Chapter 3 - Assimilation

"What!?! Oh alright! Do you guys have anything to drink? Blood bags or should I go to the nearest shopping mall?" Alinore asked when she felt a little thirsty. She did not like Mystic Falls, it brought back bad memories. If she was needed back in this world, she would rather end up in New Orleans, not here. She sighed, thinking about the fiesty blond she left back at New Orleans, she felt a little sad. She had followed the Originals from New Orleans to Mystic Falls back to New Orleans but was dragged away by the old man above because her mission was over. Never would she anticipate her return here. "And is that burnt pancakes I smell?" she raised an eyebrow, totally forgetting about her thirst. Just then a brunette walked in. "Lily! This is Alinore. She...came through the chimney." Nora tried to explain. Lily looked a little tensed but did not bother to question further because the sight in the kitchen distracted her. "What's the occasion?" she asked as she saw the bunch of ingredients for a rich breakfast laid out in a mess on the counter. The pan was smoking and the pancakes were burnt.

"Don't tell me you forgot?"

"Forgot what?" Lily replied Mary Louise.

"Our anniversary. We've been together for 130 years." Mary Louise was in disbelief.

"Girls, she haven't forgot. In fact the party was her idea." said Julian, while trying to defend Lily.

"Really? Lily Salvatore throws a party? Nothing says I love you than falling asleep by 9.15" Mary Louise smirked.

"We'll see" Lily implied, while smiling, though her smile looked forced.

"Well then happy anniversary! Forgive me for not preparing a gift because of my ignorance." Alinore interjected. "Well then! Let me just grab a drink because I haven't fed in ages." And with that Alinore just up and left, sprinting into the streets.

However, as she walked on the sidewalk, she could not see a single soul. The streets looked dilapidated, signs hanging off the walls. It looked like the residents all left in a hurry. It was nothing like the cheerful Mystic Falls a few years ago when she came with Rebekah.
