Chapter 14 - 14 I'm Hungry!

I had System open the VMD and started designing a shawarma bar. It was to be housed in a twenty by twenty by twenty building, with wrap around windows and a front porch. There would be a sign above the door saying "Shawarma Bar". I put in steel bins for the salad and dips and paused. Making the food was a little trickier. I could only create what I knew, after all.

I turned to Spagetti. "Any chance of getting a copy of your food creation templates?"

"TRADE NOT ACCEPTABLE. YOU OFFER NOTHING." Spagetti staggered, but he didn't pass out this time. I shrugged, gave him another shot of rejuvenation, and turned back to my Shawarma Bar. It had been worth a try.

I put a griddle and two roasters in, and then had to consult with System about a power source. It showed me enchanting designs it got from the trade previously that produced heat that could be varied with a knob controlling the magic flow. It relied on magic power condensed into a crystal to provide the energy. I went with that, since it was the fastest to whip up and I was hungry!

Saving my work on the Shawarma Bar as Shawarma Bar 1, I then created and saved templates for the food. For the bread, I made laffa wraps, pita bread, and french bread. For the shawarma, I only had turkey shawarma previously, with an oil and spices marinade, but it would be enough. For the salads, I made fried onions, french fries, deep fried eggplant, lettuce, pickles, jalapenos, and tomatoes. I could have kept going, but I was hungry!

I quickly created templates for charif, hummus, and tehina, then stopped again. How should the food be spawned in? "Whatever," I said. "System, please create the Shawarma Bar template in the nearest open space. Add all the food templates I just created to the bins and both roasters. I'm hungry!"

With a woomph of displaced air, a building appeared right behind Spagetti. He shouted in alarm and stumbled forward.

"Relax," I said, taking deep whiffs of the tantalizing aroma beginning to waft from the Shawarma Bar. "You can't get injured in Heaven." Then I dove through the door.

I reached for the roasting meat, and then realized i was missing something. I had forgotten utensils and plates! "Forget it," I said. I just used my hands to peel the edges of the roasting turkeys off and threw my takings on the griddle with fried onions, eggplant and jalapenos. I was too hungry to create more templates, and my body could handle a little heat. I added two laffas so that they could toast a little, then spread hummus all over them. I then added lettuce and tomatoes, topping the laffas off with the fried mix.

Quickly rolling them both up, I turned and offered one to Spagetti, who had dazedly followed me in and watched my assembly. He dutifully took it with a puzzled expression on his face that quicky turned to shock as I started scarfing my shawarma laffa down. Man, that was good, and boy was I hungry!

Spagetti soon joined me in the scarfing after his first bite, and together we finished off everything, including the dips and salads. "Let's do this again," he told me. "But we gotta get a move on."

I nodded and stretched. I created a template for black cherry seltzer, and System spawned two two liter bottles in front of me. Handing one to Spagetti, I drained mine dry.

It was Heroing time!
