Chapter 13 - - Giving up on Treatment

The three of them rushed to the hospital room. Qiao Weimin was talking to the doctor.

"Doctor Wang, you said in the beginning that she might get better. That's why we spent so much money. But now, my wife's almost gone. Shouldn't your hospital give me an explanation?"

"Mister Qiao, I only said that there might be a chance. I didn't think her condition would worsen so quickly. Every one's bodies are different," explained the doctor.

"I don't care. We still have your prescriptions (T/N: Western medicine aka pills) at home, but she can't even take them now. You have to take these meds back!" Qiao Weimin knew that the hospital wouldn't give compensation. What he wanted was to return those meds.

Those pills were easily over a thousand dollars. They had so many at home. They'll take what they can get by selling it back to the hospital.

"Then…okay, fine. Bring the ones you haven't touched yet later. I'll take care of it…" Doctor Wang said.

Doctor Gan shook his head.

"Mister Qiao, right? Your daughter showed me her prescription. It'll definitely work. Why don't you go get this picked up right now…" Said Doctor Gan.

"What do you mean?" Qiao Weimin couldn't understand.

Jing Yunzhao was only a bastard who stays home all day. We can use her prescription? Is this a joke?

"The meaning's simple. The patient can be saved. If you follow this prescription and use it, she has a chance of surviving…" Doctor Gan continued to explain.

Qiao Weimin frowned as he listened.

He opened his mouth after a while, "This prescription is Jing Yunzhao's, right?"

"Yes," Doctor Gan didn't deny it.

"Then I can't agree to use it!" Qiao Weimin said coldly. "You doctors said she couldn't be saved. We already prepared for her passing, but now you bring some shitty prescription. And it was prescribed by my daughter too! If it's like this, then shouldn't we just have my daughter treat her in the beginning? Plus, she's only a little girl, not even of age yet. If something were to go wrong with her prescriptions, will you guys be able to take responsibility?!"

"The patient's already like that. Her condition can't worsen any more than that, so let's just give it a try…" Doctor Gan couldn't believe how difficult Qiao Weimin was being.

Usually, it would be those patients coming to him for prescriptions. It was the first time he, himself, had to beg to save another.

"Try? Why? My wife has suffered enough and will finally be free. Do you not want her to die in peace?! And…Doctor Wang, you're my wife's primary doctor. What's with this old man coming out of nowhere?" Qiao Weimin said.

That doctor Wang was a young doctor. He came back from studying abroad. His future was full of possibilities. He felt displeased.

This patient had already been said to be hopeless by him. If someone were to save her, his reputation would be ruined.

Doctor Gan, I respect your seniority, but…Aren't you being a bit unreasonable? The patient's family already said no. It wouldn't be good if you continue to be so persistent, right?" Doctor Wang said, smiling.

Doctor Gan's stomach was full of anger. He had never seen such an unreasonable family member.

He, Gan Songbai (甘松柏), had a reputation in that hospital. He had already approved of the prescription, yet he was cast aside like an old shoe!

Plus, he had already lived to his age. He knew how to judge people.

Did Qiao Weimin reject him because he couldn't trust the prescription? No, he obviously just didn't want to save her!

Gan Songbai had a heart and practices medicine, but if the other party doesn't want it, then he can't do much.

He sighed and walked out of the room. He looked at Jing Yunzhao and said, "Little girl, I can't do much if your dad doesn't want to. You should just let it go."

Jing Yunzhao nodded, "I understand. Thank you doctor Gan."

She had already showed her kindness but the other party not accepting it is none of her business. From now on, she doesn't owe the Qiao's anything. It's time for her get payback!
