[Five days later.]
The orange light from the setting sun came in through the window as we sat quietly in my room, waiting till it was time to leave for 297's arrival.
"Are you sure its today?" asked Shirou.
Mayumi and I both nodded to reply to Shirou's question. We could feel that 297 had entered our universe. It was only a matter of time until he comes down to Earth.
"We should get going now." said Mayumi.
Mayumi and I flew over to the school leaving Shirou behind to ensure his safety and landed at the school grounds. It was the weekend, so luckily there was no one at school. Momentarily, a beam of silver light from the sky hit the ground in front of us. The light slowly faded away and a fairly large man in silver armour with his black hair leaking out of his helmet onto his shoulders and his pointy ears poking out the sides of the helmet. His eyes were a sharp glowing silver, simply looking into the struck fear into Mayumi and I, but we knew not to show it.
"So you're the guy that's after us, huh?" I said with a confident expression and tone.
"You seem confident, although you're nothing but a filthy fraud. I'm disappointed in you Mayumi, The Higher council will cast divine punishment upon you for not eradicating this plebian." replied 297 in a rough voice that suited his appearance.
I could see a drop of sweat dripping down Mayumi's cheek, from this I figured that this guy was not someone to be taken lightly. A silver aura started to glow around him with his eyes becoming sharper and brighter.
"Now then…shall we begin?" he said as gusts of wind poured from him and the area around us turned silver. He created a barrier before Mayumi could, but why would he care about the damage we cause to the school?
I formed my swords and Mayumi formed hers. I thought to myself, its two against one, there's no way he can win. Even so, I can't let my guard down if he's stronger than Mayumi, I may be stronger than her too but I'm still learning how to use my power.
He formed a shield on his left arm and a long sword in his right hand which was chained to his gauntlet, he put his left hand and left leg forward with his shield in front of him and his sword behind him. Mayumi held her large double handed sword with both her hands gripping it tightly in front of her while slightly bending her knees.
I also got into a fighting stance and as Mayumi and I leaped towards the large man in armor as he leaped towards us. I attacked him with my right sword which he blocked with his shield and Mayumi's attack was blocked with his sword. With a loud grunt he pushed us both backwards. With the force of the push I back flipped to land on my feet and sprung forward towards him again. While running towards him I quickly glanced over at Mayumi and looked at her as if to tell her to hold off until I created and opening. She nodded and stood where she was.
I reached 297 and began barraging him with one attack after another. The sounds of metal clashing reverberated loudly one after another as he managed to deflect all my attacks with his shield, his defense seemed impenetrable. I slashed my right sword to the left horizontally and my left sword to the right and kept on doing this with different trajectories. I had to keep this up so Mayumi can attack when his defense is down.
I kept telling myself that I had to attack harder and faster. At one point I was attacking with both swords simultaneously, I could see now that his defense was starting to break. Mayumi noticed this as well, she held her sword with one hand and gathered all her energy into it. The purple aura around her pulsed towards her hand, forming a ball of purple energy and the longer she did this, the bigger it became.
I was finally able to break his defense after countless attacks one after the other, I could feel myself running out of stamina. With my final attack, his shield got pushed to a side which created and opening. "NOW!" I yelled while leaping back. Mayumi immediately released The ball of energy that had accumulated in her hand and shot it towards 297 at an incredible speed which almost wasn't visible to the naked eye.
The ball had turned into a beam of energy from her hand to 297. Once it hit 297 square in the chest, it exploded on impact which threw him behind. The force of the explosion even pushed me backwards and I wasn't able to land on my feet, instead I landed on my back right where Mayumi was standing.
"Are you okay!?" she asked as I grunted while standing up.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied, "Do you think that got him?"
"I highly doubt it." she replied.
Momentarily 297 slowly got back onto his feet again. The armor on his chest and shoulders shattered and so did his helmet. He had a smirk on his face, as if he was enjoying the battle.
"I bet you're glad I put up this barrier before we began fighting." He said with a look on his face as if he were hiding something. I glanced at the surroundings and noticed that the whole area was destroyed by the sheer force of all our attacks, luckily whatever happens within the barrier doesn't affect the real world.
"But then again…" he said with the smirk on his face widening. I knew he was up to something but I didn't know what. He raised his shield in front of him and in the middle of the distance between us, Shirou appeared out of nowhere.
"Shirou?! But there's no way he could've entered the barrier!" exclaimed Mayumi. Shirou was facing us and had no idea that 297 was behind him. My body went cold, as I felt like something really bad was about to happen.
"Woah, did you guys teleport me here because the fight it over?" asked Shirou.
"Shirou! RUN!" I screamed and leapt towards him. Suddenly the sword of 297 flew towards Shirou from behind and pierced through him milliseconds before I could reach him. He retracted the sword back to his hand, thus was the purpose of the chain that was attached to the gauntlet. As I reached Shirou, he fell into my arms, he was stabbed right through the heart with no sign of life.
