Chapter 41 - Envy

Sitting behind the counter as usual, Apollo couldn't help but think, 'Is there really an existence beyond that Azeroth?'

They both are powerful, sure, but that doesn't mean they could defy the heavens like what's happening to him now. Each and everyone of his customers were sent to his restaurant like it was predestined, as if an existence beyond his comprehension did it.

It's like the simulation theory people all over the world have thought of, every people, every building, every atom is made of code, and there is a being that controls everything, a god.

Shaking his head, Apollo dismissed the thought and continued on with his day.

...

Levi took a one day leave and catched up with his and Flynn's lives along with Elizabeth who tagged along. The three couldn't even remember the last time they went out together.

Chatting and laughing in the side of the road, they saw a messy haired woman walking out of a tall building, "Abbie?"

Abigail hasn't been in the restaurant lately due to her father's company having internal conflicts. Her uncle who's supposed to manage this city's branch embezzeled all of the company's profits for this month and was missing since then.

Because of her uncle's acts, she now manages this branch and couldn't find the time to go to the restaurant and enjoy herself.

Looking up and removing the hair covering her eyes, she saw a fairy like woman standing in between Levi and a handsome man, "W-who?"

Even though she hasn't stayed long in the restaurant, Elizabeth has been good friends with Abbie ever since they had met each other, Liz pouted and pointed at herself, "It's me! Elizabeth!"

Abbie's eyes twitched, all the while she thought that Elizabeth has been hiding herself because she's afraid that other people would judge her looks, only to be hit by reality hard.

Time slowed down as she carefully looked at every detail in Elizabeth's face, her jade like skin, her eyes brimming with energy as if its a crystal, her soft pink lips, 'It's every woman's dream to have a face like yours and yet- you hide it!'

Envy filled her heart as she stared at Elizabeth, her long slim legs, her thin waist line, her luscious black hair- let's stop. The longer she stared, the more she felt jealous, 'I think it's better for me to cover myself up instead of you.'

Abigail's looks are by no means average, but compared to Elizabeth, she's ugly. Heck, calling her ugly while comparing her to Elizabeth is an insult to Elizabeth's beauty.

With a slight push on her shoulders, she woke up, "H-huh?"

After she fully regained her conciousness, what greeted her is Elizabeth's bright smile, turning her gaze towards the tall building, she couldn't help but say, "So this is where you work."

Abbie gained confidence after hearing that from Elizabeth, puffing her chest forward and straightening her back, she said, "Yeah, I'm actually the..."

After she was done talking, she looked in front of her only to see an empty sidewalk, she looked behind her and saw the three's silhouettes, slowly fading in the distance.

...

Flynn went back to the HQ after hanging out with them for a while.

Entering a large room, his easily approachable attitude turned cold and the smile he's always wearing instantly disappeared from his face.

In the dimly lit room sat an old man with several guards in each side, taking the pipe dangling in his mouth, he began to speak, "Have you found them yet?" his deep horse voice filled the quiet room.

Flynn kneeled, "I have. They have been staying at an unnamed restaurant."

"*Cough* *Cough* Good, keep an eye on them."
