Luna watched silently as Brian cut the Wagyu steak in his plate with elegance and full of etiquette. He somehow doesn't look like a regular man and he's a bit similar to a certain someone.
For Luna who used with Raymond's etiquette attitude, this is not something new for her, however, for tonight she finds it a bit different. Maybe all these years they often spend their time with the kids and rarely have dinner with only two of them.
"What is it? Your gaze could bore a hole on my face, you know." He chuckles and glances over at her for a second before he exchanges his plate with her. It makes Luna raise her eyebrow before she looks at the man with a question mark on her face.
"Eat, I already cut it for you." He smiles and lifting the wine glass to the woman in front of him with sincerity.
"Thank you." Luna thanked him and eat the small portion that Brian already cut it. Seeing how nice he is, she feels guilty if she were to hide about the fact that Raymond is here.
They already promise that there's no secret between them both. Each thing that happens in her daily life, she makes sure to tell him even though they live separately and far by thousand of miles.
"Hey, Luna." He glances at her and then averted his eyes, looking at the night sky from the huge glass window. Tonight he brings her to an exclusive restaurant in the middle of the city.
"Hm?" Luna replies while chewing the juicy meat in her mouth.
"Tomorrow's…my wife's birthday. Would you accompany me again this year?" He utters while turning his face to her. He looks a bit gloomy like the previous year when it comes to his wife's birthday.
Luna nodded her head. "Sure, I'd love to talk to her again." she smiles and continues to eat. It's been her routine to yearly visiting his wife ever since she knew him.
He's a good guy. His wife probably is the luckiest woman to have him. Luna did not have any expectancy for both of them will end up together in the future. Their relationship is basically because of their children. They completing each other's roles so that their children will have a parent love from both of them without feeling lack.
'Maybe, I should tell him.'
"Um, Brian," Luna speaks up after a few minutes they both silent.
"Hm?"
"That guy…" Luna put her cutlery and look at him properly. "Is here. He joining my tour group." Luna bit her lips a bit, holding her tears to start forming in her eyes.
Startled, Brian slowly put down his cutlery and reach her hand on the table. "Does he do something to you?" he asked gently.
Shake her head, she says "No."
"Thank god." He feels at ease a bit.
"He…doesn't remember my face. So, I pretend to not know him too. But, still..I'm afraid." Her voice a bit shaking that made Brian move his chair next to her while comforting her.
"It's okay. I'm here. I'll protect you if he does anything to you."
Luna nodded her head and looked up at him. "Thank you, but...I don't know how to face him after these years. Not after what he does to me, to my family, to my..son. I don't know what kind of face should I show him, he clearly doesn't remember me."
Brian silent for a moment before he calmly said. "How about you just treat him like other tourists in your group? He doesn't remember your face, right?"
Luna nodded.
"That's even better. If you keep being awkward in front of him, that'll only bring the suspicion to him. So, act natural. Like you're a different person from six years ago. You're a new Luna. You're not you from six years ago, you're strong and you'll be just fine."
"Are you sure he won't recognize me?" Luna asked. She had planned to do so, but she afraid that it will only agitate him to mess up her life again.
Smiling, Brian nods his head. "Yes. I am pretty sure about it. This morning when I saw you, I was a bit surprised, to be honest, you're looking so different."
Luna scrunched and tilted her head.
"You're not used to dolling up, but this morning when you put on that makeup, you look..different, like another person, but I prefer you without any makeup on your face." He honestly tells her his opinion.
"Hahaha...I thought I look weird as many people keep staring at me like I was a clown." Luna laugh.
Move his chair back to his place, he smiles looking at her. "I bet they were awed by your pretty face."
"I only use makeup once in my life and that's on my wedd-" She abruptly stops her word before she swallows a bit.
"Let's eat." Brian took the cutlery and start to eat as he pretends to not hear what Luna was about to tell him. He could guess the word, it's probably 'Her wedding day.'
Warily smile, Luna also continues to eat.
…
"Who are you?" a dim light background with a figure standing sturdy in the center of the living hall, looked so cold and no hint of sweetness at all coming from his face nor his voice.
"R-Raymond..it's me. Don't you remember who I am?" Luna stuttering looking at the man who she dearly misses.
She wants to hug him, kiss him but the person in front of her right now..is totally like a different person. She even scared to move forward.
"I asked, who are you? How did you get in here? Who let you inside?" He starts to take a step forward to her.
"I.."
"Babe, who're you talking with?" A woman's voice cut her conversation into an awkward moment between the three of them.
The woman only wears a bathrobe with damp hair and smell like a flower's scent. She then smirks at her and walks closer.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
"You know her?" Raymond asked with a bit surprised in his voice.
