Chapter 66 - Chapter 65 Death spells

"Now, show me if you're really worthy of the Rose's name"

Kishi merely sneered at him and straightened himself. Unlike Airi he just stood there calmly, and rose petals gathered around him, whirling as the wind blew his hair.

"You know, if that's what you want you could have said so, and there's no reason to drag them into this"

"I have other reasons for dragging them here, and besides I also wanted to know what Kira is capable of"

"You need not to know that"

With that, Kishi disappeared from his position and appeared above him. Airi already predicted that and sliced the air toward Kishi's direction. Roses appeared in the wide arc he made and dashed upward. Despite him being in the air, with a small jerk, he avoided the attack and slashed Airi, but he avoided it in time by jumping backwards, while the ground shattered into pieces.

Before landing, Airi draw another wide arc and Kishi countered his attack by doing the same. As both their attacks collided, the two of them were basted away and was sent staggering backwards. None of them took a second and immediately dashed forward. The two of them aren't holding back at all. Once their katanas met again, even the audience was almost blown away by the great pressure.

After that attack, Kishi slashed him again, but Airi evaded it wisely and was twirling in the air. Kishi didn't give him a chance to attack or even land as he leaped forward and viciously slashed him. Airi blocked it in time, but because of magic, a thin line of blood was drawn in his cheek even though the sword didn't touch him. Airi merely grinned.

Kishi clicked his tongue, and followed another attack. He was growing impatient, he doesn't want that fight to last longer, not because it will turn the table against him, but he is more worried about Kira.

The two of them viciously exchanged slashes in the air before they finally landed. An explosion erupted behind them. It seems that the other two was also leveling up their game. But Kishi and Airi was still unconvinced that the two of them were fighting seriously. Unlike the two of them, Red and Kira decided to fight each other with magic spells, and because they did, both their devastating power would be obliterating the whole flatform, yet that explosion merely left burns on the ground.

"Who would have thought, you were this good with the sword" Kishi complimented him

"It's part of the Rose clan's fighting style , but I do still feel that long-range attacks were much better, what do you think?"

"None of it matters I guess"

The two of them studied each other for a moment.

"Let's finish this" said Airi

The wind surrounding them grew stronger. The rose petals that are around them doubled in number. A strong surge of magic was erupting from the both of them. Their eyes also glimmered even brighter, and Kish's became gold in spite of his eye being the same color as Airi.

"Hey...that's cheating you know that?" Airi told him nervously as he watched the rose petals

surrounding Kishi be covered with a thin layer of golden light, just enough for the color of the petals to be shown.

"What are you talking about? There's no rule we agreed on that I can't use other magic other than the rose" Kishi smirked

Bastard....

Not wanting to wait for Kishi to finish him off, Airi strode toward him and swung hid sword in a full three-hundred-sixty-degree and rose petals burst apart like an explosion of blossoms.

Though Kishi managed to dodge, Airi was confident it would reach him. But before it happened, a nasty smile appeared on Kishi's face. He seemed absolutely pleased himself as he said,

"Too late"

Airi was confused at first, then he realized "Wha--Red!"

Red quickly understood and casted an extremely powerful spell. He intends to finish her off instantly without giving her a chance to retaliate. The whole place turned red and even the sky. The spell's purpose is eliminating all enemies within range in an instant. After the effects of the spell is over, the caster will expect the ground to be still red as it is covered in a pool of blood.

The effects of his spell were instant that it all happened in a blink of an eye. Yet the twins are still faster than him.

"Release" they both muttered.

A humongous magic circle appeared on the ground. It was so big that the whole flatform in the stadium is entirely covered. Both Airi and Red's attack shattered along with the sound of a breaking glass.

It happened so quickly that the audience was stunned. They didn't understand what happened, it was just too fast.

Airi and Red were unable to move and the spell the twins casted would be obliterating them any second. Acknowledging defeat, Airi sighed in resignation. The sword he was holding vanished or one should say turned into petals and fluttered to the ground.

"Okay, we lose, you win, we give up" he said.

Kishi was taken aback by what he said and looked at the teacher referring the match. The teacher nodded and raised his hand before declaring the twins win.

The teacher glared at him as the magic circle in the ground glowed even brighter. It seems that it would be blowing up soon. Airi too glared at him.

"Why aren't you reversing your spell yet?" Airi impatiently asked

Startled, Kishi turned to him and shook his head. "I don't know how"

"You what?" Airi was somehow hoping he misheard it.

"I don't know how" Kishi repeated with a shrug.

This time, Airi's mouth fell open. Not only did he use an overly powerful and large scaled spell, he also did not know how to deactivate it. Why would he even use it in the first place?

The magic circle beneath them glowed even brighter. Several cries and moans are head from the crowd and they even closed their eyes, not wanting to witness what might happen next. Airi also closed his eyes really tight, half ready.

He was waiting for it, but it did not come. He slightly opened his eye, still expecting to be blown up any second, but he was surprised to see that the magic circle completely disappeared. Red and he can also move. He hastily looked around while he looked completely bewildered, he also felt a tinge of relief.

"Wait, wha-what happened?"

Has it gone off already? Did the spell fail somehow?

"Relax...It was lifted" Kishi said in relief as he looked at his delicate and soft hands.

He was relived to know that the spell didn't go off or they'll be in big trouble since the match already ended, but he was confused that he didn't know what deactivated the spell, 'cause he was sure it isn't him. He turned around to look at Kira as he suddenly realized something.

His sister looked at him then smiled. Then let out a sigh and gazed at Airi. The panic he felt earlier was still visible on face that Kira can't help but giggle.

"I'm the one who undid it"

"I thought you don't know how! Geez...that scared me you know" His legs finally gave away as he slumped hard on the ground.

"Nisan didn't learn it, so I learned it for him" Kira said coolly

"At least your better at that, unlike for this guy here" He glared at Kishi

"I didn't learn how to undo that spell, because I wasn't expecting to undo it anytime I use it" Kishi explained himself

"Why did you use it here?" Airi looked at him suspiciously

"That--"

"Why? Are you also expecting me to just let myself get roasted?"

Kishi finally gave in and avoided his gaze while looking guilty. Airi wasn't expecting an apology from him since he was prideful and will only apologize to Kira or if she told him to.

Airi sighed. "Just be careful alright, magic isn't to be taken lightly
