Chapter 1 - I met them.

"nervous? my elder brother asher asked by carrying my belongings from car.

"naah"

but Actually i am nervous. From the past 18 years, i never went anywhere other than my hometown thirunelveli. I born and did my schooling in my own village where my dad is the panchayat raj . Now, everything is going to be different. I am gonna be a student of well reputed engineering college in banglore. I was super excited plus electrified by the fact.

"meera?" , my younger brother nitin shook me and smiled. "lets go inside"

They handled us room number 303 spare key. My brothers were analysing the hostel comfortability and hygiene . A girl crossed by us, asher turned to me and smiled. Meaning of that smile is, she is beautiful , try to get her mobile number. I smiled back, that means thats impossible, do it yourself. As we entered the room, two girls stunned by our unexpected arrival and managed to give an unwelcoming smile. Asher and nitin kept all my belongings on my hostel room and kept a sad face purposely.

"what?",i asked them smilingly.

"we will miss you ", they said together. This is the first time my brothers looked adorable and i hugged them. Tears felt without my acknowledgement. I know they love me a lot, but they never showed me like this. "you will be our first graduate",nitin said smilingly.

"but.. asher", i stammered.

"he never clear his arrears", nitin said and asher poked him.

"make our parents and our village proud meera", asher gave me his final hug and both started to move . I watched them going from my window, both looked up the building once and waved hand. I started loving my brothers more, sometimes distance allows us to realize true love rather than being together.

I turned from window and these both girls are looking at me like i am an alien. They looked bit confused,"is he your boyfriend?", a girl with long hair asked.

I was little irritated when she asked this question. I managed to keep a smile and answered "both are my brothers".

"so you don't have boyfriend?"now the girl with short skirt asked.

Before i could tell,"obviously she won't",long hair girl answered for me and both giggled.

From the time i entered here, i feel like trying to fix myself in the wrong place. My looks are not better when compared to them. I just unpacked my belongings, again they looked at me different.

"pickle bottles, garlic paste and mixed fruit jam. Are you going to keep shop here?", long hair girl wondered and analysed my bottles.

"wow, lemon pickle my favourite! but my boyfriend soman likes mango pickle", she kept that bottle close to her chest and sniffed. I smiled at her and she gave her hand.

"i am asha from kerala. ",she said and i felt that was obvious . The short skirt girl analysed my clothes,"you have only chudidhar. Dont you wear jeans and tops?"

"I will, but my mom packed all those and said no to jeans", i kept a pout.

"no worries, we can shop. I am riya from delhi"

"oh, i am meera from tamil nadu", i said and both exchanged some look which i couldn't interpret.

" i hope you never come to college with this oily plot hair", riya asked. i remembered my granny, who did oil massage to my head and made a tight plot so that no hair can escape during travel. I felt that greasy oil on my face and neck.

"I think i need a shower", i said them. riya showed me the way to bathroom and i had a nice hot shower. The water is little hard, not as soft as thambirabarani river water. After shower, i got relieved from the muscle pain that caused due to travel. .

"you changed your clothes in bathroom", riya asked.

"i used to" why they find me different in everything.
