Lucas Dow's POV
I was smiling on the way to my room as I was getting inside the elevator when I met that person that I saved in the airport.
Ari, such a beautiful name.
I was unlocking the door when I stopped at my floor and I was looking at the watch to know that I will not be late for the dinner that Ari promised to give me. I dropped my luggage beside the bed and I went to pick some clothes for tonight.
I think I will go for the button shirt and pants. That will do.
I took the towel and went inside the bathroom and hopped into the shower. It was a quick one as I was drying myself before I was brushing my teeth and washing my face at the counter. It was nice and all before I went smiling and confident that I was not smelly anymore.
I went to grab my keys and card before I was out of the room and locked it. I was raking my fingers through my wet hair as the elevator dinged and I went inside before I was at the lobby again.
I was searching for that familiar brunette before I saw that Ari was sitting at the lounge with a book in her hand. She was reading something and I think that sight was…nice. I walked up to her before she was looking at me and smiled. She closed the book and stood up.
"Ready?" She asked as I was nodding at her before we were out of the lounge and into the restaurant that the hotel has. I was looking at the interior before we were seated as the hostess was giving a table for us.
"What can I get you to start with?" The waiter asked before Ari was closing the menu and I was scanning through it before I closed it as well.
"I will have a grilled fish with dolmades with orange juice," Ari said before she was giving her menu.
"And you, sir?"
"I'll have the moussaka with some olive oil on the side. And cold water for me, thank you," I said as I was giving the waiter my menu before he was out to place our order. I was staring at the restaurant.
It was moodier and sexier that was classic for a romantic dinner. Not that I was on one right now. Ari cleared her throat before I turned to look at her. She smiled at me.
"So, what brings you to Athens, Greece? If you don't mind I'm asking. I know that it would be too personal," she said before she was tucking her hair behind her ear. I find that gesture very enticing.
"Lucas?"
"Huh? Oh, sorry. No, I don't mind. It's just…hard to concentrate when there was a nice lady in front of me right now," I said honestly before Ari blushed. Then, she cleared her throat.
"Well, it's nothing really if you don't want to answer. I just want to get to know you better," Ari said before the waiter was coming at our table with our drinks. Ari took it before she sipped on it.
"So, I hope it will be okay for me to get to know you as well?" I asked as Ari was turning her brown eyes at me. I was hoping to look into it longer.
"Yes, that would be nice actually," she said as she was smiling at me. I smiled before we were sipping on our drinks as I was staring at her and Ari was staring at me over the rim of her glass.
The food came later and we started to have a chit chat about each other. What're your favorite hobbies? What's your occupation? etc.
"Wait," I said before I was dabbing my mouth as Ari was smiling at me.
"You wanted to tell me that you are a curator at the National Athens Museum? That's great. I would love to go there some times. I heard they have great statues of the Gods and Goddesses of the Greek Mythology," I said as I was looking at Ari. She smiled.
"Yes, that is correct. If you want, you can come to visit me tomorrow. I would be more than happy to show you around and give you a tour," she said as I was thinking back on my schedule. I was supposed to be on the other side of town before I sighed.
"I'm all booked tomorrow. But we can go after that. I mean, if you don't mind," I said as Ari was sipping on her orange juice. Then, she licked her lower lips as I was gulping at the sight.
How come a simple gesture like that can get me all bothered and hot?
So, it's an appointment then," Ari said as I was looking at her when she said that word. I chuckled before Ari was arching her eyebrow at me.
"What?"
"You said appointment,"
"Well, it is what it is, right?"
"Right," I said before we were looking at our plates. I was done, so did Ari. I signaled for the check before Ari took it from the waiter.
"I did say that I will treat you tonight. So, I will be paying the meals then," she said as she slid her credit card and she gave it to the waiter. I was looking at her side profile with a great view.
Her long, wavy brunette hair.
High cheekbones.
Aristocratic nose.
The long lashes.
The dimples that were on her cheeks.
And her hypnotic brown eyes.
"What?" Ari asked me as I have been staring far too long for comfort. I blinked at her as she was looking at me with curiosity. I smiled.
"Nothing, it was just that…you're so beautiful that I don't think I can take my eyes off you," I said before Ari blushed. I was smiling at her before I was taking her hand and kissed her knuckles.
Ari turned to look at me before she was breathing hard. Good to know that I have effects on her.
"Now, shall we go?" I asked her as she signed the check and took her credit card. She smirked at me.
"Oh my, you are an impatient man, Lucas Dow," she said before I was chuckling at her. She did not know what she was talking about.
"Why do you say that?"
"No reason but I don't think I mind that at all," she said as I was offering her my hand and she gladly took it. Her warmth was filling me up inside out and I think I don't want to let this to end. We were walking out of the restaurant as I was walking her to the elevator. I punched it before it dinged and we were inside.
Ari's hand was on the crook of my elbow before I was smiling at our reflection in the wall before the elevator dinged and we stepped outside of the room.
"Wait, you're on the same floor as me?" I asked her as she was nodding at me. She was walking to my room before she was stepping to room number 414. Now, this was getting better.
"So, you're my neighbor then," I said as Ari turned to look at me before she was smirking at me.
"Is that a bad thing, Lucas Dow?" She asked me as I was smirking at her. I stepped forward before her back was hitting the door as I was putting my hands on the other side of her face.
Her angelic face.
"No, I don't mind it at all," I whispered as my hot breaths were hitting her mouth. Ari's gaze was on my lips before she was looking at me.
"Lucas,"
"Luke,"
"What?"
"My friend called me Luke. I want you to call me that,"
"Well, am I your friend then?" She asked before I was shaking my head. Arianna Contos was more than that.
"No, you're not," I said as I was leaning closer before I was smirking at her. She was leaning toward me before something was dropping and we have stepped away from each other.
"Sorry," Alexandra said as she was picking up the vase that she dropped. I was closing my eyes before I was smiling.
"Well, thank you for a nice dinner then. I see you around?" I said as I was looking at Ari. She was smiling sweetly at me before she was unlocking the door and stepped into her room.
"If I can. Have a good night, Lucas Dow," she said before she closed her door and I was staring at the door. I was smiling like an idiot before I was walking back to my room before something was coming into my phone.
I took it out and it was the captain of Interpol.
"Dow's speaking,"
"Where are you? The people at the National Athens Museum has been calling for non-stop as you did not go over to the museum yet,"
"Well, I—"
"Get to work, Dow. Now!" The captain said before I sighed as he hung up on me. I was looking at the 414 doors before I smiled.
"Well, at least I have a good evening today," I said before I was off to my work.
