Before purchasing anything Kimaris first walked around the city, he knew that there wouldn't be a way out, therefore, he had to set up for the upcoming days as he figured out what was going on. He would need a place to sleep, food, water and if he were to stay safe he would need a weapon.
He walked around, first of all, Kimaris looked for a place to stay in. The first place he entered was a tavern when he walked up the counter he realised that he didn't know if these were real people or not, he also had no way to find out.
Upon conversing he found out that the rooms were 10 credits per night, he went to another tavern and found out that it was the same price for a small room. He rented it out for five days as a start, after getting his key he went back out and purchased basic foods like bread with a few fruits.
His final destination was a weapon stand he noticed when he first entered the city. Standing on the inside of the stand was a chubby man wearing more prestigious clothing than most of the other people in the village. On display, there were weapons ranging from swords to bows and everything in between.
Kimaris looked through the inventory of the stall, he had never used a weapon, therefore, he had no idea what he was actually looking for.
"Hey, what would a good weapon be for a beginner?"
The chubby man tried to ignore Kimaris, he simply wasn't worth mentioning as he didn't look like he could even hold up a weapon.
"Hey geezer, I asked you a question!" Kimaris spoke up a little bit, making sure that the vendor knew that he was there. The chubby vendor stood up and sighed while going towards Kimaris.
"For a beginner, you can't go wrong with a basic sword, but, if you want a good tip then don't bother with them. For a true beginner, I would recommend a spear."
Kimaris looked through the items once more, he noticed that there were four spears in total, "Tell me about the spears you have then."
The vendor picked up the first spear, it had a wooden shaft and steel-like spear-point, throughout the shaft were engravings giving the weapon a mystical feel. "This is a flame spear, the tip is made out of dragonite and the shaft is out of living oak, this will boost any flame skill trees you posses."
This was the first time that someone mentioned the skill trees, when looking at his card earlier there was a section for skill trees, but nothing was there.
"Geezer, explain to me what these skill trees are." Since the situation came about, Kimaris asked about it.
"You don't even know what skill trees are? Who even are you? Here in Nova Aeries, nearly everyone has some sort of skill tree. You can be either born with a specific skill tree or you can find them around. With a skill tree, you can learn the skills within it, for example, I have the inborn 'Flame Lotus' tree along with the 'Light Dagger' tree. With these, I can easily slay the monsters surrounding our city, I even managed to get to level 8!"
With this information Kimaris finally realised two things, the skill trees would be the moves he can use with his weapons, and the number next to his name also represented his level. "Tell me, is level 8 high?"
"Around this city? You can consider it pretty high, but, if you were travelling south towards the capital then level 8 is nothing. There are knights who are level 30 and there are even adventurers who have reached higher realms. Now, tell me how many credits you even want to spend."
Kimaris was astonished about this world, it seemed like it was a recreation of a fantasy RPG, however, he still probably knew nothing about this world. "I have around 300 credits."
"I should have known you can't afford something like the 'Flame Spear'. Alright, just for you I have this spear." The vendor placed down the spear in his hand and picked up another one, this time it wasn't as majestic as the other, but rather basic. The wooden shaft was smooth with a few lines going through it, the tip was made out of iron and really simple. "This may seem like a simple spear, however, hidden within is a short sword." The vendor then pulled on the bottom of the shaft, where a sword came out, it was the same material as the spear tip. "This spear costs 500 credits, however, I'll give it to you for 300 credits at this moment."
No matter how Kimaris was looking at this, it seemed as if the vendor was trying to gift him the spear for some reason. He shrugged this off and transferred 300 credits to the vendor through his card. He now only possessed a merely 150 credits.
If he wished to survive, he would need to collect credits, the only way he could think of right now would be to go out of the city.
