Chapter 2 - Getting Help

As soon as Miranda died, Evan left the house with his mistress. Taylor had been fifteen while Coco was only few months old.

Taylor took her mother's last words to heart and did everything in her power to provide for them. The landlord of the house kicked them out saying he couldn't harbour them any longer.

Taylor didn't cry or break down. Instead, she strapped Coco to her back and packed the few things they had left. Taylor went in search of a home but no one was ready to take them in,no one cared.

After hours of a futile search, the dark approached and with it an impending rain. Taylor was heartbroken, she didn't care about herself, she was worried about Coco, she was too young to suffer such harsh realities of life.

The rain had already started in small showers when Taylor came across a small dilapidated building. She knocked on the door and an old lady opened it. "Ma'am can you please help us. I and my sister have no where to go,we're orphans. Please let me stay here for the night, I promise I'll leave in the morning. I'm only worried about my sister, I don't want her to get sick. I can't afford to buy drugs now." Taylor pleaded.

The old lady smiled. "Come in dear, why are you standing there. You're getting wet." The old Lady said and ushered her in.

Taylor told the woman her story and the old Lady took pity on her. She told her she could stay as long as she wanted. Taylor thanked her and was really grateful.

Taylor went from house to house doing different chores just to raise money to support her new family, the old lady who she called grandma Donna.
