Chapter 64 - A Truse For Now

As soon as he was back he emidiatly deactivated the spell and returned to his body gasping for breath. He looked up and saw the that the spikes were still embedded into Gordans body, but he seemed to be regaining consciousness. He saw in his hand that he had a bag in his hand and he could feel a steady beating from within it. He sighed in relief, and then heard a noise which made his blood run cold.

=Crack=

He froze and continued to look down at the heart, not daring to look up as the sounds continued to grow more and more horrific, until they suddenly stopped altogether.

=Sigh=

"Why did thay guy have to get in the way again. I should have known that somthing like this would happen."

The hero looked up suddenly and saw Gordan standing there, as if he was perfectly fine. His entire side however was covered in blood and gashes which should have been fatal. He could even see several bones sticking out at various points of Gordan's mangled body.

The hero suddenly felt nauseous as he watched Gordan's nonchalant attitude toward his injuries.

Orion walked over to him and looked at him suspiciously.

"Are you sure you're human?"

Gordan cast a quick spell to stop the bleeding and looked at Orion with a hurt expression.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I'm human. What would make you think otherwise?"

Orion snapped his fingers and an orb appeared next to him and began emitting a blue glow.

"Say that kind of thing after you put you bones back into your skin."

The bones began to twist back into place again making the same unpleasant sound as they had when they had first broken

"Tsk... You could have used a spell that was a little less painful, but thank you for your consideration."

Orion sighed and put his head in his hand.

"You... don't take very good care of yourself do you?"

Gordan shrugged as the last of the skin pulled back into place and was sealed over. Gordan rotated his arm testing it out.

"Wow, that feels almost like new."

Orion turned around to look at the hero who was stunned into silence.

"You and I both know that spell only stitches things back together, don't break the stitching since I'm not as good as others. Anyway, we need to deal with this little annoyance, what do you want to do now that your plan has been ruined?"

Gordan walked over to where Orion was standing and looked down at the hero.

"Well, since he felt the compulsion to help you out, you might actually have some talent as a hero, plus you technically won the game, so what will be your response? Will you continue to bother us, or will you agree to put this all behind us?"

He said the words and then used his hand to readjust his jaw which was slightly coming out of place.

"Like I said be careful about those stitches. It's like you are trying to undo all of my hard work."

Gordan succeeded in jamming his jaw back into socket and then tested it out to see if it was working again.

"Don't worry, I can promise you that for the time being and unless somthing major changes neither me or the king will cause you anymore harm. Besides I already got what I came for."

He looked toward Drake and the General and frowned almost definitely.

"But you two aren't wanted in this country any more."

With that he used teleportation and disappeared from veiw. Gordan let out a small sigh of annoyance, he had wanted to teach the hero a proper lesson but the idiot had destroyed all hope of that plan happening. So he guessed that he should be happy with the hand he had been delt, since there hadn't been any casualties on his own side and he had technically completed all of his goals. But it wasn't like they would be getting off Scott free, the mental damage that they had received from being in his inner world would have sever negative effects on their mental states after alittle bit of time elapsed. And while that wasn't enough for what they had done, he supposed he should be satisfied with it.

Gordan looked back over to the others who were standing a bit away looking shocked, suddenly Drake came forward and slapped Gordan on the back.

"Why did you have to go and get yourself injured for no reason like that?"

Gordan looked at him quite puzzled, and coughed up a small amount of blood.

"Do you really think that I would have done something like that without a reason? I was making sure that you wouldn't have to fight against me. Even with an idiot behind the wheel, this body of mine can take quite a bit of damage, as well as deal it. And I wasn't about to take the risk of one of you guys getting hurt."

Orion nodded but was still frowning a bit.

"I should have informed you since I kind of knew most of the plan other than the fact that he was going to impale himself when he said immobilize, but there wasn't much time to do so. And anyway, how are your injuries?"

Orion instantly cast spells which glowed with a soft green light, and healed the wounds slowly and gently, removing the poison from both of the individuals wounds and fully patching them up.

"That was a nice spell, but why didn't you use it for Gordan as well, the spell you used for him sounded extremely painful."

Orion nodded at Drake's question.

"Oh it was very painful, but I had two reasons for doing it that way. One being that his injuries were so severe that he needed almost instantly attention, and secondly, it was becouse he pulled that stunt and then recklessly pulled the spikes out without even stopping to consider the damage."

Gordan looked at Orion sadly And sighed.

"I wasn't being reckless, could have always gone with my original plan. But I chose this method out of consideration of my current condition."

