Chapter 2 - Seen Enough, Mr. Wu?

Still feeling dreamy, Evelyn answered the phone while leaning on the door. Her eyes were unfocused while looking at the ceiling.

"Hello."

"Eve, we're going straight to the club. Go get ready!" Biyu's excited voice came through the phone.

Almost instantly, Evelyn dropped back to reality. She knitted her eyebrows. "What the hell? We've just arrived. I'm still jet lagged. I pass!"

"Oh c'mon, Eve! Just once don't be a lazy ass. Be my wing girl and cheer your bitch, okay?"

Evelyn grunted. Her face had completely darkened. "You ruin my perfect holiday."

"Oopsie...in that case, I owe you one." Song Biyu playfully teased her.

The corner of her lips lifted up and in a dangerous tone, Eve warned her, "Remember your words."

"Swear on it!"

"Okay, but still, I've got nothing nice to wear. So yeah..too bad, can't go." Evelyn tried to hold in her laughter as she covered her mouth.

A sound of giggle resounded from the other side. "Oh...not to worry, Dear. I'll bring you one right away." Then, she hung up.

Evelyn looked at the screen of her cellphone and felt like smashing it to the floor. Fuck!

Roughly 5 minutes later, the bell rang and Evelyn opened the door for the two beasts to come in. Biyu was holding a black dress while Jia Xin had a makeup box in her hands. Eve raised an eyebrow at this sight.

"From the start, I had no chance of escaping, huh?"

Both of them cracked in laughter at her remarks.

"Nope! Here." Song Biyu handed the dress in her hand. "Try it."

Surrendering to her fate, Evelyn dragged her feet to the bathroom. She took off her T-shirt and jeans and slipped into the black dress. It turned out to be a mini dress with plunging neckline and an open V back. It wrapped her svelte figure perfectly showing the magnificent curve of her small waist. She looked both beautiful and alluring.

With her ladylike elegance shrouding her aura and a poker straight posture, she strutted out of the bathroom and into the eyes of her friends. Song Biyu and Jia Xin, both their mouths ajar, gawking at Evelyn and their eyes involuntarily traveled down to her long legs.

That pair of legs were sinful, like a pair of high quality art made of porcelain, crafted by a master of craftsman. They sent both of the girls drooling and green with envy.

"What the fuck!" They exclaimed in sync.

On the other hand, Evelyn jolted at their reaction. "W-What?"

"I know you're cute but not this...damn! Girl, you're freaking hot! Shit, that legs and that body. Why you hiding them?!" Biyu was shocked and ecstatic as if she had just uncovered a mystery that had haunted her curiosity.

"If you dress up more and not such a lazy ass wearing a baggy T-shirt around the clock, all men will bow down at your feet, Girl! You're a fucking queen!" Jia Xin chimed in.

"Oh my God! How are you still a virgin?!"

"Song Biyu!" Evelyn yelled as her face reddened in embarrassment.

"Okay, okay, I'll stop. My assistant, come." Biyu beckoned Jia Xin and she came directly beside her bringing the makeup box. "Let's do some magic!"

Evelyn gulped as she peered at the two aggressive creatures in front of her closing in.

VIP Room Club Paris

Rich colors and opulent textures decorated the space, with stunning examples of French rococo furniture and baroque styling. The sound of high volume music continuously beating every eardrums in the room and multicolored lights flashing the dance floor.

The night was young and the bodies had not yet sweated enough as the people kept dancing and wrapping each other in rhythm. The heat burnt every now and then and kisses thrown in hidden corner.

But for some, they simply enjoyed their drinks and watched the crowd danced in high spirit. With his leg crossed, Wu Chen reclined on the couch in a relax manner. His shirt was a bit crumpled at the moment, just a bit, because he had to walk across the sea of people on the dance floor to reach his seat.

He ran his fingers through his hair, giving air to his scalp. But this unconscious gesture, caught the eyes of the women there. His masculine aura evoked the sexy charm of a mature man, enveloping his body. His bronze skin seemed to glow under the flashing lights.

"Do you see that man? God, such a feast to the eyes."

"Can I just say? That guy stole the limelight tonight. He's a top notch quality, for sure."

"Agree. A nobody would not have the same temperament and such an air of dominance and arrogance, like a fucking king."

Just like that, the whispers circulated among the women there as they eyed him from head to toe. Some even tried to attract his attention. The bold ones came directly to his table, only to be shooed coldly. Suddenly, a young man came towards him, grinning.

"Yo, Brother! You sure you don't want to join us with the ladies?" The young man asked Wu Chen.

He smirked like a deathly weapon to the girls there and said, "I don't see one that I like."

"Tch...such a high standard. Well, keep your eyes open, Bro!" Then, the young man left him again.

Wu Chen lowered his gaze to study the drink on his table. He thought, 'It would be kind of hard. Xiao Ying is perfect.'

She left him waiting, even now. And yet, he persistently waited like a fool.

'Did all those scandals not enough for you?' He scoffed, deep in his thought.

Wu Chen snatched his drink from the table and chugged the whiskey down his throat. He was frustrated and angry. When he slammed the glass onto the table, that was when he saw her. Just a fleeting image of someone familiar. In fact, it was just a stranger...

...And yet, it burnt in his mind, the afterimage of her presence, her face, and her black dress. Funny, how just an accidental glance could caught his attention and held his breath.

His throat was dry and burning in heat, streaming down to his chest where every second, his heart seemed to pound a little bit harder than before. As his eyes scanned the room, once again, the mysterious presence entered his vision.

Right at this moment, a smile like a cluster of amaryllis blooming across the vast snow, so cold and tantalizing, spread across her face. Like the song of a mermaid, a beautiful illusion, lulling him into a trap, slowly but surely, it caught him bad before he even knew it himself.

Just like that, he stood up and made his way to the crowd. One step at a time, his eyes were fixed on her the entire way. But then, he saw her moved away from a guy and managed to escape, blending with the crowd.

That was when he snapped out of it. He stopped and sighed. 'What am I doing?'

He turned around to return to his seat. But, right at this moment, his eyes met a pair of emerald iris, staring back at him.

"Seen enough Mr. Wu?"
