The rest of Duan Cai's day felt uneventful for him. When he made it home afterwards he spent his time in the garden behind the mansion. The garden behind Inferno Nexus was one full of flowers. Flowers were even clinging to the mansion wall and booming up the side of it. There was one place that was just open enough that Duan Cai enjoyed going to when he had the time to practice his swordsmanship among his other abilities.
He was silent in his movements as he would strike his sword movements in a quick and clean motion. The strikes were so fierce even though they seemed gentle that the air would at times be pushed back so strongly that the plants around him would weave and bend as if the air itself was shoving them aside with each stroke of the sword. Golden light enveloped his eyes as he slowly picked up his pace. Light starting to guide it's way from his eyes and down his arms until it was enveloping his sword. If Duan Cai was a dragon one would assume that the sword itself was one of his own claws that could easily cut down anything in his way.
Duan Cai's sword shifted through the air. The light was being guided at the tip of his sword with great concentration and focus. It was this exact concentration that caused him to not notice that someone was walking up from behind him.
"Boss!" Leon shouted from behind as he came to a stop just far enough to not be cut in half if Duan Cai was to turn around with his sword in the middle of practice.
"Shit! Shit!" Duan Cai lost his focus and the light at the tip of the sword was set loose just as he stopped his swing.
Light shot from the tip of his sword and flew across the garden. A loud explosion noise could be heard as the light slammed into the wall at the edge of the garden causing bricks and plants to scatter throughout the air. It was like someone had set of dynamite in the mansion's yard. Duan Cai debated in silence for a moment on whether or not he should feel guilty and decided to land the blame on Leon for interrupting him. The mortal should have known better than to shout at him during his swordsmanship. His abilities were not that simple to deal with.
"Get some people to fix the damage."
"Wh-What the fuck?!" Leon couldn't help but swallow reflexively as he watched the mansion yard rain grass, flowers, dirt, and bricks.
Duan Cai gently flicked his sword a few times as if he was trying to swish blood off of it before tossing it to Leon to put away. He had lost interest in finishing his sword practice after having been interrupted. It was not often he would use it anyways because his capabilities exceeded a need for one. The thought of going rusty with it was just something he wanted to avoid in case a day ever came for him to use one.
"What did you need?" He asked Leon as he started to head back inside with Leon at his heels.
"Right, boss, Lester sent word that he heard the Kaen's top man hunter is being pulled back into the city. It is presumed to be due to him being sent to deal with you himself. I would caution yourself if you do go out." As much as Leon wanted to Duan Cai to take his word to use caution he had no doubt his boss would not listen to him even though he said to.
"No need. If he comes just let him come and I will deal with him and get it over with just like everyone else that's tried to do things." He truly waved off the idea of acting like a scared rat in a cage.
"Boss," Leon could feel his veins on his forehead throbbing at the thought of his boss doing something stupid again. "if you make matters worse I fear something may happen eventually."
"I got this!" Duan Cai smirked and gave Leon a thumbs up jokingly.
"The Kaen's Phoenix, Juniper, is not one to be taken lightly. He got that name not only because of his fire aura being strong. He has high intellect when it comes to hunting his prey down. If he catches you off guard-"
"La Mia Stella, are you worried about me?" Duan Cai sighed as he walked into his lounge room and sat on his chair. His eyes rolling slightly as he turned to look at Leon's worried expression. He almost felt annoyance at how paranoid Leon was acting towards the situation.
"As much as I would rather refute the idea, boss, I do worry about you. You can be rather careless at times."
"Alright, I'll tell you what.. I will remain here tomorrow, but you have to do something for me." Duan Cai smiled.
Leon wanted to refute the words the second Duan Cai said them, but he knew if he did not listen than his boss was sure to go out tomorrow. In fact Leon knew that there was a chance he would go out the second Leon left the mansion regardless of saying he would not. There was no telling what Duan Cai would do the moment he decided to do something. The whole thing gave him the urge to punch something just to vent. He had to hold it back for now though while he did his best to contain his boss for at least a day while he could have time to figure something out.
"What are you asking me to do for you?" Leon slowly rose the question.
"Well it is simple really.." Duan Cai paused while thinking deeply.
"Sir?" Leon grit his teeth as he waited patiently.
"Do something about that damn cat that keeps making the dog go off. I'm tired of hearing it bark every time that thing wanders in here."
"The cat, boss?" Leon raised a brow at the seemingly ridiculous task he had just been given.
"The cat!" Duan Cai nodded as his eye twitched at the thought of hearing the dog bark again over the cat that would not stop showing up. His whole body shivered at the thought of that noise happening again.
