Chapter 36 - Umberto Popov

After Larissa's public display, Lila who was expecting to cut all relationship with her family once and for all stomped her feet in rage. And after Larissa threw herself at Lazaro she simply felt the urge to kill.

"Hey! I'm here too!"

Lazaro widened his eyes in realization. Larissa, for a second, did the same, then coughed and composed herself, looking at Lila with a gentle smile. "Now, the big sister only needed to use this piece of wood, it meant nothing."

'How was that nothing!?' Thought Lila, but even with her limited sight, she could see that Larissa really wanted to believe that so she chose to not refute, after all, if Larissa really convinced herself of that or better yet convinced Lazaro of that, it'd be for the best.

Lazaro smirked amused at the small cunning on the young woman's eyes.

"Lila Popov! Enough embarrassing your family by being near that whore, come here!"

A deep grave voice thundered from way up in the stands. All eyes turned to it, it came from a chubby man on the highest VIP stand, on the other end of the stand Svletana and her aunt Masha was in.

He was Umberto Popov, the head of the Popov family, anyone who met him in his daily routine would say he was nothing more than a happy go lucky fatso. But those he knew him and his no to so hidden deeds steered away from his gaze and avoided doing business with him.

Lila froze. That voice, she sought the acknowledgment of that voice and also rebelled against it since young.

But as time passed, ironically in her worst times of drug abuse and hotheadedness she understood what her real use was for him and why he wanted her to be so much. But even then she was hopefull, she even planned to enter a rehabilitation house to turn normal again.

But knowing he was the one who so willy nilly sent an order to kill her made any attachments feeling disappear. She pointed her finger.

A flash of light momentarily blinded the high stands of the stadium. Svetlana opened her eyes expectantly watching where the lightning was aimed at.

After the roar of the thunder, Umberto Popov let the hot dog on his hand fall down with an opened mouth and wide eyes.

Three men were in front of him, two fried to unconsciousness while one was completely still, and casually shrugged his sleeves.

Thing stram os tears wen down her cheek as Lila walked backward until hse reached Lazaro She bent forward and swayed her waist side to side.

"I-I found anew daddy I don't need to listen to you anymore." She stammered and her cheeks and neck burned with shame, making her cry more. Feeling the people gaze she bit her lips and turned around embracing Lazaro on a hug.

"I-I thought I could do it b-but it hurts. Why does it hurt? I hate them!"

Umberto clenched his teeth, "Catch that girl and bring her to me! I"ll teach what it means to be a daughter of Umberto Popov!"

"Mr. Lazaro, please, would distance yourself from Miss Lila Popov?" Lazaro didn't even pretend to care and only caressed the young woman's back. "It's ok, no one can just cut off feelings like that."

Bosco smiled Awkward at Gerald.

"Lazaro my friend, it's not good to get in the way of familiar matters," Gerald said after coughing. No one dared to casually offend The Popov family head, he was one of them.

"...I want to go away." Lila said with a face buried in Lazaro'schest. Making him smile, he gently handed her over to Larissa and stared ahead at the smug Bosco.

"ENOUGH TEACH HIM A CRIPPLING LESSON!" Umberto yelled.

"Father don't!" Eleonor screamed and acted. Lila obviously cared a lot for Lazaro. But Bosco was already eager for action, he didn't hesitate. Eleanor shot three times and missed all three.

Whatever the Popov's head said didn't matter. Bosco wanted to teach Lazaro a lesson form the moment he saw him. He didn't know why, but he didn't need much more than the natural dislike to do it.

The world again went slow for him, he loved being in that state. Speed, one of the most sought powers in the world, and he awakened it naturally as if he was chosen by it.

Svletana on the stands smiled with interest.

Lazaro kept the green blur on his eyes ever since Bosco started to move. He observed how his fast the man was, the path he took and height. His understanding of speed is shallow, momentum is still an issue to him. Instead of solving it, he evolving around it.' Lazaro observed.

Bosco was five steps away from Lazaro 'I'll just punch him away, shattering his lungs will be enough, or he might die.. haha.' He pulled his forearm back as he planned.

His saw as Lazaro made movements as slow as a turtle and chuckled inwardly. But as Lazaro's form solidified his eyes widened.

His punch was already on the way, but Lazaro's palm correctly stood on his elbow's path as if he knew the future.

Thump!

Dull sounds of heavyweight rolling on earth resounded.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH! MY ARM! MY ARM!"

Svletana's wide eyes watched as Lazaro's arm stood firm and received the impact, like a spring it went to his chest but right then he stomped down with his left leg and was sent back, but he's back keg kept him from flying away. From afar she knew exactly what happened. He dissipated the impact evenly through his muscle dandification them evenly but lightly. the only drawback was the broken shin and arm. But changing her eyesight to the supposed high-class hero screaming on the ground like a little bitch made her smile widely showing her canines.

Lazaro looked at his broken arm and leg with a smile. Equilibrium is a funny thing, the more one moves the less control you have when something disturbs your mass. A well-timed downward light palm was all it took to shift the momentum of the man and sent him flying by his own speed and break his arm on the ground.

"Speed isn't so simple to handled like that," Lazaro commented offhandedly.

"KILL HIM! KILL HIM! OBSTRUCTING THE WAY OF THE POPOV FAMILY! DO NOT HOLD BACK!" Screamed Bosco from the ground, his eyes were red with rage and pain.

"MEDIC! CALL A MEDIC! LARISSA PLEASE HELP ME!" She pleaded right after.

Larissa did, she went beside Lazaro and warmth came over his broken arm and leg. Feeling the state of his body she frowned bad felt the need to ask. 'Why do things like these?' But the answer came right away. He did not have another option. Crippled as he was, using his body like this is the only way. But then she thought of why did he exhaust himself knowing full well how tired he'd be by the end of the day. Because from the very beginning he could just leave. Yet, he stayed, she wondered if became a cripple for similar reasons.

'He's stupid.' She nodded to herself. His hand landed on her shoulder and he pointed at Lila who was trembling like a leaf.

Lila saw Larissa coming to her and instead of sadness, she forced herself to show anger. Bosco was an elite. A real strong elite, she wouldn't have a choice but to follow if Lazaro weren't there.

She looked up at her dad with blood on her eyes. and pointe her finger a the still screaming Bosco.

A pillar of lightning shot up from her body and formed a five meters thin raging pole. The medics around him where just a blur to her.

"YOU KILLED ME! I'M NOT YOURS TO COMMAND!"

Lazaro watched mesmerized. "She really is a fast learner."

The thunder roared, thicker and faster than before. The medics went away after noticing Lila aimed at them.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHORE!!!!!!!!!!!"

The lightning hit the ground where Bosco was at, Miraculously Bosco jumped a meter to the right dodging the main attack, but the small snake bolts found their way to him, and a tattoo was forever etched on his skin.

Like the lamp that shone the brightest before dying out, Lila fell unconscious and Larissa took care of her.

The stadium became quiet. Yet again.
