"So what have you decided", Chen Zhou hoarsely asks, bringing the glass once again to his mouth.
I eye him, sipping from my wine glass, noticing the wine glass' slight distortion of his face. He looked- in the only word that could possible describe it- ugly.
'Have you always been this much of a wreck?'
The Chen family's ex-young master looked haggard, an outgrown beard, bloodshot eyes and more than obvious eye bags adorning his face. An extreme difference from his charismatic former self.
Zhou Zhou impatiently clicked his tongue and with more than just a tinge of irritation, growled, "answer me".
Our eyes met, the disappointment on my little brother's face impossible to deny.
'Why?'
The thought lingers on my mind but never leaves my mouth.
A faint laugh leaves my mouth. "Don't you dare blame me, this is your fault." A single twirl of my wine glass leads to my reply. "You made this happen, this was your choice."
Young master Chen slammed his palm against the table between us, in the moment accidentally knocking his own glass over.
I take another sip of my wine, drowning in amusement by his aggressive behaviour.
"You have no one to blame but yourself, brother." I glance at the T.V diagonally above me and see a familiar silhouette. 'Oh look it's villain no.1'.
"Look at what you did to yourself, what you did to us. For what, a woman who doesn't love you?". I continue, a cackle leaving my mouth.
'Heh, how boring'. His glares were not a new thing by now.
I chug my wine, and soon after slam the glass on the table between us and stand to leave.
Zhou suddenly grabs my hand, viciously pulling me back, my waist slamming jarringly onto the table. "So what do you say" he looks at my with those eyes- those beady, unsympathetic dark eyes.
"No, I won't give you the money. I won't let you waste mother's efforts just to get on the good side of that witch." I tug my hand out of his hold and once again start walking away.
A jarred screech of a chair follows as he stands up, only to pull me back by the shoulder. He looks up at me with those puppy eyes, yet it only frustrates me more.
"Don't joke with me! Was it worth it, I've lost so much to that whore and yet you're still standing up for her. Look at how you've changed, you used to be an up-and-coming Vice President but now you're just a wreck. Grow up and learn some loyalty". I yank my shoulder back, leaving his haggard little sight behind me.
Little did I know, he wasn't done yet.
An abrupt flash of blood lust oozed out of my brother, his teeth gnashing as I leave through the club's front door.
It seems I was a little woozy as I bump into the bouncer accidentally while walking through. A large purple bruise already obvious on my waist between my skirt and short top.
'If she leaves, it doesn't matter anyways, the inheritance must go to me.' Chen Zhou smiled to himself.
Little did I know, the brother I cared for so much through childhood planned to rob me of my life.
I lean on a pole, tipsy while waiting for the pedestrian crossing to light up green. However through my wait, someone else wasn't so patient.
As I hold my head up, looking towards the road sign above, a shuffling of feet turns my gaze away, the figure of my dear stupid wreck of a little brother pushing me into the ongoing traffic greeting me.
The realisation hits me, this is my end.
'So you hated me that much, huh' a raspy breath leaves my mouth as a Land Rover speeds across the intersection into my falling body.
The collision knocks the breath out of me as I see a triumphant grin adorning my little brother's face before I slide across the tar- my body battered with grazes and a significant puddle of blood oozes from my left side onto the road.
I knew I shouldn't be disappointed. I was the one who expected to much of him, but a single tear still falls from my eye before I black out, only screams and screeching wheels left sounding in my ears.
