Chapter 45 - Team RILEY

The next morning of Soar High academy was a clear shiny day, the sun just slightly over the horizon as it illuminated the sky with color. The morning was quite busy, hover cars stuck in traffic, business building lighting up the kingdom as people rustly throughout the streets. Ivy was sadly stuck in Ruby's office. It was set all the way up at the top of the tower, the room was dull, gray floor with windows all over the room except the elevator wall. There were gears slowly spinning, different sizes all seeming to function as a clock. Ivy was being consulted by Ruby and Scarlett as the two professors were questioning a specific scene during the entrance exam: Ivy standing in front of the army of monsters with what looks like a Desert Eagle, firing basically laser bullets into the army. Ivy was forced into showing the modified Desert Eagle that Neo made and placed it on Ruby's desk, she was quickly dismissed by Scarlett after placing the gun down.

Ivy groaned in annoyance, she didn't understand why she had to leave Neo's gun here but she can't simply take it back. Sighing, Ivy turned away and walked out of Ruby's office. Ivy called the elevator before glancing over her shoulder: "I would like my weapon back as soon as possible, I don't think a pink and brown hair werewolf would like to know you took her gift."

And with that, the elevator came up as Ivy stepped in, waving goodbye with three fingers.

--------------------------------------------------

Ivy walked down the hallway that connected to the outside garden, she pushed open the doors as she was taken aback by the fresh air in the garden. She smiled lightly as she strolled through the garden, millions of flowers all over the ground, carefully paved brick paths and resting places made this garden like it was heaven. However, Ivy didn't come here to take in the scenery as much as she wishes, she was asked to come here by York to discuss something. She adjusted her ninja scarf, pulling it up higher as she could see the blond boy's hair.

'Let's hope this is worth something,' Ivy thought to herself as she approached York's figure, she wasn't lied that York's body was indeed prepared healthy. Every part of his body had at least a bit of a bulge of muscles showing through his clothing.

York noticed Ivy in his peripheral vision, he turned to face her figure. Ivy was very short than York, however, York didn't care. He smiled lightly to see the insanely powerful ninja Neko girl. He held out his hand as a formality. Ivy hesitated before giving York a firm handshake.

"Thanks for meeting me here, you probably know what team you're on right?" York's question confused Ivy a little. She didn't know what team she was on, she thought Ruby would have announced that. She shook her head, not wanting to talk towards this boy.

"Really? Well, here," York handed over his Scroll for Ivy to see what team she was on.

'Huh, seems like I was put on Lilith's team,' Ivy thought to herself, she noticed there was something on Lilith's icon, a golden plus sign. Ivy tapped the icon as she was given the text 'Supporter'. Ivy scrolled up to see that she was on Rosalina's team along with Lilith, her, York, and Eden. Smiling beneath her scarf, Ivy handed back York's scroll.

"So, what's this about?" Ivy spoke clear yet soft, she didn't understand why she was called to meet up with York. She didn't like her time being wasted over small things, she also has to help Lilith with her aim a little bit more under stress situations.

"You seem very strong and intelligent person, so I was wondering...I was wondering if you can help me," York admitted quietly, he knew he could be better at his swordsman skill but he felt like he was lacking something but he couldn't find what it was. He was also someone who didn't like admitting a lot of things that made him embarrassed.

Ivy was taken aback by York's words, did he seriously needed help and hinted at an insult?! Just from his looks, he seems like he would know a lot of sword skill and even able to use his mana into his blade at times. She also never thought she would be asked to do anything, she looked away to think. She didn't entirely see a problem with helping York but something seems a bit fishy. Damn it, now she wants fish. Ah, those tasty little fishy.

York watched as he saw Ivy's tail swaying and her eyes seems like she was seeing something delicious. He smirked a little, he did need help with his swordplay and he felt inferior to everyone. He saw people having sword guns and complex weaponry and with his sister wielding a sniper scythe, he definitely felt a lot weaker than he was.

"Sure but what's the catch?" Ivy asked she knew there was something that York wanted. She wasn't easy to persuade nor threaten easily, her eyes slightly glowed brighter. Her yellow eyes slightly illuminating making her figure full of mystery.

"I just want a weapon that can help between range and swordplay," York spoke calmly, he did want to try to use firearm but he specifically wanted to improved his swordplay. He smiled before his Scroll went off, Ivy's Scroll also went off. It was from Rosalina: she wanted to have a team meeting and needed to talk about something that bothered her.

The two looked at each other in the eyes, Ivy shrugged as she made her way towards the location Rosalina pinned. York followed behind as he started a conversation regarding what type of weaponry he should have. Ivy being very patient though the whole conversation, gave a few ideas of the basic sword modification she, personally can do without Neo but anything that seemed extremely complex was all up to Neo.

--------------------------------------------------

Ivy was leaning against a bed frame as she listened to Rosalina's talk about how they should have team attacks and a possible second in command if anything were to happen to her. Ivy was surprised to hear Rosalina talk to the group as if they were on the same level, she kinda liked being normal or average at times. They were in their assigned dorm, four beds, one window, a light stain-ish pink, darken red carpet along with a bookshelf, and two tables with lamps. It wasn't spacious but it wasn't crowded, the team assumed that these dorms were meant for a four-man team and not a five-man team.

Lilith nudged Ivy's shoulder as she whispered something to her, "When can we start practice?"

Ivy shook her head indicating that it may not be possible to train today, it may be the mid-morning but she had to do a few tasks for Ruby and help out with Neo for her super-duper secret project. She was definitely not going to be able to talk with Lilith or mainly her team but she does want to see where the team maybe if she isn't around much today.

"Okay, so what is everyone's Semblance?" Rosalina's voice broke Ivy's thoughts as she stared at her with a bit of nervousness. Rosalina took a seat across from Ivy and stared at her brother with black hair, Eden. "Eden, what's yours?"

"I can absorb damage that I've taken and apply it to someone or myself for a damage boost," Eden's voice was rough, deep and quiet. He seemed to be like Ivy in the sense of not wanting to talk or maybe that's just how this whole ninja vibe he kinda runs with.

"York?" Rosalina quickly picked.

"I can create elemental barriers as long as I'm in contact," York spoke proudly, Ivy couldn't be mad the guy. It was definitely a great Semblance to use, especially in tight situations that would be life or death.

"Ivy?"

Ivy froze in place as she didn't think she would be called up next, she didn't know what to say as she doesn't even know what her Semblance is. It could be anything for all she knows. Seeing the hesitation, Lilith spoke up, "Ivy doesn't like to talk about her Semblance, she a little insecure about it."

"Does that mean she doesn't know her Semblance?" York asked before anyone else, he was surprised, along with the others, that Ivy didn't know her Semblance.

"I'm gonna take a walk," Ivy excused herself before anyone else could say something. Lilith opened her mouth but instead of calling for Ivy, she followed her, leaving the siblings to do their own stuff.
