"I see you're still holding on to that key around your neck, you have no idea the power and importance it carries."
Goliath saw fit to chat with Avery even while being attacked from both sides. Even though Avery held nothing back, Goliath deflected his attacks just as easily as he breathes. On the other hand Jesshira was quite a bit more heavy handed however.
The dark Chimera's heel spun through the air with incredible speed and landed directly against Goliath's face. The sheer force blew Goliath back several meters, though he stopped himself from falling to the ground he was unable to block the barrage of punches that reigned down upon him relentlessly.
"You've been a thorn in my side for far too long, last son of the phoenix."
Goliath kicked out Jesshira's leg and pushed his shoulder with enough power to slam him to the ground. In that moment his wings stretched out to span an impressive 10 meters. In an instant Goliath shot up into the sky once more, staring down at his only son and the Dark Chimera with rage in his eyes.
"I can see that there's no need to hold back any longer. Now, allow me to give you a small taste of the true power possesed by the king of all demon kind! LET THE SKIES FILL WILL THE LIGHT OF A THOUSAND SUNS AND INCINERATE ALL WHO STAND AGAINST ME…INFERNO DAMNATION!!!"
The entire sky turned to fire so bright it would burn your eyes out just to look at it. The heat was so strong that anyone standing below would feel the hairs on their arms be singed away. It was like looking into a massive hurricane made of fire.
Jesshira knew this sight all too well, as this was the very power that Goliath used to destroy the city of vampires. All that remains is the desolate remnants of a civilization that once thrived just as the kingdom of Flames does now. For a moment Jesshira felt his heart sink to his stomach as he thought of the destruction that was about to ensue in the next few moments.
Just as Jesshira and Avery had thought the end was upon them, the entire sky above transitioned to amethyst and the inferno damnation seemed to be sucked into a void within the sky. Far in the distance the mushroom cloud could be seen as the fire erupted like a nuclear explosion. Everyone on the battlefield was saved from experiencing the horror of Goliath's ultimate power somehow.
Suddenly, a familiar face appeared behind them. It had been Cera coming to their aid using her powers to teleport the entire inferno damnation out into the wasteland where no one would be hurt. Jesshira immediately sensed a vast change in her demeanor. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was that was different about her though.
She shot a cold stare deep into Goliath's eyes emotionlessly, Cera had been sizing Goliath up to gauge just how dangerous he really could be.
"Jesshira, Avery. Brace yourselves, It's not over yet. This evil must be exterminated at all cost!"
Before Goliath was able to use his stone sight to turn everyone into statues a whip of lightning flashed through the air across his face. The streak of electricity was fast enough to catch him off guard, significantly wounding his right eye. Goliath covered his eye as a deep crimson red stream of blood seeped down completely obscuring his very line of sight.
Jesshira, Avery and Cera started to make way towards Goliath with death in their eyes and coldness in their souls wishing to erase his existence. Avery and Jesshira started their attack first.
Avery sprang forth with a blast of glass and fire in the form of a missile, while Jesshira summoned his soul blades with a thick purple aura swirling violently around him. A strong bright energy formed throughout the blades, from up close it seemed to be as hot as a supernova. Cera had lightning flowing though her hands arching off of her body like bolts of electricity shooting the ground in all directions. All of them attempted to attack at once to overwhelm Goliath.
The lightning from Cera and the energy from Jesshira's blades both blasted off in sync with each other while Avery's missile launched forward with great speed.
Goliath's last resort was to wrap himself with his wings which were as tough as the strongest metal in the world. All three attacks had met him and exploded against him with the most staggering force he had felt in what seemed like a century. The gravity of the shockwave pushed him back into the ground creating a crater in which he had to crawl out of. Beat up with broken shoulder plates of armor falling to the ground, Goliath scoffed at his opponents.
"Your teamwork is impressive. Good, you're going to need that in the future."
Though he was bested for the moment, Goliath still stood up with the confidence of a warrior as he spoke.
"Quit with the empty threats old man, we clearly have you beat this time."
Avery looked the demon king dead in the eyes with his own arrogant confidence firmly in place.
"Oh, you don't know what's coming yet. You all think of me as the evil villain, but I'm just a man willing to do what needs to be done. I'm preparing for a war against someone truly evil with power the likes of which you can't even imagine. Even with those 2 reincarnated gods over there, your power pales in comparison to the destroyer of worlds."
"Destroyer of worlds? What are you Talk- gahh!"
Avery was so caught up in what Goliath was saying that he carelessly gave him the time he needed to make his next move.
Goliath drew a complex magic circle that disappeared beneath his feet followed by a deep powerful rumbling that shook the entire planet like a supermassive earthquake.
Rubble fell from above like rain as crackling sounds echoed through the air.
"This is really bad…"
Avery looked up in wonder as the vibrations caused the entire castle to tumble over kicking up a cloud of dust thick enough to blind everyone present. If it wasn't for Cera's teleportation ability then everyone on the battlefield would be either dead or buried by the falling concrete blocks.
By the time the debris had settled Goliath was long gone, a fact which frustrated Cera and Jesshira to their core.
"He slipped through my fingers yet again that slimy bastard."
Jesshira seethed the words through his barred teeth.
"Relax, we had him on the defense. Even a fighter as strong as him will run out of tricks to play sooner or later. Next time we fight him will probably be the last time and I think he knows that as well."
Cera and Jesshira nodded at each other as a sort of silent agreement between the two. Meanwhile, Avery looked around at the disaster that was the aftermath of that battle. Dead corpses of demons and vampires laid to waste surrounded by mountains of broken chunks of concrete. The once beautiful courtyard that they stood on was now nothing but a frightening reminder of death itself.
"I can take it from here, the two of you should get back to Damien. It's time to ally ourselves with the grim reaper. Regardless of everything else the demon king said, one thing was true. The destroyer of worlds is coming, and I can personally confirm that we aren't strong enough by ourselves to face his army."
Cera responded with another silent nod before opening an amethyst portal in space time, this portal would lead them back to the valley between the mountains in the far north. It is here that she and Avery would finally regroup with the vampire lord Damien as well as the rest of their friends.
