Duan Cai debated for a moment over whether or not to jump to the roof to investigate further or leave the situation alone. The teacher had never had a good relationship with Duan Cai in the past and if he suddenly barged into the situation without concern it could lead to a downfall to his own situation that he felt no desire to cause. He wondered why the cultivator was hiding himself in such a situation as to be the teacher at Duan Cai's school. Could the original Duan Cai have had ties to cultivators without being aware of his own surroundings in the past? The only reason Duan Cai was aware of it now was because he was a completely different person and was sensitive to such auras being around him because he was beyond the level of such a simple cultivator.
"Duan Cai, you fool." He said to himself as he imagined scolding the original soul of the body for his stupidity of watching his own surroundings.
A rustling noise came from below him as someone appeared. The figure was faint black and purple, but able to be seen through if one did not have high enough cultivation to notice the presence it would be completely unnoticed. It was like a ghost had appeared out of nowhere. Duan Cai smirked slightly at the sight as he knew the person quite well. It was the faint figure of the one who often followed him around. The ninja that was hired to kill him if given the opportunity.
"Did you come to spectate as well?" Duan Cai teased as he glanced back up towards the roof where he could feel the two aura's colliding with each other. It was not clear to him why someone was looking to fight Oliver Iker.
"You know why I'm here. I have no interest in your teacher." The man replied back bluntly.
"You know.. I have given it some thought and if you're going to keep refusing to give me your name I think I might as well name you myself." Duan Cai attempted to tease the man again.
He had thought the man would respond to having been told he would name him, but there was no response from him at all. It was as though the man felt nothing towards the idea at all and that made Duan Cai feel even more puzzled by the ninja. Did the man truly think nothing of the idea? What if he wanted to call the ninja Bunny or some other stupid childish thing just out of spite?
"Alright, Vail it is." Duan Cai stated out the name he was going to refer to the man by in the future.
It was not like Duan Cai could truly see what the ninja looked like to name him off of any specific details. The only thing that was visible of the man was a black and purple blur as if he was fading into the surrounding or fading out. To Duan Cai the name of Vail was simple and fit the situation perfect enough to work. If the man was going to be silent about it than he would take advantage of the moment and make the name stick. It wasn't like he could go around and scream "ninja!" every time he spoke to the man if he wasn't going to give up on stalking him everywhere. It had been a month at least since the man appeared because of his obsession to fulfill his duty to kill Duan Cai so he felt the man would remain around for a good while at least before giving up.
"Vail, did you know the teacher at this school was a cultivator as well?" Duan Cai asked while pushing the name out again to test the man's tolerance with it.
"Mn."
"Him and the other both seem decently powered among cultivators." Duan Cai muttered to himself while deep in thought. He had seen many cultivators the past few months he had been on earth and had yet to gauge the difference in mortal rankings for it.
"They are both masters so of course they are." The man sighed as if he thought what Duan Cai had said was childish.
It was not that the question was completely childish to a cultivator to hear. It was common for newer cultivators to not be able to rate the difference in power among the cultivation society on earth. When it came to Duan Cai asking the question though it was something that could leave any person speechless that had the knowledge because Duan Cai was already considered the Royal Dragon of the underworld. He was a walking powerhouse that could wipe an entire sect by himself if he was pushed to the brink by the wrong person. Could such a monster in cultivation really have no knowledge as to ranking? Did he cultivate under a rock his entire life? It was something that puzzled Vail as he glared up at the monster standing on that tree branch above him. He was hired to kill this powerhouse if given the chance and yet the powerhouse didn't even take notice of other cultivators enough to differentiate their own rankings in society.
"Mortal masters? That sounds rather intriguing." Duan Cai muttered to himself again as he closed his eyes. All of his senses heightened slightly so that he could focus in to the fight on the roof. He could feel the powerful pulse of auras clashing against each other. There was a faint scent of blood in the air and he could tell it was not from Oliver Iker, but from the other man he was fighting. From his senses he could tell that Oliver was pushing the other man to the brink of his life. It would not be long before the man either died or fled for his life.
Vail was aware that Duan Cai was tuning his senses to the fight on the roof. A normal person would have taken the chance to attack Duan Cai at that split second, however Vail was smarter than an average person and had been used for assassination jobs enough to gain plenty of experience. He could tell from a glance that Duan Cai was still using part of his senses to supervise him from below as well. It was not obvious to notice if someone was not looking closely enough. Duan Cai had his hand slightly turned to the side and was releasing a thin layer of aura around himself in Vail's direction that could easily pick up anything that touched the aura to alert Duan Cai the second Vail was to move in close. If he had taken the chance to attack and alerted Duan Cai he would a have easily found himself caught in mid attack.
