Chereads / Avoiding Love [Discontinued] / Chapter 10 - God's calling

Chapter 10 - God's calling

I stumbled backward, as the hordes of zombies came toward me. It could only mean one thing: Hell has broken loose.

If I remembered right from the otome game, Hell breaking loose, literally, means that God is truly at his final moments and the end of the world could be happening from days to a year, but sometime soon. The angels will be very desperate and there and then, they will finally appear in front of the heroine, all with their goals, motives and agendas.

It was also everything hinged on the heroine's choice. Whatever my choice, no matter against wishes, cannot be changed. Even Fate will not hold onto my choices and it's consequence.

I might forgotten several parts of this otome game (it's been a long time; sue me) but I remembered my dealings with those 8 males and with that knowledge, I will not make the same mistake twice.

Now, however, I need to escape from the zombies. I don't know about you, but brains being eaten by the zombies are not so appealing. That's why I always skip the 'game over' part of Plants vs. Zombies whenever I lose.

It felt... hopeless... until the 'swish' sound was heard and zombies were decapitated before my very eyes.

"We meet again... although I hoped under better circumstances," Percy said with a winning smile while cutting down some more zombies. Although he was helping me, I couldn't help but gasped under the violence that I was witnessing. It's just... I hate violence!

Then, out of nowhere, shots, exploding shots, came out of nowhere and exploded the zombies' brains out (if they had any). I had to close my eyes to divert myself from this damning violence.

This is about the second reason why I hated being reincarnated into this otome game!

"Alright, my Bunny~" It was Kaspar, who was seductively smiling at me with an arrow slung over him and firing more arrows.

The heroine at this point would be overwhelmed, for this unexpected help and out of the world scenes, but reincarnated, I was not, so had more sense to run away than the original who would have stood rooted in shock.

"I don't care what the hell is going on, but come on!!!" I said, as I ran like hell was on my heels, which it technically was.

Percy and Kaspar was fighting off the zombies, while I ran to find myself face to face with a... fire spirit.

'Hell is having a field day. Where's a water gun when you need one?' I thought, as the fire spirit seemed to be approaching me menacingly.

Squirt.

Water was sprayed from behind, as the fire spirit was washed to ashes. I looked up to see Scott and a blue symbol on his hand before it diminished.

Angels have elemental powers, varying. Mostly, they just try to obtain them.

"I never wanted you to see that..." Scott said solemnly.

"Well, mind explaining everything?" I asked.

"Well..." he tried to put it delicately, but a disturbance occurred in the form of a vampire.

"Excuse me, we were having a conversation," Scott said irritatingly to the vampire who simply flashed it fangs and lunged.

It was stabbed in the silver stake, and once falling, the savior revealed to be Kyle, who said, "Vampires must love you. Do you really smell so tasty?" Then,he noticed Scott who he nodded curtly.

"It's all happening, huh?"

"It's time, so-" Scott answered Kyle's question, and then was interrupted by Kyle himself.

"I know what you are planning, and you are not taking her."

"Take me? I'm not an object," I scoffed, the exact reason I hate men for now.

Kyle sighed, "If you only knew... and you should, we're-"

Groans were heard behind all of us, and we saw hordes of zombies. Apparently, Percy and Kaspar didn't do a real good job fending them off.

"Go, go! We will explain later!" Scott said. And I ran...

Truthfully, the boring thing about this was that I knew it would happen.

Percy, Kaspar, Scott, and Kyle. 4 more, and the prologue will end, end with the decision I should make.

Ever since Adam and Jev, I had already realized I couldn't avoid the cast. But I could avoid making love with them. There's still hope, if I couldn't use the desperate wild card, I'll have no choice to use other means. God willing...

Speaking of Jev... the dead don't seem to be behaving properly... skeleton hands were coming from the ground in this cramped alley. Dear God, this story is seriously going to hell itself.

The skeletons were, obviously, dead, and it's eyeless sockets seemed to be looking at me. The whole thing was creepy.

The scythe swished on them, and out from the darkness itself, came out Jev.

"The dead will stay dead," Jev spat out.

"How many more weird things are going to happen?" I asked loudly.

Jev... glided toward me, and put his cold hands on my shoulders, (I shivered) as he said seriously, "Plenty of weird things, but if you just-"

Jev was shoved off by another boy: Leo.

"What were you doing to her?" he asked coldly. I stared, never seen this side.

"Explaining the situation. Calm down, Leonardo. We knew this would happen eventually," Jev said calmly.

Leo loosened his hold on Jev completely as he said, "Yeah, I knew that..." now he said dreamily. Schizo and bipolar, how could I forget?

"All Hell has broken loose," Leo said.

