Chapter 1 - Nova Aeries

In the year 2372 humanity managed to send out its first civilian colony towards Mars, by 2683 the planet was terraformed and developed independently from Earth. Towards the start of the year 3000, there was mass migration towards Jupiter and Saturn as Earth's oxygen converters started to fall due to the lost technology. Within 2000 years humanity had control of three planets which they managed to transform to living conditions.

The new dystopia for humanity had its first major event in the year 6207 when signals appeared from a distant celestial body, they brought information about a new "reality" known as "Nova Aeries" where they invite people of all races to be a part of it.

After 20 years a gate appeared within each planet of humanity, the gates were set to open in three years which gave enough time for people to gather, around these portals were formed small cities where people set up seeking opportunities to exploit, one of them being Kimaris Kesarch, he was a 17-year-old boy who came to seek a better life for himself, he ran away from his parents as soon as he heard of the portal appearing.

With his measly credits, he managed to travel a third of Jupiter by exploiting peoples kindness and using them to achieve his goal. When being given a ride he would usually steal from the people in his benefit, however, sometimes it was noticed and he was left on the road to die. Kimaris however never stopped and through his year-long journey managed to mature and finally reach his destination with time to spare.

During this time Kimaris did odd jobs around the portal, he worked in shops and did whatever he could find, ever since nobody knew what "Nova Aeries" is going to be, he just tried to develop himself in preparation for anything coming this way, along with collecting credits to survive the next day.

As the set time came closer, then even more people arrived, at first, there were only a few thousand people, however, this rapidly developed to hundreds of thousands and then millions. Around the portal developed a large scale city composed of tents and small portable houses. Compared to the usual city on each planet which were mainly highrise buildings to save space, this was a drastic change for everyone as the city reached out hundreds of kilometres.

Rapidly emerged a new business of paying for protection, these people would take credits from people in order to protect them, as a result, huge gang wars started and around the chaotic city without any law enforcement and many people died before the portal opened.

Weeks before the time the portal was meant to open huge tremors stuck the planets, crevices ruptured the terrain and buildings fell. There was a huge uproar, cities which didn't make it evicted closer to the portal where there were fewer tremors.

On the final day, people were preparing to leave, tents and buildings were abandoned and everyone waited around the portal. Some people left, while the majority stayed. Those who left mainly came to profit from the new area where people would be easy to exploit.

The planets started to shake, some found it hard to stand but everything else was fine, unlike the last time. A bright light descended upon the portal where it lit up, there were suddenly storms around the portal, this was the moment the portal would open.

The light grew, it suddenly spread through the portal and stabilized releasing a humming sound. A person walked out. He wore what seemed to be a medieval armour, however, it was noticeably thin and lights illuminated the armour. He also stood at around two feet higher than the highest person in the crowds.

"Those of you who seek to enter Nova Aeries may now proceed, within an hour the portal will close and those who didn't make it will not be given another chance."

Right after the man's voice rang through the crowds the planets shook once more, as people looked up then space started to distort. Through these distortions came colossal space ships spanning hundreds of kilometres. These leviathan ships orbited the planets for a moment before releasing high pitch sounds followed by bright light beams targeted the planet. These lights stuck the planet and caused explosions and tremors.

Everyone panicked, not knowing what to do they all ran towards the portal. Being 10 kilometres wide it was easy for the millions of people to run through. As explosions rang out through the planets, people ran through the portal. Nobody knew what was going on, but they knew they had to go through the portal, therefore Kimaris followed everyone calmly and managed to run through the portal as one of the first people.

Running through the portal felt like he just left everything behind, he didn't look back but just went ahead only fighting for himself. He didn't know what would lay ahead, but, he knew that he was about to start anew.

When he walked through the portal, he appeared in a city. The surrounding buildings were made out of sandstone and the floor was warm through his shoes. He ended up next to the beach where the breeze blew against his hair. He felt like he was on holiday.

There was one thing different, in his pocket he had a card. This card had information about himself, it said his name, "Kimaris Kesarch" following with a number, right now it was 0. On the card there were also other sections, "Skill trees", "Quests" and the one he was on "Kimaris".

This was similar to an RPG he once played, he was also certain that right now he was in a world inspired by one. Around him were ancient building methods along with people wearing cloth clothes. Kimaris walked into the city where he got greeted by a street filled with stalls, it was noisy as people tried to bring customers over. As he was walking through he saw ancient weapons which he once saw in a book. They were sharp blades which allowed you to cut or slash someone, upon further notice nearly everyone on the street had their own sort of blade. Merchants held short ones, also known as daggers. Whereas some people buying items had longer ones, which were classified as swords.

As he thought about it, he got his card and looked at it again. There it told him how many credits he had, from his time outside the portal it must have converted whatever he had because he had a total of 550. With this, he planned on making some purchases.
