Edmond Lattone's POV
I was smiling while my hands were on Lyana's waistline as we were staring at the horizon of the see. We were on the ship right now, going to the Îles d'Hyères. It was an island that was off the coast of Coté d'Azure. I was breathing a happy life now that Lyana was mine, forever.
Except according to the state of France Law.
I sighed before Lyana was hugging me as she was looking at the dock. We have arrived at the island and we have the tour guide for our honeymoon. And I was not happy about that tour guide.
"Oh come on. Cheer up, love. It's not Louis will be staying with us. He was kind enough to give his summer house for our stay," Lyana said as my mood was not any better. Why would Louis be happy to give his house for us to lend?
"It's just…he's being too nice. We can go to the hotel," I said before Lyana laughed.
"Don't be silly. I think it's wonderful for Louis to offer his place. And you need to be nicer to him. He's my best friend,"
"And I'm your husband," I hissed at Lyana before she rolled her eyes at me.
"I love it when you're jealous. Maybe I reward you, later on, husband," Lyana whispered before her dilated pupils were on mine before someone cleared their throat.
And, it was the tour guide. Louis Devereaux.
"Ah, I see you made it safe and sound, Ana," Louis said before Lyana was kissing his cheeks. I was looking at him, brooding and trying to kill him in my head a thousand and one ways that I know.
"And you must be Edmond. Lyana told me so much about you," he said as he was shaking my hand. I arched my eyebrow at him before I turned to look at Lyana. She blushed.
"She did? I never knew that. I hope it was all good things?" I said before Louis laughed.
"All are good and I think she has a fascination with her husband,"
"Louis, shut up," Lyana said as she glared at her best friend. Louis laughed before he put his hands up in surrender.
Hmm, maybe I can tolerate Louis after all.
"Shall we?" He asked as we were climbing into his convertible before I was sitting at the passenger seat and Lyana was in the back seat.
"Now, for your stay on the island," Louis said before he was speeding off from the dock to his summer house.
We were looking at the tourists and locals alike as they were biking, walking, and enjoying the sun. I put my sunglasses on and Lyana was holding to her hat that covered her face from the harsh sun. Later, we were stopped in front of a small, quaint house as Louis killed the engine and he got out.
"Here we are! The honeymoon suite for the couple," he said before I was helping Lyana out and she was holding to my arms. I was looking at the house as it was a traditional house with bougainvillea around the house.
"It's so nice. This is too much, Louis," Lyana said before she smiled at him. Louis took her hand and kissed her knuckles. I wanted to pounce him instantly before he said the words that killed all the envy inside me.
"Anything for my cousin," Louis said before Lyana was smiling and smacked his chest. Louis then looked at his watch before he cursed.
"Damn, I have to go. There some urgent businesses that I need to attend to in London. I see you around then, Ana. Edmond," he said before he was running to the side of the road.
"Wait, aren't you taking the car?" I asked as Louis smiled before another car stopped in front of him.
"No worries. That's for your use. I will be going away anyway. Bye and have fun!" He called out before the driver was opening the door and Louis slid inside. Then the driver went to his side and drove off the car from our sight.
Huh, I guess he was wealthy than he showed to the world.
"Well, are you mad against my cousin, husband?" Lyana asked me as I turned to look at her. She was smirking wickedly at me before I was pulling her into my arms.
"Hmm, why don't you tell me that he's your cousin?" I asked before Lyana was moving to the front door of the house.
"Where's fun in that then?" She said before she walked inside as I was pulling the luggage out of the trunk. I was smiling at her swaying hips when I was walking inside the house and I was closing the door before locking it.
Lyana was taking in the house as she was sighing at the sight inside the room. I was happy to know that Lyana was happy but right now, I have another thing on my mind that would make sure we both be happy at the end of it.
I put the luggage down before I went behind Lyana and scooped her up. She shrieked before her hands were wounded around my neck.
"Now, where's the bedroom?" I asked smugly before Lyana laughed at me. It was music to my ears.
"Edmond, it is afternoon. I was thinking that we might go for a stroll after lunch. If I have to guess, Louis has stocked up the fridge for our stay," Lyana said before she jumped out of my hand and walked to the kitchen. I followed her.
"So, what do you want for lunch?" Lyana asked as she opened the fridge and she has been right. There were foods everywhere and I don't think Louis want to starve us.
"You," I said before Lyana glared at me but her eyes dilated.
"Edmond," she warned me before I put my hands up.
"Okay, the simplest thing that you can make so that we can get the stroll out of the way and I will have you all to myself," I said as I was walking near her. She hit the fridge before I went to kiss her. She was snaking her hands around my neck as she was pulling me closer.
"Fine, I will make boeuf bourguignon," she said as I was nodding at her. I kissed her again.
"Sounds delicious," I said before I was washing my hands at the sink. Lyana arched her eyebrow at me.
"What are you doing?"
"Helping my wife to cook. You don't think I would let you do all the cooking, aren't you?" I said before we were getting the stuff for the stew before I was smiling as we were working together as a team right now.
I was setting up the table when my phone was ringing. I went to pick it up from my back pocket and grimaced when it was an unknown number. I did not know anyone from Greece.
Unless…
"Hello?" I asked in Greek before I was looking at Lyana. She was surprised to know that I can speak the language.
"Oh, thank God you answered. Hey, Lattone, it seems that all the gems that have been stolen from last year and this year have been recovered and it was unexpected as well," Lucas said as I was looking at Lyana who continued to prepare the stew.
"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to sound surprised by the discovery that Lucas made.
"You see, all the gems that have been recorded under the crimes of La Femme Bleu has been returned to its rightful owners. And to be frank, The Louvre did not acquire it from a good source," he said as I was arching my eyebrow when I went to Lyana and I was holding her in my arms. She was leaning against me.
"How did The Louvre gets it then?"
"By going to illegal auction and stuff. But it was before Pierre Vouivre taking over and right now, he was trying to get the deal from the private collectors to display their gems at The Louvre. Isn't that interesting?" Lucas said as I was looking at Lyana. She smirked.
"Yes, very,''
"So, what are you guys doing right now? I was not interrupting am I?" Lucas asked before I was rolling my eyes at him. Lyana laughed quietly before I was sighing.
"We just arrive on the island and we were about to have lunch. Nothing of what you're thinking right now," I said before Lucas smirked.
"And what would I be thinking?" He asked as I was pinching my nose bridge.
"Why don't you find your wife and you see how it goes, alright? Good day, Dow," I said before I was hanging up and Lyana was turning off the stove.
"Lunch?" She asked me as I was smiling charmingly at her.
"You've read my mind, my love," I said before we were getting the beef stew to the table with a Bordeaux to compliment the dish.
It was delish.