Jev snorted, "As if I didn't know that. Krista, you need-"

But a cold feeling entered my heart and shivering in a way that Jev's touch could never done, Jev and Leo were holding their weapons tighter as... as... Dementors swooped in.

OK! Who's bright idea was it to bring the dark beings of Harry Potter series here? If I were alive in the other world, or manage to transmigrate back to my world, the first thing I will do is sue the producers!

"What perfect timing," Jev said ironically. I ran as fast as I could. 2 more...

A figure fell below in front of me, as I made only a few steps away from the nightmare and saw Adam. His face fell at the sight.

"If only I had told you earlier... you should have known... I-" Adam kept stuttering, just to miss a Dementor attack on him immediately and stabbed by Jev.

"Regrets later, deal with them first." Jev said irritably.

"Fine... but after this, you will have to choose!" Adam hollered to me, as I ran faster away.

Yes, I'll have to choose, but not the choice you are expecting...

I ran... and ran... hoping to get away from this damn alley and hating being the damn heroine when hands immediately held onto me. I saw this was Rex, and my heart sank a little knowing what this will mean. But I was ready for what is to come.

"To happen now..." Rex sighed, "Please trust me."

"Why should I trust you?" I asked harshly, never trusting or liking any of them.

"Because I know what is going on, and I can protect you..."

I inwardly laughed, 'But can you protect me from yourself?'

"Hell has really broken loose," Rex shook his head, "I have connections, I can keep you save."

But I shook his hand away from mine, "The only way I can keep safe is getting away from you," I said coldly.

Rex shook his head, "You don't know what you are talking about, Loverin."

"Yes, I do," I said haughtily, in more ways than one.

"Then, thank God I don't respect people's wishes," Rex said, as he took a firmer hold of me and ran away with me.

"Is this a kidnapping?" I asked offensively.

"Of course. I always love doing the wrong things for the right reason."

I laughed hollowly. Back then, he used to be my favorite type but reality is more cruel if I involve myself with people like him.

Groans were coming, hands were digging out. Nightmares were coming to life, as all the monsters came to town.

"Hell has really broken loose," someone cursed: Percy.

"We already know that," another person snapped: Jev.

"You are really popular this time, Bunny~" Kaspar came out of nowhere.

"Can we please focus on the situation on hand?" Another sighed: Adam.

"This will be all over soon," Scott.

"We will explain everything later..." Kyle said.

"By God's calling, this is really troublesome."

All the other 7 boys have arrived, circling protectively around me and fending off the monsters, but there were too many of them.

You know, I have always remained... passive... at the way of being reincarnated into an otome game. I never wanted it.

But look at this glass half full, you get another chance of life and fix your mistakes. You also get to have adventures. Isn't that what you want: adventures?

I sighed calmly, before regaling my surroundings. I wanted to die to get away from the capture targets, but dying right now when the fun is starting seems unconventional. I want to live a good damn life, and I want to set my plan in motion, with the hopes that it work.

So, please don't let it end like this...

Something was coming from my chest... a burning sensation and light seemed to radiate, from me... to the surroundings.

Once the light itself diminished, I opened my eyes for the monsters to be gone, and the 8 males to be... slightly different.

It was like cosplay showed up and turned them to angels.

'Which they are...' my voice chided.

"You truly are God's child..." Percy said in awe, his white wings flashing and his sea green eyes exurbant.

"Aren't we all?" I scoffed, "And where's Houdini? Because he sure loves making fun of you all. Angels," I snorted.

"Angels..." Kaspar said, then laughed, "You know, what's funny, Bunny, we are Angels."

I nodded, they seemed surprised that I took it in easily... and impressed.

"You aren't shocked... or disbelieving," Scott asked cautiously.

I snorted, "I might as well believe. Hell literally broke loose, angels exist. If I don't believe, I might as well lose my mind. As Kyle said, 'Reality's an illusion...'

Kyle smiled, while Leo asked in a dreamy state, "So, who do you choose?"

"Why?" I asked, "In fact, what is going on?"

"Hell has broken loose, angels have descended, God is sick," Jev started.

"Only one person has the power to turn the tide, rid the chaos, and choose the worthy one," Adam continued.

"The one, God believer, and God's descendant herself," Rex said, emphasizing on 'herself'.

"Me?" I said, a bit stunned, but this would make sense. Heroine has to be involved somehow.

"Yes, you, only God's descendant can unleashed that power..."

"And it is God's calling that brought us to you," Percy said solemnly.

"To choose," Kaspar amended.

"Chose what?"

"Chose who," Scott said, and they all say in the same unison.

"Choose the next God."

And with that, lady and gentlemen, the prologue has ended, the heroine has been brought up to speed, and it was time... time to live the life I was supposed to live in the first place, in this otome game or Heaven.
