along with a desk across the room with a round what looked to be a stump as a seat.

I looked back to the glass on the night stand and gently grabbed it with my shaking hands. As soon as I tasted the water on my dry lips I gulped it down like I was dying from thirst. I pulled the cup away and let out a sigh as I put the now empty cup on the nightstand.

I could hear more laughter coming from our side making me turn my head to the window. I could see a fiery glow coming from outside making me more curious as to where I am.

I gently swung my legs over the edge of the wooden bed and planted my feet on the ground. I clenched my teeth closed as the pain from my wound increased. I pressed a hand to my wound trying to calm the pain as I stood up.

I stumbled a bit but finally made it to the window. What I Seen shocked me, there were people! They were all singing and laughing as they danced around a huge bond fire.

Everyone was laughing, dancing and eating, I could smell the food from up here. Wait... As I looked around I noticed I was very high up. Like very very high, I looked up and noticed other structures that hung from trees up around me.

They had windows like mine making me thing they are rooms. They were all connected together by bridges but the more I looked I noticed more larder structures were lower to the ground.

They had balconies that went around the structures and some didn't even have walls just a roof but all had something in common, they were lit up.

There were beautiful lights hanging from the structures and tress lighting up the night in a bright red glow. I was so preoccupied that I didn't even notice the door behind me open up.

My mouth turned up into a smile as I watched everyone down below jump around playfully but this peacefulness did not last long as I felt a hand rest on my shoulder.

I jumped with a Yelp turning around to face the person that touched me. It was a elderly man, he had long silver hair with a long beard. His eyes were light blue almost white and his face was coved in wrinkled from his older age.

He was about to my shoulders and He wore a green long robe that turned into dark green as it dragged on the ground behind him. He had a silver chain with a locket on it around his neck but what stood out to me the most is the long pointed ears on the side of his head.

He smiled at me as he started to speak.

"I'm very sorry if I did scare you. I thought you would have heard me come in through the door."

His voice was a little raspy but he let out a small chuckle when he seen the shook look on my face.

My shock finally subsided.

"No no it's okay, I... where am I?"

The elder man smiled.

"You are in the village of Lohula."

Lohula... huh.

I nodded my head softly but winced as I could a sharp pain in my side. I felt the older man gently guide me back over to the wooden bed.

I sat down and side and watched a the elder man pulled over that large stump right next to the bed and sat down on it. I was surprised when I seen him do that cause that stump must have been pretty heavy.

The elder man pulled open a drawer in the night stand. Inside was medical supplies such as wrap, a small silver needle, thread for sowing up wounds, along with what looks to be some type of medicine. He pulled out some wrap and looked back to me.

"Could I?"

I gently nodded pulling my slightly bloody hand from my wound allowing him to unwrap it. I didn't look down in fear of the blood so I just looked at the wall.

"May I ask your name young man?"

I glanced at the elder man from the corner of my eye my ear twitched softly.

"It's J...."

As I went to say my name something stopped me, I closed my mouth and looked down at the ground thinking for a moment.

This is a new life... a new chance.

I don't want to bring anything with me from my old life. I closed my eyes in thought before I finally decided. I jumped slightly when I heard the elder mans voice.

"Have your forgotten your name?"

I shook my head and smiled softly to the elderly man ignoring the pain as he wrapped my wound again.

"My name is... Rune."
