Chapter 1 - chapter 1- Dreams

The chirps of the crickets and the soft hum of the of the creak near by would usually lull me back to sleep once more. However this time my mind was racing and sleep wasn't coming. Year have passed and the nightmares only grew worse. They use to be only vague but recently they have gotten to the point where I have a hard time telling them from the real world.

It's always the same. I'm chained up and behind some type of fencing. I'm taller but I can't seem to see myself and as the pain from my wounds set in a glow will appear before me. I will look up only to be stunned by a young girl who has tears.

She always repeats the same thing, "The next time will be different I promise. Your paths will cross early this time. You will live and survive." I would never understand her nor pay attention because I'd always be captivated by her golden hair and eyes.

Opening my eyes and stared at the sky. The rustles of the leaves behind me gave me a heads that someone was coming.

The shadow of my little sister loomed over me, "Brother what are you doing here?" She sat down next to me and tilted her little head to the side.

"I'm just trying to get away from everything and enjoy the peace a quite here. How about you? Why are you here?"

"I was worried about you and wanted to get away from Mommy, Daddy and Brother. They seem to be angry more than usual than before."

Reaching my hands towards her I wiped off the tear that was sliding down her check.

"AKI!" A scream broke through the peacefulness like a knife. There stood my father and brother both fuming.

"Dad, Kouta what's wrong?" I stood up a shielded Alisin while staring at them. This didn't go unnoticed by them.

Kouta stormed forward and yanked Alisin by her hair not caring that it was hurting her. I clenched my fist and grounded my teeth.

"Dad he's hurting her, if mom found out she'll be angry with you."

"YOU THREATENING ME BOY!?" Though he yelled at me he glanced at Kouta silently signaling him to let go of her.

"No sir I was not." I looked down at the ground trying to make myself appear small. It usually worked but this time it seemed that this was a bad day and I stepped into a battlefield, all alone.

Grabbing my arm he squeezed tightly and dragged me home. Kouta stood behind me smirking at he grasped Alisins' hand.

As our house came into view Dad shouted at Kouta to take Alisin home and get something to eat. Then he led me to the shed.

I bit my tongue to stop from whimpering aloud but he knew I was scared.

The shed was the real nightmare compared to what I dreamt.

Opening the door he threw me in, "Now you will stay here with no food, no drink and no light for the next few day. Hopefully this will teach you some manners and let you know your place here you bastard!" He glared at me, walked out closed the door and the sound of the latch locking was the last thing I heard.

Hours later the sound of laughter could be heard from the left while to the right the howls of the wolves notified me that the hunt had begun.

The rustles of leaves from the back of the shed made me back up to the door.

"Brother?" Alisins' soft whisper brought me back.

"What are you doing here! Do you want to get a beating!?" I spoke in a hush but harsh tone hoping to get it across to her the danger she was in.

She removed an old peace of wood and slipped in a slice of bread, a small chunk of meat and a water bag from gods knows were.

"I brought you something to eat and drink. Don't worry that a bag Daddy threw away because it broke but I asked Mommy if I could play with it and fixed it up. Sorry I couldn't get you a lot."

Grabbing what she gave me I smiled, "It's okay thank you, now hurry back inside and don't get caught."

"Mh!" The sound of she footsteps fading away and the laughter still going to the the left let me know that her disappearance went unnoticed.

That night after eat a bit of the food and hiding the rest in a peace of cloth in the corner I curled up to sleep.
