Chapter 79 - The Plan

Bjorn nodded his head, he could get that part, even if such things sounded a bit out there, but now he was thinking about how the people had not been able to see them, and why he had asked the one pirate to put stones on each of the boats in the first place. The fir that the guardian had randomly pulled out and then made disappear seemed to be the cause of their disappearing, but how did it work exactly.

"What do the stones do?"

Gordan snapped his fingers and they appeared at the top of the rocks once more, where they had been before the meeting with george. Gordan and the cat creature both sat down near each other and looked at one another.

"I made those on the way over here, they will take care of the ships once the plan has come to a head, don't worry about it at all. I will fulfill my end of the bargain you can count on that."

The three of them watched as the pirates continued to go about their business. George entered each of the ships for a routine check and came out with one less stone every time. He had also taken time to give the other piece of thread to his wife who accepted it without any question. When Gordan was satisfied that everything had gone according to plan he activated the cube like stones witch began to change shape and form into small humanoids which began scurrying all over the boat readying the preparations for the total destruction of the pirate group.

"Well, we should be heading out now. After all we have our own jobs to take care of you know."

Gordan turned Bjorns attention to the sea shore where a ship was setting in, a bit off the coast. Bjorn looked a bit confused but Gordan began to walk away from the entrance with the cat creature behind him. Bjorn shrugged his shoulders and started to catch up to the pair. When he had Gordan smiled slightly and began his explanation for what was going on.

"The fact is, there is a war brewing between both humans and monsters which will break out in a matter of months now that certain events have taken place which have caused things to be sped up. However, at this point the war has not officially begun so the nobles on the humans side are using this as an opportunity to collect intelligence on the monsters abilitys, as well as destroy their boarders and the trust of the people to throw the kingdom into a state of confusion and panic which would be easily taken over compared to the alternative."

He paused for a minute to give Bjorn a second to digest the information that he was receiving. He suspected that Bjorn spent most of his time either in the village or out hunting for food, so things of this field would not be his forte and too much information could lead to confusion of details later on. which was why he chose to do things in a more drawn out way which also allowed Bjorn to ask any questions that he might have on the topic.

"So why doesn't the king do anything about it? He is the king of the monsters, and this isn't the first time that the monsters have had an all out war with the humans, or is it that he is too afraid of the wrath of the beast?"

Gordan flinched slightly hearing the name which had been used for him in the past by the monsters who feared him. It had never been all that fitting of a name, since Gordan had never really done anything beastly while in the war, but at least it was better than some of the more colorful titles he had been given.

"The beast won't be participating in this confrontation actually, but that isn't the reason that the king is not currently making a move. The reason is that he is still trying to come up with the most effective strategy to deal with the problem without triggering the war prematurely, that and he is still gathering those who fought in the battle in the past."

Bjorn nodded his head in agreement on that, it only made sence that the king would be hesitant to go through another war given how the last one turned out. But still for the guardian to say that the beast wouldn't be participating was a bit of an odd claim to make.

"How can you be sure that the beast won't be taking part this time, and none of this really explains why there is something else that we have to do. I thought that you had already pretty much delt with the pirate problem with those stones?"

Gordan took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled, he felt a bit tired after using so much magic at once, his head was throbbing like crazy as well, but that wasn't really a concern at the moment.

"The first question is simple, the beast was executed around two weeks ago when there was an uprising. The second question has to do with what I have already mentioned. The village is being attacked partially due to the influence of nobles trying to get an edge in the war. Meaning even if the pirates are completely destroyed, the nobles can always find someone else to attack your village and all of the villages on the coast as well. So we have to deal with those who would be in charge of this areas attacking force until the king makes his move. However your contract only requires me to help with the pirates, anything past that is on the house so to speak."

Gordan didn't feel bad about telling Bjorn that the beast was dead, because as far as any of the humans or even monsters would be concerned he had been executed. The kingdom who had done the execution would cover up the fact that he had disappeared and the other kingdom that he had dealt with where the stupid hero had been had never really made the connection as to who he was. The only people that knew of Gordan's survival were Drake and the General who would most likely have nothing to do with the conflict. He didn't count Orion becouse he didn't really know of Gordan other than when they had been together, and even if he had Orion wouldn't bother dealing with humans unless it was necessary.

"Then do you intend to help the village with this problem?"

Gordan nodded and looked back to the shore line where there was a small boat being lowered down from the ship.

"Of course I don't like to leave things half finished. Though I do have some final instructions before I send you back to the village to ready everyone for the upcoming event. First make sure that when everything is said and done, that both George and his wife are safe. Second make sure that the village is secured for the next three to four days after the event, I have some meat that you can use so make sure that no one leaves the village until I come to get you after the event occurs. Thirdly tomorrow morning the pirates will make their move, by sunrise I want you and four other people to wait on the beach to witness what will occur, I recommend four but really you can all go if you want, just make sure that everyone is back in the village by noon. And finally, make sure that no one leaves the village under any circumstance after the event until I arrive back at the village."

Bjorn looked confused as to why the guardian had said the last rule more than once, but he had the feeling that he should follow the warnings to the letter.

"But why so specific about staying in the village?"

Gordan suddenly picked up the cat creature and handed it to Bjorn.

"The reason is, things are going to be quite dangerous during that time, and as I will be working on the solution I can't guarantee that the people will be safe if they leave the village. Now if you will excuse me, I have some work I have to do, see you in around five days!"

Gordan snapped his finger and both Bjorn and the cat dissapeared. Emedeatly Gordan ran his fingers through his hair casting a spell to change his appearance back to that of a human, but not his original form, no this time he would be wearing the skin of his alternate identity, The Dealer.
