They trotted along silently for a few hours. The weather was really humid and the sun was directly above their heads, causing Hayoung to be pricked by the scorching heat. The girl was quiet, not complaining of the heat but visibly affected by it.
Hayoung was tasked with making sure that the girl was safe until the final ritual was complete so he must take care of her needs during that time as well.
"Are you alright?" he asked. She was caged between him and the reins he held so he guessed the girl was probably feeling very hot. But to his mild surprise she shook her head.
"I am fine, thank you," she simply replied.
"Do you want to stop at a roadside stall?" he asked. The girl shook her head and kept her gaze ahead. But Hayoung was hungry and he wanted to stop somewhere. They would reach the village by nightfall and the girl was undoubtedly hungry but was too shy to speak up.
