Luna, I wonder if I scared her yesterday. I mean I did kill a man in front of her, but he was going to hurt her. I had no choice but to hurt him back. This is too much to think about, I'll just try to push that aside and worry about other problems.it's currently 10 A.M. and she's still asleep. I wonder if she's just exhausted from yesterday. Well while she sleeps I'll keep myself busy. I started to clean around my small apartment complex. I had a small kitchen I rarely used, a decent sized living room with a 44" tv on the wall and a black cloth couch right across from it, and there's my bathroom. It's all just simple really. I don't live a luxurious life but this small place is enough for me. It's my home and I could care less what people think. Now that I think about it my house is never really dirty. It's usually pretty clean unless I go through one of my lazy phases. But that's rare. I spent an hour on my couch just in my head. A knock on my door broke my trans.
Can I please just get a day where no one bothers me? First was Luna. Then, there was Miss Hagford and now someone is at my door. Please just be girl scout cookies. I opened my front door to see a tall figure covered in a long, black, leathery coat. Their head was covered by the hood and there seemed to be a shadow covering their face.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they aren't selling cookies. Well shit i could have gone for some thin mints. The person in front of me stook out their hand for a hand shake, "Hi, we are here to help with your problem." they said calmly. We? There's only one of them. And I can't tell if this is a man or woman. Their voice sounded like multiple people were talking at once and I didn't realize before but his movements seemed mechanical. I just stared at him. After a minute passed I finally pulled myself together and reached for his hand to return the gesture. "I have no clue what you're talking about. There isn't a problem and before something happens I suggest you leave." I tried to sound as threatening as possible, but as I did their grip got inhumanly strong. "Don't try to threaten us. We are older than the dirt itself and therefore immortal. Now let us see the angel."
Without hesitation I brought them to my room where Luna was still sleeping. The thing walked over to her and simply stared at her. It then moved it's head towards me. "She seems to be in a deep slumber. Good. That means we can talk without her getting defensive and attacking us." it's voice trailed off. What? Luna isn't like that right? I know she did something to those two guys from the alleyway but I don't think she'd just attack for no reason. "What do you want?" I asked, trying to act calm and collected. "We are here to merely observe this odd phenomenon. It is rare we see an angel on earth and what even more strange is that it has fallen for a human. Not just any human, one that can easily hide their sins and act like nothing's wrong. Isn't that right Sir Reaper? You don't kill for the fun nor out of pleasure but out of hatred and remorse. You kill someone and mangle their bodies. But you have never killed an innocent person. Anyone you have killed deserved it." after hearing that I tensed up. This monster knew every single detail about my personal life. "Don't worry, I'm not here to turn you in. I'm here to warn about what's to come. You have set off the balance of order by killing all those poor corrupt souls. You have angered the higher ups and your death is certainly near. Or it was." their voice trailed off again as they turned to Luna. "The future has changed all because you came across her. But that's not the anomaly here, what confuses us is how our soul already saw this new future before we did." it's voice seemed to get lower pitched. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared.
The thing began to move towards me and with every movement I could hear a clicking noise. Like gears turning into place. It held out it'd hand and offered a silver necklace with a caged red diamond. "This relic will come in handy when you need it. You will now when the time is right. Just remember to listen to your dreams. They are the key to yours and the angel's survival. We will be watching." as it said those final words it disappeared into a fine mist. I looked at the necklace. The jewel was glowing and I could feel the aura seeping off it. I put the necklace and and plopped down on my couch. What the hell was that? It knew about Luna and my dreams and about my secret. It had said that it was older than the dirt itself. What am I getting myself into. With Luna around are things like that being gonna show up more frequently? All these questions ran through my head but amidst all that one sentence stuck in my head. "Listen to your dreams."
All my dreams ever showed me was death and darkness. How are they supposed to help. As I layed there Luna walked out of the room.
"Ian? Are you okay? You seem worried." her voice was so soft, it calmed me down instantly. "I'm fine Luna just thinking about the future." i said as softly as I could. I felt her arms wrap around my neck as she layed on top of my back. "Don't worry about the future. Only worry about the present, because you have me to deal with." she giggled and rubbed up against me. After a minute had passed she began to sleep again. I wish I could do what she had said and not worry about the future but if that thing is right then my life is going to turn into a roller coaster of fuckery. Every corner I turn I'll see some guru magic and every alley I walk there'll be new problems. But that's okay because I'll have Luna right beside me. I'd be lost without her. With that I too began to sleep.
There was a smell of sulfur in the air. "If you wish to save her then let me in and take over your vessel." that voice… It seemed so familiar yet so foriegn. A girl's screams of pain filled my ears and rage shot through me. After that all I saw was crimson.
