"Haru..." She mumbled into the kiss "Help me take your clothes off."
"No" He shook his head and took a step back "What's wrong Haru? You don't find my body attractive? Are you feeling guilty about me being married?"
He didn't respond despite her number of questions "Why Haru? Why won't you touch me? Isn't that what we've always wanted."
What he wants? He didn't know. All he wanted was her but not in a toxic way. Yes he'd dream about sharing a bed with her, but he wanted her to be in a right state of mind.
Even if he does things according to her drunk wishes what would happen the next day they wake up? What would be her expression? She slept with a man that wasn't her husband. That's exactly what the Meilin he knew would cry over.
He covered her with a thin blanket then kissed her forehead "You need to rest Meilin. I promise you we'll do this someday...some other time but for now..."
She angrily shoved him with tears welling up in her eyes as she dropped her shoulders in defeat.
He lifted her up then placed her on the bed. She didn't want to look at him so she turned her face to a different direction before falling asleep.
In a few hours Haru knew he'd be in police confinement after what he had done to Bao. He'd be asked to pay a fine, he had the money but the problem was the news.
As soon as the sun went up Haru was in the living room, leg's crossed as he stared at the door waiting for the police to storm in with cuffs and the dog, Bao.
They were taking longer than usual, he started to wonder if the charge was dropped and why?
He heard the soft steps of bare feet approaching him. He turned back and saw Meilin dressed in her maid uniform but she looked disturbed "Any problem?" he asked.
"Good morning master Haru...about yesterday...Did I? Did we..."
"Nothing happened. if that's the answer you're looking for." The toned he used to answer made Meilin a little bit upset. "Sorry for disturbing."
He didn't says anything after that but before she could exit the mansion "Your divorce Meilin..."
Her heart skipped a beat as soon as she heard the word "Divorce..." She softly emitted but left without giving a proper reply.
Haru started to believe that she somewhat still loved him but he didn't understand how that was possible. Maybe she's afraid of something or someone. He thought of different theories but only Meilin would be able to solve the problem.
"Meilin" Haru slowly opened the door to her room "Ready?"
She shyly nodded. She was wearing one of those fancy dresses princess wore to a ball. She still had no clue of where Haru was taking her and why he required for her to dress formally.
He was driving her to his office. He pulled over at the parking lot and led her to his office. He turned on the lights and it revealed a table in the middle of the room, Candles holders in the middle and cutleries neatly placed on the laid table.
"For you my Lady" he said as he ushered her a seat and sat on his. Poured them both a glass of wine and served her. "Haru..." He was doing what she never expected him to do. Dinner at his office but in a romantic way.
"What's all this for?" she asked but typical Haru ignored by shading her questions with one of his own "What do you think about the place?"
"Why here?" she asked and he shrugged "Simply because I wanted a quiet place..."
"You ran into Bao...I suspect you both got into a fight. Your left eye still has marks from your scuffle with him."
He smiled as he ran his hands through his hair "Yeah" he said. He still looked gorgeous despite the left over marks from the fight.
Meilin took a bite from the food on her plate. She could feel the taste clearly as her eyes glittered by the amazement, she didn't expect it to be so good.
"You like it?" Haru asked and she nodded and her pace increased. "I made it"
"No way!" She said in disbelief. He laughed at her talking with her mouth full "Manners. You're cute any way"
"I'm so sorry" she covered her mouth and shook her head as she chewed before talking again "Manners...I got carried away."
"I brought you here so we can talk Meilin" Haru stood up as he walked close to the glazed wall where he could get the best view of the city, the night lights and the starry sky.
"Want to go somewhere?" He held unto her hand as she covered up her food and proceeded to follow his lead to the elevator.
They were on the roof. She was shivering from fear and the wind. "Afraid of heights? Just don't look down. What I want you to see is the stars above"
He placed his coat on the ground for her to lie down and cover up a little. He should've picked a dress with sleeves and not one that was too revealing. He could tell she wasn't comfortable with the long slits and openings but she really looked beautiful in the gown.
He would've loved to be seen on the streets with her but she wouldn't like that. she'd prefer a silent love life even if she's having an affair with a famous CEO.
"It's beautiful,"
"Not as you are" He said softly as he placed his hands on hers "Meilin...I love you" The hush sound of the wind went by and she pursed her lips "You don't know what you're saying...I'm sure you don't love me...maybe the drink..."
He got on top of her and locked her underneath him "No, I'm not Meilin. From today on wards you will be my woman. Whether you like it or not, I'm claiming you..." He unbuckled his belt as his trousers lowered revealing the bulge in his pants "Right here and right now."
