Eyes so dark met her soft brown ones. She shivered from his icy and unwavering stare. The man's gaze never left her face. It only dipped to look at her necklace and back.
She almost jumped when he lifted her hand and kissed it.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Amelia. I look forward to our future encounters.,"
" Sa-same here," she stammered.
She cannot help but feel like a prey being hunted. The man's presence alone suffocates and frighten her. She's a tough lady but she fears the man.
"If you dont mind, I'd like to know my fiancee more.", he took her arm and guided her to the garden without waiting for the elders' permission.
"Seems like my son can't wait to be alone with your daughter.", General Yu chucked happily, watching their backs disappear.
She followed along helplessly. Looking back, her father was talking animatedly with the general and Ying is also frightened as a deer.
"Why did you bring me here?", Avery asked nervously.

At her confusion he moved closer, almost hugging her. When he stepped away, he has removed the necklace.
"I'll return this to its owner.", he said sternly as he pocketed the locket. " Are we clear on this my love?"
Avery clenched her teeth, swallowing her fear.
"I didn't even know his name! And you don't own me Xander Yu!," she stared back defiantly.
"Tut, tut, tut Amelia.," he gripped her jaw and looked looked at her angrily. "You will soon learn enough that defiance will not be good for you. I'll break your wings so that you will learn obedience.
His grip was so hard that tears started to fall from her eyes. She now understand why she fear the man. He is a monster!
