After I told Aqua that no one deserved my friendship if they couldn't except me, I turned away from them and swam somewhere they wouldn't be able to find me. Well, they probably could have if they would've looked hard enough, but either way, I'm happy they didn't.
They just don't get it. I'm not supposed to be a mermaid. I'm a human. I was born on land and even with the curse, somehow, I'm still able to walk on land. Even if it's only at night when everyone should be sleeping. I want to know who my parents are and I want to know if this curse can be broken.
And, if it can, then I want to stop being miserable!
I love Aqua and Aquarius. They were there for me when I needed them most. But, I can't just make THEM happy. I need to make myself happy.
I wish that somehow I could bring them with me but, I don't really think that's possible.
Finally, after hours of crying and swimming around lonely and bored, it's time to go.
I see Aiden waiting for me by the back door when I walk up. He looks over at me with a cute smile on his face before handing me a towel to cover myself with. I wrap it around me before walking into the house.
Calling out that I'd be right back, I run up the stairs to get a quick shower before getting dressed. I put on some underwear first before searching through the closet for a nice outfit to wear.
I finally decide on a nice blue sundress and some white flip-flops.
I walk out of the closet to see Aiden grabbing my bags that we packed up over the week. He looks up at me and smiles as his eyes scan over my outfit.
"You look really pretty, Bambi." He tells me.
I smile back at him, not even trying to hide the blush forming on my face.
"Will be right back." He says before rushing out of the bedroom.
I lay down on the comfy bed and spread out my arms. This bed is ten times more comfortable then the rock I usually sleep on. Actually one hundred and ten times more comfortable.
But, anyway, that's beside the point.
I close my eyes, enjoying the comfort of the bed while I wait on Aiden to get back up here. You know, we usually spend a lot of time in my room. We hardly ever leave it..
I guess I'm just not use to the luxury of having a sitting room or kitchen.
But, that won't be for much longer. I'm going to get to see a lot more than just Jacksonville beach.
"You look comfortable." I hear Aiden's voice above me.
I open my eyes to see Aiden smirking down at me. I smile back at him with a slight nod.
"I really am."
He chuckles before sitting down on the bed beside me. I look up at his perfect face to see him thinking about something.
"So, I was thinking."
Oh, God. Here it comes. He doesn't want to hang around a merhuman anymore and we're not going to figure out how to break the curse!
"Are you having second thoughts?" I ask him.
He looks up at me shocked. "What? No. No. I was just thinking that we should go to dinner before we leave."
"Oh!" That is not at all what I was thinking. "Yeah, sure. Okay. Where did you have in mind?"
"You'll see. I lay a few dresses out on my bed earlier so that you have something to pick from." He winks at me before leaving the room.
A few seconds later, he brings in about six dresses. I sit up and let him lay them nicely on my bed.
"Have fun. Oh, Kelsie is here to help you." And with that he left the room.
I look over the dresses. The first one I try on is a black lace mermaid dress. I chuckle at what I hope is an inside joke but, the dress was really pretty. I don't really like the feeling of it being so tight all the way down just about. So I quickly take it off and grab the next one.
"Hey!" I turn around and look at the person that startled me. I smile once I recognize her face.
"Hey, Kelsie." I greet her.
As I try on the rest of the dresses, Kelsie talks nonstop.
"You know, after that party, I was shocked to know that Aiden was still talking to you." She tells me.
I look back at her. "Why do you say that?"
"I just haven't seen him talk to a girl after a day or two. Its been like almost a month and a half and he's asking me to help you get ready for dinner. Are you two serious?"
Serious? What in the world does she mean by that?
"Um, serious? I guess so? I don't really know what that means." I admit as I pull on the next dress.
She giggles. "Like, are you two official?"
What is she talking about?
"We're close, I guess. He's helped me out a lot."
She claps her hands together. "You guys are so cute!"
I pull on the last dress before looking at her. "Um, thanks."
Her eyes widen as she looks over the dress I'm wearing. "That ones perfect."
I smile as I look at myself in the mirror. She was right. It is the perfect dress.
It was a blue and silver elegant lace floral slash neck maxi dress. But, there was one problem.
"I think it's ripped." I tell her as I show her that you can see my right leg.
She giggles as she shakes her head. "It's supposed to be like that. Its a slit. Aiden won't be able to take his eyes off of you tonight if you wear that."
"Oh." I spin around as I look at myself in the mirror. "It is really pretty."
She smirks. "Now, let me do your hair and makeup so you can go have fun."
I sit down on the bed and she begins to paint my face like that day at the party. Once she finished that, she moved on to my hair.
Once she was done, she runs to my closet and comes back with a pair of silver strappy heels.
"Put these on." She tells me and I do as she says.
Afterwards I stand up and look at myself in the mirror once again. And, wow, she did an excellent job. I looked like a model tonight.
"Perfect." She says.
