Arianna Contos' POV
"What? I said I have a way to get it but you were frowning at me," I said as I was rolling my eyes at Lucas right now. We were still on the floor as I was on top of him before he was pushing me off. I clicked my tongue before I was off him.
It looks like he was immune to me after all.
I sighed before I was getting up from the floor and I was dusting off my muslin nightdress before I was looking at Lucas. He was staring at me with his darkened eyes.
Okay, maybe not so immune after all.
I was walking out of the dressing room before I was looking at Julian. When did he come here? Holy crap! Lucas was inside the dressing room and if the prince saw him…
"Julian, my darling," I said loudly as I hoped that Lucas would get the message. Julian was staring at the night sky before he turned to look at me.
"Adonia. I thought you were already sleeping but I know in my hunch that you are not so I was coming into the room without noticing you. I hope you are alright to settle in here," he said as I was moving toward him, trying to block his path of looking into the dressing room.
"Of course, it was more than I can ask for. So, what are you doing here? Have you come bearing some news for me?" I asked him before I was walking toward the pitcher that my maids put for the water to be served. But this time, I think wine would be appropriate. So, I poured down a little before I was giving a glass to Julian.
"Thank you," he said as I was nodding at him. I clinked my glass with him before he was sipping on his wine as his stormy eyes were focused on me over the rim of the glass.
"Hmm, I think this is delicious when I drink it with you,"
"Stop, you're making me blush," I said as I was trying to gain his attention. I was moving around him before I was caressing his arm as I was looking at the acropolis. It was such a magnificent city and I was living in it.
I cannot believe I was alive to be here right now.
"So, tomorrow, there will be a drama at the amphitheater. I was hoping that you would like to come?" Julian asked me as I was smiling at him, tapping my chin as if I was considering his offer.
Which I already have.
"Hmm, that would be a great idea. I would love to see those," I said as I was sipping on my wine. I was staring at Julian who was checking me out. Then, I realized that I was supposed to be in the nightdress.
"Sorry, I don't think that you would be coming here and I was not prepared for your arrival—" I babbled before I was trying to cover myself but Julian stopped me.
"It suits you but I cannot stay long. I don't think I can control myself when you're walking around me naked," he said as Julian was tucking my hair behind my ears. I was looking into his silver eyes before I moved out of his touch.
"Thank you then for telling me for tomorrow's plan. I can hardly wait," I said as I was waiting for him to clear his mind as Julian was nodding at me.
"Right, I should let you get some rest. I see you tomorrow then, princess,"
"And you as well, my prince," I said as I was bowing at him. Julian chuckled.
"You know you can call me Julian right? We're engaged after all," he said as I was clearing my throat when I was standing in front of the door before I saw some movement in the dressing room.
I hoped Lucas was not attacking Julian tonight for coming here unannounced.
"Right, I see you then. Have a good night's sleep, Adonia," Julian said before I was nodding at him. I waved at him.
"You too. Good night," I said as I was closing the door before I sighed as I was leaning against it. Then, I saw Lucas was looking at me as he was leaning against the wall in the shadows as his silver eyes were calculating me.
"What?" I asked him as he was shrugging at me. I rolled my eyes before I was moving toward the bed. I think all of these men coming inside my room was getting on my nerves now.
"What are you doing?" Lucas asked as I was yawning when I was feeling asleep right now.
"Sleeping, apparently,"
"But you said that you have a plan—"
"And I will do it once I got my rest. Can you not bother me right now? I am tired and I think I wanted to sleep right now since I have been doing something that was not on my daily routine ever since I got here," I said as I was sitting on the fur that was used as a bed. I turned to look at Lucas who was standing in the shadows still.
"Look, I said I have a plan. You just have to trust me on that, okay? So if you excuse me, I wanted to close my eyes. Good night, Lucas," I said before I was putting my head on the pillow and I was out cold instantly.
Maybe I was tired after all the shenanigans that were happening.
Lucas Dow's POV
I was clenching my jaws when I left Ari in her chamber. And to think that bastard was around Ari tonight and entering her chamber without any notice was not sitting well in my mind right now. I was making my way to the garden or anywhere so that I can sleep.
I don't think would appreciate it if I was to sleep in her chamber.
I was making a palace laid out as I was walking around the palace all night. The guards did not have any problem with me since I was the prince's guard. I guess I do have a perk of being under that bastard's command.
I was making my way toward the long hallway before I saw that 2 people were talking with each other. I leaned into the shadows as I was trying to catch what they were talking about.
"I don't think the prince will be strong enough to take you on. You're the one that protects him when you're still in service. It's time for us to take over this stupid acropolis and we will reign the world," one of them said before someone scoffed.
Someone that was I was familiar.
"Even if I did take him over, I don't think the people will appreciate me. They love the monarchs so much that I don't think our new way," Julius said before his friend was patting his back.
"Well, we have to wait and see then, shall we?" They said after that and walked away from the hallway. I was listening to the conversation when I was thinking about what Edmond said when he was trapped in the past as well.
"Now, I have to find that fucking gemstone and get it out of here before we were going to be destroyed by this revolts. I mean, what's up with that?" I mumbled before I was making my way from the hallway.
I did what I was doing before, taking out some plans and make sure that the palace was my place to play afterward. After all, the king and queen will be gone to amphitheater tomorrow with the prince and Adonia.
I gripped my hands when I was learning his invitation but I need to keep my anger in check. I cannot think of anything else and right now, Ari was everything that I can think of.
Well, I guess I know how Edmond felt about his wife now, I thought before I sighed as I was walking out of the palace to find the garden in the courtyard that I was standing with Andrea before.
And my eyes were playing a trick with me as I was looking at the night sky with moonlight shining on the garden. I was looking at the king and queen who were strolling along with the garden and the queen indeed wore the citrine in her crown.
I guess Ari was not lying after all.
I sneaked up on them without making any sound and I was looking at them. They were laughing and talking as they were strolling along with the garden as I was keeping up behind them. The queen sighed before she was leaning against her husband.
"I am worried about Julian, agapi mou. I don't think that he would be so…infatuated with the Oracle that he was obsessed with finding this faraway girl. And to think that girl was sleeping under our roof right now," the queen said as the king nodded.
"Do not worry, I will make an investigation about this. And if she was not who she said she is, we will execute her ASAP," the king said as the queen smiled at him.
"You're the best,"
"I know," the king said as they were walking away from the garden. I was clenching my jaws when I heard their devious plan.
No one, and I mean no one, will kill my woman when I was around.
