Chapter 33 - Enemies meet.

It wasn't long after Ekadu was gone that a group with ten people wearing black clothing found their way to them.

Their leader, a woman with black hair and domineering stance, stared down at Lazaro from the top of a tree.

Completely ignoring her, Lazaro looked a the disheveled young woman with a striking blonde hair. He had told her to go away with the others before the bears came. Amélia was her name. He remembered. He didn't think she'd be back. Now that Lazaro thought about it, the number of people willing to help out of their own will was actually quite a lot in this world. He only met people like that late on life.

"I'm the captain of the Special brigade; Eleonor Popov, What happened to Lila!?" The domineering woman on the top of the tree questioned while looking at the sleeping Lila in his arms.

Lazaro gazed at the uniformed woman. She tried to hide it, but he could feel the anxiousness on her tone.

"You can see her or accompany me, but you cannot move her away from me," Lazaro said, to which Eleonor frowned.

"Are you the one pretending to from the special brigade? Get off my way with your nonsense and gently put my sister on the ground." She brandished a whip with clear electricity in one hand and a pistol on the other.

Numerous red laser aims covered his body, all but where Lila was.

"She suffered an assassination attempt by the orders of some hero Bosco." Lazaro suddenly said. "Her lungs and heart were shattered, I found a person to cure her and she's well, but I cannot trust you. So, I'll keep her by my side until I think it's safe enough." He said casually smiling.

Eleonor's black eyes turned eerie, "What kind of bull-"

She was cut off as a heavy drone Hound head fell into her lap.

She read the still lit panel while frowning then opened her mouth in disbelief, turning red with rage.

"It's Bosco, he must've betrayed our family! My father is what he is, but he would never kill his daughter."

Sighing with disappointment, Lazaro shook his head. "Now I know why she's like this, to have the only one on her side to be as naive and blind as you; it's a miracle she lived until now."

Without caring for him, she commanded. "Suppressing ammo, shoot"

"Now now captain. Why don't we wait and think things through before we go shooting people up?" A sudden voice stopped other advances.

The black man laughed at Eleonor.

Before she could speak, another group appeared, Then another.

After five minutes. Gerald appeared looking at Lazaro with a smile.

"For the sake of no more casualties, how about we talk things back at the academy?" He said and even though he was one of the weakest directors the special and private forces did not dare to disobey.

Gerald smiled even brighter. 'Saw it? You monkey, I'm not the kind to be trifled with by you.' He thought while expectantly gazing at Lazaro.

To his disappointment, Lazaro just sighed. "I'll need some help to carry these heavy sleepers."

*****

Lazaro smiled as he looked around. It didn't take long after he left the forest region for another group of people to come and try to apprehend him.

But Gerald and some others who grew interested in him fervently debated and protected Lazaro against the ones who wanted to pin him as a criminal. while all that happened Eleonor stared at him, more precisely at Lila on his arms.

Chaos and loud talking surrounded him and Lazaro could feel several presences way stronger than himself measuring him, and knew there were political and military powers in the distance eyeing him.

He put all that on the background. And only had eyes to the surroundings. Tall buildings, with none of the overly artistic or complicated designs of the religion-ruled countries, neither the shack-like homes of the poor, Even the homeless were fat and had clothes to wear. There was no tremendous difference in housing, they all lived inside places made with similar materials. There were no diamond castles with shacks made from rotten wood contrasting each other. It was all... even?

He didn't know if that was the right word to explain his sensation. He admired, knowing that these people did not have an ounce of essence knowledge until a few years ago, yet they still managed to build this level of quality of life. He admired and jealously grew inside of him.

His homeworld had essence knowledge since it had life, yet, The quality of life there compared to where he stood where like wine and mudwater.

'Why?' Lazaro asked himself.

His world had everything and couldn't evolve like this, yet these people that didn't have it rose into something that he only saw in fantasy books.

When his eyes came back to the present he was in front of a segmented building with hundred of room in it.

"Friend, how about it? Leave these people to rest here in the care unit, the common law is watching them even the most powerful won't dare to move them right now." Gerald said while smiling.

Listening to his words and observing that at least three different factions were interested in the people that were with him, he understood that nobody would casually make a move as that would begin a small war between them. that was valid for Eleonor too. And their main focus was himself anyway.

Lazaro found a room and put Lila, Larissa, and Hyera together, he noticed her hair and features started changing, resembling the goddess he met adrift in space.

Silver and Lucas were awake and followed him to the small stadium making Lazaro smile.

"You two are headless morons." He said laughing.

"Haha! ain that right!" Silver laughed along, and Lucas ignored and kept his stern look as he watched and listened to everything that happened around. Numerous names he knew only through others mouth was on the stadium and even stronger soldiers were surrounding them ready to pounce. Yet, he found himself not giving two shits about them.

No anxiety or apprehension. Only alertness.

Silver instead, was staring a the surrounding people with a smile, he waved cheerfully, all three dirt with earth and blood, and rags for clothes, Yet all three walked with their backs straight. Unfazed by the crowd and ominous elites.

Staring down from the podium, Leandro could not expect someone like the man he was staring now, dared to cross his way. He was the leader of one of the most prestigious and powerful companies of technology available. His ruthless eyes shone as Lazaro finally met eyes with him.

The dazed curiosity faded from Lazaro's eyes and he gave Leandro a cheap smile and spoke:

"You must be Leandro, the cuckold."