Drake frowned and his eyes narrowed at that.

"What do you mean your current condition?"

Gordan sighed at seeing Drake's expression, it wasn't like it really mattered since it wasn't likely he would ever even see them again. But for the time that they had spent together, he had enjoyed it greatly. After what had happened with his own kingdom he had to wonder if this just ment that it was the next generations turn to find their way in the world. What ever the case, things would turn out how they would turn out.

"I recently had a surgery that's all, but after Orion's spell I'm feeling a lot better."

Drake shook his head and started mumbling to himself about how it was totally unbelievable that he was acting this way.

"So what do you plan to do now that you have accomplished your task?"

Gordan turned his head and saw that the General had come over and joined the group. Gordan tilted his head to the side slightly.

"After I finish up alittle bit more business I intend to go some place 'safe' but who knows if that will actually happen."

The General lowered his head then suddenly flinched as Orion cast a healing spell on him as well.

"Sorry I missed your injuries, but you should have asked for help you know."

Orion walked up to Gordan after he had finished and stared at him for a moment without saying a word.

"What's up? Do I have somthing on my face?"

He said it in jest, but Orion seemed to be concerned about somthing. Suddenly he put his hand on Gordan's

"You should try to take things easy for the next little bit. Your body is extremely overworked, I could tell that much when I was healing you. And frankly I'm shocked that you are moving around as well as you are. If you keep this up..."

Gordan smiled and nodded his head. He already knew as much from the condition of his body. In fact it had been that way ever since the king had surrendered to the uprising, everything that he had done in order to protect the people, and then they had acted the way that they had. He could say he was fine all that he wanted but the fact remained, he was still filled with rage over the event, and he could feel it slowly consuming him. His smile turned a little bit bitter and he patted Orions arm.

"Thank you for your concern, but it's nothing you have to worry about, My physical state is merely reflecting my emotional state recently that's all."

Orion nodded Seeming to be satisfied by this answer. Drake on the other hand looked at Gordan suspiciously.

"You realize that makes it even worse, right?"

Gordan smiled at him reassuringly.

"More importantly, what are you guys plans?"

Drake looked like he wanted to say more but the General got between the two of them, having understood Gordan's hint.

"To the eastern border, they are always in need of more manpower. I'm sure I should be able to find a suitable place to work there."

Gordan nodded and turned to Drake.

"So will you be joining him?"

Drake was taken back by the General's statement since earlier he hadn't known, he wondered what could have changed his mind so quickly. He saw that Gordan was waiting for an answer to the question but he had just planned to travel, so he didn't see why he couldn't go with the General.

"I guess if he doesn't mind me tagging along."

The General smiled rather happily and shook Drake's hand.

"I would be delighted to have you tag along!"

Gordan nodded to Orion and patted both the General and Drake on the back.

"Well now that that little matter has been settled, I hope that you enjoy the location, since I feel it is a nice one. Make sure that you take care of yourselves and watch out for any unusual figures, people in the east aren't always above the board.

He smiled at them and gave each of them a hug.

"It has been a pleasure to know you, and I wish you the best of luck moving forward. Hope you don't mind but, I don't think that the king would be to happy about you wondering though his lands, and the situation in the surrounding kingdoms aren't exactly the best, so just think of this as a parting gift from me to you."

They were extremely confused by his words but when they looked to Orion he smiled at them and hit the ground.

"Well it's more like a gift from both of us. It's been an honor to know the both of you, for the twelvish hours that we have known each other that is."

He waved his hand as the two of them faded out of existence. When they were gone he looked at Gordan and frowned.

"Are you sure that was the best thing to do?"

Gordan nodded his hand and suddenly fell to the ground in exhaustion. The mental fatigue was getting to him and he hadn't even been dealing with it for that long, which could only mean that he was really messed up to begin with. He looked up at the sun which was already going down behind the trees. Orion sat down beside him and let out a small sigh.

"It's been so long since I've seen a sunset, I had almost forgetting what it looks like."

He looked at Gordan and frowned, he was concerned for the person who had saved his life, and even given him a small chance of revenge against those who had wronged him.

"When I said earlier that you couldn't take much more strain I wasn't joking, you need to be careful in the future."

Gordan smiled and turned his head to the side slightly to look at Orion.

"I'd like to show you somthing before you head out to find the Winter March. Would you mind a small delay in your plans?"

Orion threw back his head in laughter.

"I've been waiting for one hundred years to return to them, what is another day?"
