In a school of magic like the elite school of Magic high, it is where the young masters and future rulers of Harmonia are being trained. Not just in magic but also to the rules of the world.
For the students, it is like a kingdom. They represent their families and their clans, struggling every day to become greater and to raise their rank, just as the family heads struggles to raise their family's rank.
In a kingdom, there is a king, there are princes and princesses. There are also the council who governs, the nobles, the normal citizens and so on.
Magic high also has those. There is a king who stands a top, the most intelligent and talented one. The one powerful enough to be called the ace of Magic high. In other words, the rank one.
There also the prince and princess. It is their duty to bring the whole student body together and also to represent the whole school.
The five council are in charge of maintaining the discipline. They are also the ones who take care of the school issues and to offer the other students some help if necessary.
The ranking system grants the students some authority as such that the rank one can open all doors and passages, and every student below him will obey him or her with the power of the key given to every student.
Magic high is alike to the outside world. Every student who studies there live inside a kingdom ruled by the greatest.
However, not everything is set in stone. Even if a student does not belong to a great family, as long that student works hard enough, everyone is able to claim the role of the king.
Magic high is a school full of competition, where nothing is impossible as long as you work hard enough.
That is why the libraries are plenty and full of space, as well as the training grounds.
Students can spend all their free time as they see fit as long as they abide the rules.
Students could also challenge each other to take their ranks. But only official challenges are accepted and the students must fight under the watch of the teachers.
Accepting a challenge is accepting a fight to death. As long as the students are on the platform, they are allowed to kill each other unless one accepted defeat, or lost consciousness.
But of course, whether it is the rank, a property, or rights, one can gamble it as long as both parties agreed they are same value.
The students are also divided into different classes based on their ranks. Those are the class A, B, C, and D.
But a year before, the special class called E was formed again as the second generation.
But it doesn't mean that because their E they are ranked lowest among all. Actually, it was the other way around.
E denotes Elite, the Extraordinary. E-class is a special class where students of great talents and where age does not matter. It is the class for the greatest.
And it that autumn day, at the first fall, the students of E-class shall start their second year in Magic high.
...
"Kishi, Kira, good morning!!" Airi, a boy with golden-brown hair with pink tips and beautiful rose-gold eyes greeted the twins excitedly.
He was waiting for them at the dining hall. And it seemed he already finished his breakfast while waiting for them.
"What are you doing here?" Kishi asked as he made his way and sat beside him.
"Kishi your always so mean." Airi said poutingly. "I haven't seen or heard from you two for the whole summer then you can't even be nice."
"What the hell did I do to you?!" Kishi retorted.
Kira timidly sat at the seat beside Airi while not making the slightest sound for anyone to notice.
Airi however, suddenly hugs her like a fluffy doll and his action apparently startled her. "Kira! Did you miss me? Did you!?" He abruptly asked. "I missed you too!"
To his surprise though, the tension around him is so awkward and so quiet it's depressing.
Clearing his throat, he changed the topic. "Well anyway, I came here to pick you two up. Oh, and Celes would be joining us in school too, right?"
"Of course!" A girl that is older than them with multi-colored pastel hair entered the dining room.
"Does my uniform fit me?" She shyly asked, showing them her uniform.
The magic high's uniform is a frilly pewter-grey dress. The ribbon on her collar and waist is green as she will be a part of the wind department.
The three stared at her for a moment, then Airi raised a thumbs up at her.
"It fits you just well." He said. "Though...it's one of the school's custom to change your clothing at least six times a day, so I doubt you'll be wearing that uniform often."
"I know...I'm still getting used to it." She sighed.
Celes was about to sit when she noticed that Airi's sitting between the twins and was talking to them both at the same time.
Unable to contain her fright, she suddenly jolted up, slamming the table.
She walked hastily towards Airi and dragged him by the shoulder. "Come with me."
"Why?!"
Celes didn't answer and only stopped when she confirmed they were far enough at the corner, gazing warily at the twins.
"Celes, what--"
"Shh! Listen to me." She hushed him, turning her head to keep an eye on the two. "You shouldn't do what you just did!"
"What did I do?" Airi was confused as he did not know what the situation is.
Noticing that, Celes sighed and begun to explain the situation to him. "You just brought them together, that's one thing you shouldn't do." She warned him.
"And why is that?" Airi stared at her.
He was confused. What's wrong with bringing them together? It took him quite some time to get used to talking to them both without leaving the other behind, yet Celes is saying that he shouldn't do that. Why?
"I'm really not sure how to explain it, but you shouldn't do it still." she shook her head. "I don't know what happened either but they hated seeing or talking to each other after that happened."
"What happened?" Airi questioned her again.
Celes tried her best to explain it, but with difficulty.
"So, you're saying that they got into some one-sided fight, then Kishi started ignoring Kira and she became depressed because of it?"
"Yes." Celes nodded.
"He's ignoring her?" Airi asked suspiciously.
"Yes. if you don't believe me, see it for yourself."
Just as she said it, Airi peeked at the twins and did indeed noticed that Kishi's ignoring her completely as they eat, while Kira's been peeking awkwardly at him every now and then.
"Just how the hell did that happen?" Airi asked. "They never usually fight."
"I don't know." Celes replied sadly. "All I did is bring Kira back to her room after passing out. When she regained consciousness, she was crying. Kira had been crying every night to sleep and she kept mumbling sad things while she's asleep. Kishi's acting normal though as if nothing's wrong. Well, except that he's ignoring her like she wasn't there."
Airi could not believe it. He had known them for a year now and he knew well that things like this rarely happen.
"Well, whatever happening is, it's very serious." He said finally after long silence. "Don't worry, I'll try to figure it out. At least I hope I could."
After finishing their breakfast, the four of them set off to Magic high.
Like always, they used teleportation as mode of transportation. They were still young and they haven't learned a high leveled magic such as teleportation yet that could only be used by great mages. So instead, they used teleportation crystals that is very expensive so it could only be afforded by the rich, A-class noble at most.
As they walked out of the magic circle, what met their eyes once again, is the familiar scene they always see.
