Chapter 1 - ||A Target in a Vast Sea||

Sim Yoon-Mi was one of the hottest search topics trending on the internet for the last few years. Crowing herself the Movie-Queen, and becoming the idol for all of the youth in City K– there wasn't one thing she flawed at.

Unmarried, surprisingly young, lavishly successful, flaunting family background, and dazzlingly beautiful, there weren't enough words to describe her. As the bright first eldest daughter of the illustrious Sim Corporations notorious in the Military prestige– no one dared to insult her. The epitome of a perfect celebrity.

In other words: Sim Yoon-Mi was a perfect catch in the vast, large ocean, that is. A perfect target. Perfect prey for a perfectly flawless plan.

"So she's the catch?" Hae Seong said as he briefly stared at Sim Yoon-Mi's profile picture on Kingstagram. Her eye-catching million-dollar smile filled up the entire page.

"Yes, Mr. Agent Seong. Though this one is quite a tough one, don't mind." the person on the other side of the phone answered.

"How come there isn't a single flaw about her? She doesn't even have a f*cking traffic ticket– is she even normal? Shouldn't she try hiding from the public and us?" Hae Seong commented as he skimmed through her biography about how many trophies and beauty pageants contests she had been winning.

"...an answer not included in the information. Besides this is one of the classified projects that Chairman wanted you to personally accomplish." the phone answered back.

"..." Hae Seong paused and then said: "Mr. Shin I am more curious as to why our Chairman would be looking for a woman like this in particular. Does our virgin Chairman look forward to hooking up with this little hoe?"

"Mr. Agent Seong, please refrain from adding vulgar adjectives to the Chairman's name." Mr. Shin said harshly over the phone. "As the Deputy Secretary, it is my responsibility to clear out any dispute–"

"Of course, Mr. Shin." Hae Seong said jokingly. "Then please use your duty to clean up after me. After all our Chairman was busy gunning for my head all my life." He chuckled over the phone.

"..." The other side of the phone went silent. Hae Seong smirked and then said: "Mr. Shin, you don't need to tell me that you're cursing at me through your head."

"Mr. Agent Seong, they are ready. Prepare to depart."

"Perfect." Hae Seong chuckled as he buckled on this seatbelt. He stepped on the accelerator as he hummed his favorite song.

"This is a perfect night in City K, to kidnap an expensive National Treasure."

"Cut! Cut!" The director's voice pierced loudly as he slapped the script into the palm of his hand.

Everyone in the filming crew slumped down into the floor right after the day was called over and the sun started setting. Everyone glared at one person responsible for putting them through this hell: Sim Eun-Hee.

Sitting on her Ice Throne, with her legs crossed, slouching on the back of her chair without the care of the world, with her earbuds on her earlobes– Sim Eun-Hee paid no heed to anyone's glare. She fiddled with her car keys as she sat in the shade looking at her phone.

"Sim Eun-Hee! Are you kidding me?! Why are you just sitting there without practicing your script!" an irksome voice called out to her in rage and envy. Song Jung-Ah ran up to Sim Eun-Hee in anger as she put her hands on her waist and pointed at Sim Eun-Hee.

"Hmph. You don't have to scream or waste your voice. Even the deaf can hear you." Sim Eun-Hee arrogantly pulled her earbuds out of her ears.

"Sim Eun-Hee! Do you know how many times we had to rehearse scene number five because of you!? We didn't even get a chance to move onto the next scene yet and here you're slacking off, not even trying to improve!" Song Jung-Ah cursed. Everyone followed her opinion and continued glaring at Sim Eun-Hee.

Sim Eun-Hee sat back in the chair and crossed her legs. Her image seemed to match the exact description of a 1950's billionaire's spoiled daughter. Compared to her twin sister's kind and gentle attitude, Sim Eun-Hee was the exact opposite.

Accomplished? She didn't even have an alias in the Entertainment Circle. Successful? She depended on her family's background to survive. Strong? Not that she knew. Intelligent? She wasn't taught that.

To sum it up, Sim Eun-Hee's existence contradicted Sim Yoon-Mi's. Everyone who knew Sim Eun-Hee always wondered how Sim Eun-Hee was even related to the illustrious, talented, and brilliant Sim Yoon-Mi. They were born out of the same womb at the same time from the same mother.

"Well, here I thought the reason why we had to repeat the scene was because of how many times your voice sounded like a dog barking in my ears." Sim Eun-Hee shamelessly answered.

