Chapter 49 - The homecoming clause

While Ador was on her road to recovery, she started back her office work. She used to go to office monday to saturday, eat nutritious food and try out new ways to improve herself from attacks of breathlessness.

She would travel by loaded bus, and when she could not help her mental stress of handling an overcrowding bus, she would get down. She used the metro and local trains too, to help recover herself. The panic attacks decreased..... so did the dose of clonazepam. Three months passed swiftly. Ador now used to carry the medicine and take it on requirement.

Due to miscarriage her bleeding became heavy . So she along with Ita and Unma went to Dr B D Mukherjee for consultation. He reviewed, gave some medicines and said if Ador needs to conceive again, she needs to do it early or else it will be difficult for her to bear children in the future.

Ita and Unma looked at each other. Ador saw their eyes movement and she sighed.

When they came back home,Unma was talking about Ador's in law's.

Ador smiled and said, "I overheard my father in law discuss with Dev that, if he had not screamed of wanting to marry Ador, post his usual drinking habit, then this type of girl would never be their daughter in-law. He would have found someone beautiful and suitable for Dev in all respect."

"Don't worry, my home coming had been difficult, but the return to Durgabari will be next to impossible. "

The room went silent. Ador left for the adjoining bedroom to watch soap operas.

Kir who was a silent spectator, till now, spoke. " You should let her live life on her own terms. If she does not want to return back, no need to emotionally pressurise. If she wants a divorce, we will be beside her, if she wants to return, we still will back her. She is 26 years only, a full life awaits her. Plus who knows if Dev changes for the better? Our relatives were useless. When I told Govind to do a background check of Mr. Bali, he came back and said own house and car, rich and affluent. He did not ask neighbours about their sustenance, ways of living, manners etc. If only we knew, our Ador would not have been humiliated. For the marriage to happen in grandeur we gave up most of our savings. Who could have thought that these people would turn out to be such hypocrites..... If Ador could have changed the stone heart of any one of the three, then maybe she will be called back sooner or later. We will abide to her decisions. Is it fine? "

Unma and Ita nodded unanimously.
