The first period wasn't a class, but for the teacher and the students to meet and the students to introduce their self. Being the best school in the country, Seven Slates School had a diverse students' population including students from all over the world. That's why Noah had to spend all of his parent's inheritance just for the tuition fee. Of course, it was worth it as graduates from this school had a guaranteed scholarship from all universities around the world. Now, thinking about, Noah sighed bitterly. It sounded like all of it was for nothing as the Reversal wasn't something universities could operate during it.
However, Noah knew there was another perk for this diverse school. It was the students. There were many talents here to help him during the reversal. That's why his current short-term goal was to find people to join him.
"Noah Ezra?" The petite female teacher called out his name so that he can introduce himself. Noah stood up and was about to speak when the delinquents in the back started their ridicules.
"Kuh-retard-kuhm" It was the old childish insult through coughing. To be honest Noah almost laughed at their behavior. He didn't know why, but he felt like his mindset has matured a lot after the Blackout.
"Who was that?!" The teacher frowned and shouted. However, the three delinquents in the back were all covering their mouths so no one can tall who said it. Furthermore, these three were the class's 'wealthy but have a bad personality' kind of character so no one wanted to offend them.
"My name is Noah Ezra, please take care of me." Noah decided to let it go – for now – and focus on the bigger picture. The teacher looked at him and nodded.
"You three in the back, meet me after class." Noah was surprised that the teacher was trying to punish them as it looked like an unwise decision due to their background.
The delinquents also frowned but didn't say anything. Soon, the introductions were over. From their introductions and what Noah knew about them, this class had a lot of distinguished and 'unique' people.
First were the three delinquents. These guys were the young masters of major international corporates. They were friends due to financial ties between their backgrounds.
Second were the foreign students. These people were hard to get along with due to language and cultural barrier but were popular due to their unique characters and good looking appearances. This was the first time Noah met them as the first and second years separated natives from foreign students because of issues happening in the past. However, the last semester was also a chance for these young masters to make ties with each other.
Third were the geniuses. They weren't many, just three. First, Noah himself. Being an orphan, Noah has risen to be the first place student in the last two years. To be honest it also had to do with him being hardworking, almost to the point of doing nothing but studying in his free time.
The second genius was a science genius named Lia Ovens. It was different from Noah as she was a genius not in theory, but its application. She was an award winner for many of her inventions and research papers. Noah heard that she was fought for in major universities.
Third and last genius was Alfred, his best friend and the captain of the martial arts club. How the two became friends was a funny story. Alfred's background was a giant among giants as he was the successor of one of the nine martial arts clans in the world. However, since Alfred got into their school because of his martial talent, so he needed Noah's help to pass the exams. As a side note, he was prohibited from fighting. The least punishment for any violation was being expelled. That's why the delinquents had the guts to ridicule Noah.
The teacher began to explain the syllabus after the introduction was over. This semester mostly focused on extracurricular activities, events, and revision. These would give more credit for the students taking the International Baccalaureate exam.
Noah spent the last two and a half years of his life preparing for this exam. However, now the situation has changed. Although he felt regretful that his hard work didn't pay off, he would still be taking the exam. After all, the exam would be happening in three months, while the reversal is 10 days afterward. So it wouldn't hurt to take it just-in-case. Furthermore, there were rewards for the top-scoring students.
The first period was over and Alfred came over clearly enraged. "Don't worry about those three, I'll take care of them." Noah felt touched.
"Pft, don't. We're graduating in three months." Noah started to appease his friend when he got a new notification from the system.
[New Trace has been found: The Genius Team.]
[Description: gain the loyalty of people with 90% potential or above to help you during the Reversal. Potential can be examined by physical contact. Reward: 1 TP for every 1% of loyalty every month.]
[Notification. Potential: 91%. Loyalty: 60%]
[60 TP has been rewarded]
Noah froze in place and stared at his hand holding Alfred. The notifications were too sudden.
"Noah, why are you holding me like that?" Alfred backed away and made a scared 'victim' pose. Seeing him like that almost made Noah vomit blood. "Shut it!"
Alfred's jokes made Noah snap out of it and analyze the current situation. It seemed the Reversal can't be survived alone, not easily at least. Thus, Noah had to find a way to gather people, train their survival skills, and get stronger at the same time. After pondering for a few moments, Noah came up with an idea.
"I need to start a club." Noah rested his chin on his hand and muttered. He was also sharing this with Alfred.
"Eh? Start? Why now?" Alfred was taken aback as Noah was known as the Study God who didn't even join clubs to study.
"Alfred. I'm starting a club. I want you in it." Noah turned to his friend with a solemn expression and asked. He knew that Alfred was the captain of the Martial Arts club, but he also knew his friend needed other skills. That's why he was starting a new different kind of club.
The Survival Club.
It would be about researching everything about survival in the wild. Hunting, cooking, first aid, harvesting, and others. He knew the idea wasn't appealing as it sounded useless, but he needed to make it happen somehow.
"Okay, I'm in." Alfred nodded and smiled. Noah knew his current line-of-thoughts.
"It's not about studying…" Noah almost laughed at his friends enlarging eyes.
"Then no thanks! Can you do anything but study? I thought you'd give me some guidelines to pass the IB! Why would I leave the Martial Arts at this crucial time?" Alfred began his drama-mode.
The two spent the whole break arguing before Noah managed to coax Alfred to join in exchange for tutoring him. With this, Noah had one club member other than himself.
Noah decided to make a formal club due to a simple reason, the funding. That was the only way students would get funding from the school. Right now, Noah had no way to get money in the short term. So a club was the fastest way around that until he figures things out.
For the money issue… Noah glanced around the class during the second period of Geography. 'Student? More like walking wallets. Hehehehe…' The whole class suddenly felt a chill down their spines.
The second period was over. They revised what they learned during the last semester in summery. Their school was in Soshus, a neutral country in the Emora continent, one of the five major continents. It lied between the Weohan Kingdom and Eshary nation. Though at peace, there was some friction during the two a couple of decades ago. These two were the biggest among the six nations of the continent. The other three were minor in comparison to the three mentioned above.
The third period was a self-study. During which, Noah thought about how to spend his newly-gained 60 TP. He had three methods to pick from.
