Hex shivered as he went through the forest, a strong biting wind was blowing from the east. He had gotten lost from Wraith almost as they entered into Rainham Marshes nature reserve. He could smell him ahead but the damn wind was making it hard to judge how far.
He decided to take it slow and keep his ears peeled.
Wraith crept slowly forward. Then from the corner of his eye he saw something dance across the floor. It was a ten pound note, then another and another. He froze still as he heard someone not 20 feet in front of him curse out loud.
"God damn this bloody wind."
Colin Larkin was a career criminal, but if there was one thing he almost loved more than money. It was horror films. His favourite film was Moonlight Howl starring Michael Ranson. He must have watched it at least 20 times.
He always wanted to dress up as a werewolf. So when the idea came that he didn't have to wear a balaclava but a werewolf mask to rob a bank he jumped at the chance.
Again he tried to stuff the money he had robbed from the bank into a rucksack but this damn wind kept blowing it out.
Suddenly a tree branch snapped behind him. He spun round to see Wraith pointing his gun at him.
Wraith gave a gulp, the guy was at least seven feet tall and wearing a bulletproof vest. He steadied his nerves and said:
"Nice night for it big man."
Colin Larkin took off his werewolf mask and grinned. He planned on going through the forest and onto the waiting getaway car that he had parked at the end of the forest. But there was something else besides stealing and horror films that Colin loved and which had earned him good money over the years.
Bare knuckle fist fighting.
He leaped at Wraith with a scream that would have made any werewolf proud.
