Chapter 40 - I'm not at your level!?

"It's like this: A cultivation method is the way essence flows inside one's self. it shapes your very being and soul Into a specific way empowering some areas and weakening or disregarding others. If you built it the way I suggested, following your nature, you can reach limitless potential, you could even become something more than a god. But, it all depends solely on your character, If you don't have enough perception, endurance, patience and a strong enough will, you'll end up with worthlessness instead. And the difficulty of the natural path is the same as asking a person who never studied music to create a song because she heard it once on a bar.

Hyera saw the brewing cold on Larissa's eyes as she gazed onto Lazaro. For a moment she thought if what she was doing was right, they just became brother and sister after all, but then the thought vanished or m her mind, she had her opinion, he had his. this is merely a dispute between siblings, she needed a championess, and because his eyes were blurred by his crush on her, he didn't see her true potential and doubted er capabilities.

Hyera continued at her leisure.

"The common way of cultivation is to first find out one's own traits and attributes, physical, spiritual and disposition. After that, you require a cultivation method that most fit yourself. if you follow that cultivation method you'll be limited by its bottleneck. If you acquire a method that goes until the excelled mortal class, then you'll need another cultivation method, or you could develop the continuation yourself but by then your mind is already tied to the way of thinking of an already made Method. You'll be forever encumbered to the thinking method of finding the best cultivation method to follow. Although there's a more rewarding beginning, it pales in comparison to the natural path of cultivation."

As Hyera finished Larissa closed her eye and thought about it.

"She wants strength now, and even if she trains on a matching method, there's still a pretty wide door in the future, and if she can't do it herself. I can help." Lazaro said.

"How did you do it?" Larissa suddenly asked.

Lazaro found himself frowning for the thousandth time that night.

Hyera smirked openly on the side.

"... I'm a cripple, there's only the natural way for me."

"If you can, why can't I?" She retorted right away. Her eyes bore deep down on him, examing every twitch on his face.

Lazaro stared at Hyera sternly. She smiled at him. He changed his glance to Larissa. Her eyes were cold, but he did not feel that measuring words would solve anything.

"I used to win against spear masters with spears and swordmasters with a sword. If I'm left with nothing I can still create something. I proved that to others and myself, repeatedly. You're mentally strong, has the right will and extremely good talent, but, you cannot use me as an example."

He said it seriously, and unabashedly, there was not a drop of doubt on his tone. But that was what it irked her; his arrogance, his pride that was beyond the skies, he was there on the bed, locked in a crippled body riddled with bruises and heavy injuries and had a god sending people to kill him, yet he has the natural feeling that he was still beyond the level of most, he still felt she wasn't enough to reach his level.

"So he says, girl." Hyera laughed she knew Larissa was in her pocket.

'You must be Lazaro's wife replacement.' Ekadu's voice replayed on her mind. It was the last straw.

All emotions disappeared from Larissa's face. She never broke eye contact with Lazaro. Her words spilled coldly but gentle, like a winter breeze

"You don't think I can do it, because I'm not you? Because I'm not at your standard?"

"Yes! He once said, his level is not reachable. Either you're at his level or you're not." Hyera anxiously spoke while Lazaro remained silent.

Then he facepalmed. He was a teenager trying to establish a name when he said that.

Larissa momentarily dismissed that, regardless of what or who Lazaro and Hyera were, the smiling bastard did not believe she could achieve the same level as him, worst of all that is he said it while being in a weaker state than her!

Without any other words. Larissa cut her palm open and extended it. Hyera hurriedly did the same. They clasped hands, the golden light shone. Lazaro watched as they both were encased in a golden cocoon.

As it broke and dissipated Larissa's life attributed essence gained a divine affinity to it. while Hyera's presence became much more pronounced. They became a goddess and her championess set.

"I'll never allow myself to be weaker than you," Larissa stated resolutely.

"Whoa!"

"Sorry!"

"Hum."

Three different voices came into the room with the sound of an opening door.

Silver was startled. Lila laughed awkwardly. Lucas merely looked them, got up and nodded sternly, grunting as a greeting.

He adjusted the collar of his shirt then his eyes fell on Hyera. He froze, HEr hairs was a long light blonde that seemed ethereal, coupled with her very light green eyes, he found himself enchanted with an open mouth.

She blinked. "What?"

"...You're really beautiful."

Hyera blinked. "So? Do you want to marry me?" She smirked and threw her chest forward.

"... It's better if we got to know each other better first. Rather, I want to follow the natural path as well." He sternly rejected her and followed up with a request.

Hyera froze.

"Pfft! HAHAHA!" Lazaro made sure to laugh loud enough to hurt her ego.

It was a casual joke on her side, yet the moron went and gave Lazaro a reason to mock her. She swallowed it down and answered his request.

"You can't casually blurt that, the only reason I said Larissa could do it is that I observed her personally. You, on the other hand, is nowhere near her talent, and even less affinity to your best attribute. You definitely can't do it, if you could, I would've already tried to recruit you." She said it sternly just like him.

Her words sunk like needles on Lucas's ears. They gazed at each other in the uncomfortable silence.

'Oh?' Lazaro caught something different on the boar's gaze and smirked.

Lucas walked over to Lazaro's side and looked at him in the eyes. "You said I'm lucky before, I want to try regardless."

Lazaro facepalmed. "You can't, you're already following a path of cultivation, whatever deity you dreamed of imprinted its cultivation path on you."

Lucas frowned and gazed at Hyera. "Can I still get stronger than her?

"What? Hahahahah!" Hyera laughed. A mortal with a less than average talent is aiming to surpass her? the princess of an empire!?'

She suddenly stopped as Lazaro's cold smirk was set on her, "Yes, you can." He answered then Boar nodded and sat down on the border of the matress.

Since Boar is there, I want it too. "Silver laughed and sat on the other side of the bed.

"I-I If that'll make me more strong, t-then I want it too," Lila said hiding her eyes from Larissa and Hyera, she hurriedly walked over and climbed the bed to lay right beside Lazaro. "Will I be able to accompany you?" She whispered the question. His hands caressed her cheek.

"Yes."

They talked some more, Hyera and Lazaro cleared some of their doubts, collided in some subjects and eventually, the night deepened. Lazaro sent Lila back with Larissa and kicked Boar and Silve rout who seemingly had endless questions.

Lazaro gazed at the last person. "Why do this?" He asked tiredly.

"It's necessary," Hyera said. "For now, you just need to learn how to trust those three disciples, and when they are strong enough, delegate your burdens."

Hyera closed the door before she could see a reaction form him. She was stunned to realize that she did it because she was afraid of being scolded as nosey by him. 'Am I already treating him like an elder brother!?"

She sighed and turned to walk away, but Larissa was staring at her two steps away.

"How do I start on that path?" She asked.

Hyera grinned.
