Chapter 3 - 2. Rosado

- M'Lord, Lady Aveline Fiore is at the door.

- Let her in, Hunteer.

There she was, standing in front of big golden and crimson doors waiting for the butler to open. She has already been here a couple of times but it is still quite intimidating. And her date was also... intimidating. Lord Lucio de Montoya. He was indeed a sly fox in the flock of sheep.

But Aveline never actually feared him because she was just the same.

- Bonjour*, M'Lord. I hope I am not late, my dear Lucio.

- Oh, not at all, Lady Aveline. How was your meeting with general Farris? He hasn't yet proven himself incompetent?

- His research is ongoing. It is indeed too early to talk about his incompetence.

Lucio was a gentelman. But such a gentleman that doesn't say a word without a subtext behind it. That is the exact thing that Aveline loved... no, admired about him. This feeling of the danger that pursues her in his mansion. It's like playing with fire. Altough Aveline did aknowledge the fact that she was not in love with Lucio, she was deeply intrigued and wanted to solve him. Like a riddle.

But sometimes when speaking with him Ave got a strange feeling of hazard... threat. Somewhere close, somewhere behind her back, breathing down her spine. It was awful.. ly attractive, this feeling.

Aveline's mother's main objective was to arrange Ave'smarriage with Lord de Montoya. Did Aveline want it? She was very sure of her answer. No, never. Playing with fire is nice... Untill it burns you. But for now she just wanted to have some fun.

Some suicidal fun.

- M'Lady... Do you wish to stay over for a brilliant dinner? My cook will prepare fresh duck for us.

- Oh, Lucio. Avec plaisir**.

* French. Hello

** French. With pleasure
