Chapter 91 - The valedictorian for the 51st graduation ceremony is...

The graduation ceremony commenced with the final year students arriving at the venue in groups or two persons.

The site was very breathtaking as students donne themselves with beautiful clothes and accessories, looking refreshed and smart.

Guests began arriving one after the other. All kinds of people, both family and friends came for the ceremony.

Twenty minute into the program, the principal mounted the stage and gave a speech. He once again welcomed each and every person for gracing the ceremony.

After the principal's speech, there was a short music interlude before the next program continued.

When Emil, Daniel and Lina arrived, the program had already started and certificates were being given. Also, they were yet to enter the hall.

The certificates were being given from the lowest to the highest. Students with the lowest GPA were the first to receive their certificates.

As the names were being called out, students had their hearts beating as if they were about to receive the death penalty.

Some had their hands placed on their chests, while others had their hands joined together in a prayer form.

While all these were on going, Yvonne and Sandra were busy whispering words to each other. They would once in a while look to the entrance to see if their guests have arrived.

No, in actual fact, it was rather Sandra helping Yvonne to see if her(Yvonne's) guests had arrived or not. Because Sandra's guests were already in.

"Do you think they will come? Or to be precise, he will come? Sandra asked in a whisper

"I know they will come"

'He will surely come'

Yvonne whispered back, but said the later four words inwardly.

"Now, am going to call out students who ranked second class"

The voice of the vice chancellor alerted the two friends of what was going on. They were alerted because their focus were slowly drifting away.

"My chest is beating," Sandra placed her hand on her chest as she spoke, "do you think my name could be among the second class holders?" she asked seeming nervous

"Whatever a man sows, so shall he reap. So whichever class you fall in, depends on your effort throughout these three years"

"Yes, you're right"

"So don't think about it, just enjoy this moment." Yvonne looked seriously at Sandra in the face and added,

"We've done our maximum best throughout the academic years."

Thirty minutes later, the vice chancellor was done with the list of the second class holders. He turned off the microphone and went down stage.

There was music interlude before the first class holders were called out one after the other to receive their certificates. Theirs were handed to them by the Chancellor of the university.

...

"Now, I hand over the microphone to the Principal to give the last best three certificate to the students with the highest GPA's for our 51st graduation ceremony.

Cheers and applauses were being showered as the Principal mounted the stage. She was a woman in her late sixties, she smiled and took over the microphone.

" We made it!"

Sandra exclaimed as she smiled at Yvonne. Yvonne in return smiled back and nodded in agreement.

"The second highest first class holder is Miss Sandra Boat"

The moment Sandra's name was called, she hugged Yvonne tightly, "congratulations to us" she whispered.

Sandra took happy steps as she mounted the stage in her floral dress and received her certificate. She said a few words of appreciation before going back down stage.

"The valedictorian for the 51st graduation ceremony of this university is Miss Yvonne Adams !"

Three people entered the hall at this very moment. They were simply dressed in shirts and jeans, all three of them. But the only difference were with the colours and designs.

But yes, they were of high quality.