"Huh?! Are you crazy!? Me? Barking like a dog!" Song Jung-Ah gasped in rage. A few of the people in the studio sent killer glares at Sim Eun-Hee's drama show. Song Jung-Ah's mood soured and fouled like crazy.

"Is there something wrong with my opinion? Or do you want to hear my enlightenment longer?" Sim Eun-Hee sarcastically answered. Song Jung-Ah clenched her fists in anger as she put her hands around herself and then asked:

"Sim! Eun-Hee! This is it! I dare to challenge you to a bet!"

Sim Eun-Hee looked at Song Jung-Ah in annoyance as she rolled her eyes and then said: "Like as if I want to waste my time challenging you."

"Ha! Don't tell me you are scared, are you?!" Song Jung-Ah snorted.

"No. Why should I be scared of lowly filth like you? I am just worried that you're going to pull off a cheap trip again to win. Scheming people like you do anything to reach the top." Sim Eun-Hee slapped her magazine close and stood up to stretch.

"Y-you! Dare to insult me!" Song Jung-Ah, "Don't you think you're being a little crazy?"

"Hmm? Me crazy? Miss Song, I think I am very sa~ne after listening to you yelling. If it were to be any longer, your family and you would be wiped off the Entertainment circle within days."

Song Jung-Ah bit her lips as she muttered: 'Ha! You depend on your family status in the circle, don't you? How shameless! Can't even stand on your own!'

"Sim Eun-Hee, why do you want to depend on your family status? Are you afraid that you would be nothing without it?"

Sim Eun-Hee's veins popped as she said: "I am the daughter of the Sim family, why would I be nothing? I am City K's treasure!"

Song Jung-Ah blankly stared at Sim Eun-Hee's sarcastic answer. Song Jung-Ah wondered where this idiot's confidence came from. 'S-she? She is the national treasure of this Country? Her!? The County would fall into ruins immediately!'

Song Jung-Ah and the others just cringed inwardly at Sim Eun-Hee's pathetic response. It was true that the Sim Family was one of the International Leading Companies that no family dared to cross– but Sim Eun-Hee was being too arrogant.

Her stubborn and arrogant behavior made them delay the trailer that was supposed to be released this month!

"Sim! Eun-Hee! This is my last warning. Don't act arrogant because you grew from a taller tree branch than mine! At the end, when the apple falls to the ground– we both are the same!" Song Jung-Ah scolded her.

"Hah?! I thought apples that are from the smaller tree branches fall faster and grow rotten before long!" Sim Eun-Hee said.

"Hmph? Did you think that? People always look for the Riper apples– you haven't even matured yet don't you dare talk back!"

"I heard that some apples don't fall far from the tree do they?" Sim Eun-Hee said.

"At least my apple could be picked up by someone rather than be hanging on the tree until the insects' peck at it! Gosh isn't that filthy?"

"Apples that fall to the ground too fast are decomposed by earthworms and snails. That means they need to clear out the junk first of course." Sim Eun-Hee talked back sneering at Song Jung-Ah.

"–If you cut off the tree then there would be no apples growing, would there?" The director interrupted. "Look the sun is setting, and it will sunset. Hopefully, everyone would have a great evening."

Pointing at the beautiful sunset across the lake– Song Jung-Ah and Sim Eun-Hee stopped fighting and gawked quietly at the scene.

Everyone in the studio thanked the director inwardly for stepping up and saving the Studio from being killed in this intense dirty apple war.

"Seems like this session was nothing but a waste of my time. Can't you believe it? Time flew so fast that I didn't even get a chance to perform my scene! Besides I had many other things to do!" Sim Eun-Hee stretched her hands and sashayed her hair.

Song Jung-Ah came to her senses and told her: "Sim Eun-Hee! You better come to the SuperNova tomorrow! I'll be waiting for your downfall!"

"See you there rotten apple lady!" Sim Eun-Hee childishly called waving her hand with her back facing the others and leaving the studio. Song Jung-Ah sneered inwardly and left the studio in the opposite direction.

"Miss Sim– where do you want to go?" The chauffeur asked innocently as he opened the limousine door. Sim Eun-Hee scratched her back in anger due to the heat and snarled: "Stupid! Today was supposed to be my family's wedding anniversary! Didn't I tell you yesterday? "

"Ah– this man's memory seemed to be strained after working for years." The chauffeur said.

"Please forgive this old man."

Sim Eun-Hee stared at the chauffeur and then retorted: "Then why are you still working? You should quit then!"

Sim Eun-Hee shook her head in anger to clear herself and then calmly ordered: "Drive me to OceanView Ave, Old man."
