The sounds of someone being busy, roused Leon from his sleep. He had a blanket on him as he sat straight from sleeping on the chair. The sun was just beginning to rise as the windows to outside were beginning to glow. The smell of food filled the air as Leon's stomach begun to growl. Looking over Rin was near the fireplace, stirring a pan. Rin looked over her shoulder as she heard a noise. Without much to talk about she brought the pan over to two bowls near the fireplace and dished out the food. Placing the pan down she served the food on the table as Leon came over curious.
The bowl was filled with a mixture of mushrooms and plants but the fragrance was unlike what he was used to as the aroma filled his nose. Rin already begun eating with some of the carved spoons on the table. Leon begun to partake as well as they passed the meal in silence.
The food was delicious but Leon could barely focus on it as she watched Rin. The girl he met yesterday could barely be seen as Rin kept her head down and was quiet. Taking the bowls away, Rin picked up a small pack and carried it on her shoulders. The small fire in the fireplace died down and disappeared giving Leon a moment to give a second look.
"We will be guided out of the forest. Follow close and don't complain" Rin said factually. Going outside the cottage Leon kept with Rin's pace as she followed a route that he could not understand rhyme or reason. As it tried to trace his way back they came into a clearing. The dryad and nymphs had gathered.
"We thank you traveller for taking our Rin" Sylas said with a formal nod. The nymphs were tearing up as they were standing behind the dryad. Leon gave a nod as everyone focused on Rin.
"Thank you for everything these years" Rin said in an emotionless tone. With a slight nod she begun to walk off. Leon had to quickly catchup to her fast gait. Looking back at the group disappearing in the trees.
"You're amazing Rin, I didn't think you could keep it together" Leon said looking around. Rin stood at a stand still.
"Rin?" Leon asked. A couple drops fell in front of Rin as her hands clenched and shook. Letting out a wail Rin fell to the ground and cried in an ugly fashion sobbing her heart out. Leon could only wait as Rin let out all her tears. It was going to be a long trip out of the forest.
Sylas eye's followed the two as they walked away from view. Trembling she held onto one of the nymphs as the whole group started wailing at the departing Rin.
"Do you think I did the right thing?" Sylas said leaving the words hanging in the air, not directed at anyone in particular. After a moment the group turned back to the centre of the grove. Feeling a large hole had opened up in their hearts.
