After a brief conversation Jack decided to let Damien see Kayako. He figured if he was as knowledgeable about magic circles as he claimed then it was worth taking the chance. Kayako had been affected by a curse for several years now and it would be time to pass her title as Shinigami.
Poached on her bedside was a black bird that seemed to be her guardian of sorts. It eyed Damien for a while before eventually moving aside to reveal the Shinigami. He stood over her, a woman with long pitch black hair and pale skin. She looked as if at death's doorstep, it was possible that she could die at any moment.
"This is worse than I thought…"
Damien sighed with exasperation.
He began drawing magic circles in the air that revealed a red aura around Kayako's body. With a sudden flash a complex magic circle appeared over her forehead. It had so many layers that even an expert wouldn't know where to begin to unwind it. But Damien wasn't merely some expert in magic circles, he had been studying them his entire life. He had mastered the craft long ago, not even the king of demons could conjure up a curse that Damien hadn't seen before.
After a few moments a blue magic circle appeared overlaying the red one and dissolved it. Kayako's eyes opened up to see the light for the first time in decades.
"Who…are you?"
"I'm the person who just saved your life."
Kayako stares at Damien in confusion, a man who she has never met before claiming to have saved her life. She suddenly remembers her last moments from before this terrible curse took effect.
"Where…where is my baby, my daughter Sadako, I just gave birth to her!"
"Miss Kayako, that was thirty years ago, you have just awakened from a coma that you had fallen into not too long after your daughter's birth."
Just as Damien had finished explaining to Kayako what had befallen upon her so long ago, a beautiful woman with long black hair and fair skin with bright red eyes walks into the room.
"Mom…?"
With watery eyes she stepped a bit closer, much to the surprise of Kayako.
Kayako was taking in the moment and becoming emotional as she finally understood what was happening.
Sadako ran over to her mom and hugged her as tight as she could. Damien decided to let them have the room for a while, he stepped out closing the door on the warm hearted scene behind him.
